Heading down the hill for a road bike ride with Julie from my team. She lost her job, so I told her I'd ride with her sometime. Unfortunately, all these daytime rides are really cutting into my studio time - I'm going to have to tone it down and get to work later next week. I tend to want to get out and photograph this time of year, and that is what I've been doing, but I do have a couple of deadlines that I need to get to work on.
After we ride, I'm meeting a guy to buy some new bike shoes - he posted a ton of brand new carbon soled Pearl Izumi MTB shoes on Facebook for $50. Pearl fits me well and mine are getting wrecked, so I jumped on it. Good deal for a pair of shoes that retailed for $300. 
Tonight and tomorrow are uber busy with kid events and dinners etc. Then on Sunday Nate and I are leaving to head up to Aspen for a few days, sans kids. It'll be nice to go and just chill for a few days. I'm looking forward to a good nap and a long hike, and otherwise will be happy [...]

Late night today. Run done. I have a few errands to run today before work, and some homework as well. 
   
Post test run. I tried a hydration pack this morning and a different style of @balega_international socks, the #hiddencontour. I am a big fan of the #hiddencomfort. The contours were a bit tighter, so I am on the fence at the moment. The pack will go into regular use when I start building mileage. The one thing that wasn't part of the test was the #coffee. #charlottecountyfl #swflorida #running #trailrunning

Hard workouts today.  Friday Fight will kick my a$$, but it's a great workout.
TGIF. On Wednesday morning, my work phone went off line.  I reported it to IT before 7 AM.....yesterday I didn't have it back...IT did nothing.  I lost my Citrix around 8:30 yesterday morning and voila, my phone was on line again.  I lost my Citrix at least 6 more times throughout the day, most of them on one call....Seriously, the Dr office enters the case and just states the procedure.  They KNOW we have to review this procedure.....Seriously people.  Don't set up a case without giving me the &*^%$ clinical.  I had to call her to get the info, and my connection died 4x during that interaction.

TGIF! Fridays are always enjoyable but I'll be even more glad to flip the calendar over to Friday over the next 9-12 months. Easy day at work and then heading back to Bluffton for the weekend.
The workout plan said this for today's workout: "There aren't many exercises in this total-body workout, but I promise that you'll be challenged and feel great after you're done!" Yes. When I first looked at it I thought, "Really? Only 4 exercises?" But yes indeed, that was sufficient for a challenging full-body workout!

I'm taking today as a rest day and plan to ride the bike this weekend.  Next week, I hope to get into some kind of routine.
Chattanooga was my fifth iron distance event.  Kevin put some follow Janyne info on Facebook this time and my manager say it.  Then she saw the Janyne is off the bike and on the run photos he posted.  Then she was the halfway done with the run photo and finally the finisher photo.  She was like, "Wow!  I didn't know that it took so long!"  Um, yeah...

One teacher meeting down, one to go. Meeting with Owen's teachers went well. We came up with some ideas and talked about where he's at. They all think he's a great kid, so that at least makes things easier. I really do love the school - it's really hippy dippy, but it's just so calm and positive, I think that's good for him.
Off to ride my bike for a while. I was stressed out so I ate a bunch of donut holes when I got home, gotta work 'em off ;) ;)

Chris is doing some nighttime CX ride with the Bicycle Heaven group tonight. I don't really want to ride my bike at night outside in the dark, even if it is on a path. I just don't want to fall! My CX bike is fixed and ready to go, though. I don't know. Depending on how:  Cold it is Dark it is Wet it is Brave I feel 
I will make the call when I get home from work. I don't see the attraction of riding around cold and wet in the dark. I don't need to prove I'm that tough. Or that stupid.
But maybe I will anyway. Who knows. Otherwise it's a trainer ride.

I have found that if I just make a "quick" stop at Target on the way home from work, any hopes of an evening run are shot.  First, it's not possible for me to do quick at Target unless I am really focused.  Second, I usually end up generating work for myself (groceries, etc) due to whatever I buy and I run out of time.    So, basically I need to get into my run right after work or on the way home.  My boss is gone and I am thinking about just leaving at 4:15. I feel like I am cheating even though she always encourages planning our own schedules.  Not everyone gets this privilege. 
Tonight it's going to be run then gym.    September hasn't exactly been the most impressive running month... but it could have been worse.

Yesterday I got a cortisone shot in my foot. I have a mortons neuroma. Unfortunately there isn't really a fix for a neuroma. Hopefully the shot helps and I can run pain free.

Overslept and didn't get up to run. This will be 3 days in a row with no workout --- maybe that's not a bad thing. Work has been pretty demanding this week, my back is sore, and some days the workout just feels like one more thing that needs to be checked off. Except that I feel so much better once it's over with.

Working until noonish today, then home to pack and leave for Hermann around 3. I. hate. packing. It puts me into some kind of low level panic mode, even with an elaborate checklist. Once that's done and we are on the road, all will be well.
