RUNNING SHOE REVIEWS - 2004
By Chris Tull
I may get some flack on
this, but I think a triathlete’s best friend (or worse enemy) during
training and races are their running shoes.
To many, running is the
often the most grueling portion of triathlon training or a race. Running is
also the most likely leg in which injuries can occur. That is unless you’re
swimming in shark-infested waters or using a unicycle during the cycling
leg.
To avoid injury and allow
you to train and race at your best, you’ll want to find the best running
shoe for you. Unfortunately, finding the right shoes involves more than
grabbing the same brand your favorite athlete uses, or snagging the snazzy
shoes with all the fancy bells and whistles. First, you’ll need to know your
foot type. Check out the
Finding the Right Running Shoes for more information on this.
Now that you know your
foot type let’s continue. The following are reviews of shoes geared towards
different foot types. These reviews will provide some extra information in
finding a new best friend for your feet.
Review for Stability Shoes (for
Neutral foot types)
Review for
Motion-Controlled Shoes (for Over-Pronator foot
types)
Review for
Cushioned Shoes (for Under Pronator foot types)

A quick note:
We’ll be
adding shoe reviews periodically, so check back now and then. Also, shoe
companies change their models often. Shoe models come and go. If that’s
ever the case with any of the shoes on this list, let us know and we’ll
update these lists as soon as possible. |
