BeginnerTriathlete.com is proud to announce and feature Team Red, White and Blue as our official charity!

Team RWB is a non-profit organization that seeks to harness the power and motivation of the endurance athlete to positively enhance and empower wounded veterans and their families as they reintegrate back into their communities upon exiting  Active, Reserve, or National Guard service.

Team RWB emphasizes the idea that "we do not view success in terms of dollars raised, but in relationships maintained," which is directly in line with what the BT community embraces and nurtures. Beginner Triathlete's philosophy is to make healthier people and to promote an active lifestyle throughout the world. Together, we feel BT will be a catalyst in assisting Team RWB’s growth and implementation of their mission to help wounded veterans through a very personal, relationship based model.

As a Team RWB sponsor, BT is hosting an online forum that allows Team RWB athletes to share tips, coordinate meet-ups at races, and get to know each other in the same way people use the main forums.  Additionally, BT has generously extended a 20% membership discount to all Team RWB members wishing to upgrade from their free membership. Both the free membership and upgraded membership provide users with access to all of the various detailed training plans from 5Ks and Sprint Triathlons to Marathons and Iron-distance triathlons!

Joining or supporting Team RWB is FREE! Raising awareness is as important as raising funds.  You can register with Team RWB as an athlete, become a community supporter and volunteer at one of Team RWB’s events throughout the US, or donate to a Team RWB athlete by visiting www.TeamRWB.org.

One of the best ways to make a difference is to reach out to veterans in your community, and Team RWB can help you do this! BT and Team RWB will have a big presence at many races in various forms (racers, aid stations, etc.) this year including: Ironman Texas, White Lake Half II, REV3 Cedar Point, the SuperFrog Half-Iron, Ironman Arizona, and many running races from local 5Ks to Ultras!

Currently REV3 has partnered with Team RWB for REV3 Cedar Point and has some limited Half and Full REV slots for free for athletes who would like to race for Team RWB and commit to some really reasonable fundraising minimums!

Team RWB will be hosting a pre-race dinner at the REV3 Cedar Point race and will be offering an invitation to all BT racers as well. More information to follow; just watch the REV3 Cedar Point threads in the forums!

Team RWB will also be on course at Run Aid Station 4 at Ironman Texas and hosting an Ironman Texas post-race celebration and Team RWB charity dinner (with some awesome raffle prizes from BT and other Team RWB sponsors)!  Information and invitations for BT racers will be posted here as well.

If you have any questions about RWB, BT’s support of the organization, problems registering, or need help learning how to get involved with helping veterans in your area, contact [email protected] ("Comet" on BT), [email protected] ("TexasMPGal") or [email protected] ("RSBurnsIM").

Help spread the word. "It's Our Turn!”

Long walks on the beach at sunset...oh wait, I mean: Running, some swimming...not triathlons. Anything outside: watersports, trails, travel, mountains...you get the idea.
