Sister dinner tonight. Yard work today. Outfit planning for our little run away for our anniversary tomorrow. EEEK! Excited to celebrate 26 years with my man!

Vegas is booked for the fall. Got pretty decent deals and I am determined to get to the Red Rocks to hike one day. It is happening. Damn it! :D Of course my niece proposed instead of joining me that they all bring a table, chairs, drinks and just observe me climb. LOL. She is such a nature girl...NOT.

Need to do some sort of easy road ride today. Maybe I'll go down and do Bear Creek/Red Rocks? Kids are done with school at 1, and then done for the year - holy cow that went fast!!
I'm dragging today, big-time. Couldn't fall asleep Monday night because Nate was out of town. Couldn't fall asleep last night because Owen was bugging me about a "weird-feeling" tummy, whatever that means. Think I'm tired and also starting to feel a few bigger weeks on the bike. Need to do some recovery rides - I've been doing a lot of high HR stuff with all the climbing I've been doing.

Kitchen sink was done today and it's not what we had talked about; think we had a mis communication. He wants me to look again in the morning when it's drier but it won't be solid espresso color, it's speckled and just darker than the counters. I think it will be nice though, I'll post a pic when it's all done.

Got on the ball and cleaned out my closet today. I had shoes/pants/shirts in there I have not worn since before DS was born and he is 10. Why do I think I need to hold on to shoes I have not worn in 10 years?! So I bagged up 5 bags full of stuff to donate. Then cleaned, reorganized, sorted some more. Blah, that was one of my big summer chores which I thought I would procrastinate and then never finish so I'm glad that's done!

A random observation for the day. I live in a suburb where there's a leash law for dogs, but, for some reason, there are dogs running around without a leash. It can be scary when you're running, to pass by larger dogs, and you're not sure of their demeanor. Need to find some different trails to run on, but I went on a congested one near my house, in the interest of time today. I don't understand dog owners sometimes, I have cats. ;=)

Today's run, 4.15 miles - pace: 39:34 minutes - I'm okay with it, today.

*After, 20 pushups, core work, and 15 minutes of stretching

12:27 PM: While the vibe at work here is still tragically negative, I will say that since I've changed teams I personally am no longer suffering from an ulcer, eye twitches, acne, or uncontrollable stress sweating. My prior manager had a vendetta for some unknown reason, and she extracted her pound of flesh from me. Things backfired for her, though, because she didn't receive a job offer in the updated work structure so she's without a job as of September. I guess it really doesn't pay to be a jerk.

Another quickie workout this morning followed by breakfast at my favorite breakfast joint. Heading out to do some burning this morning and start working on the pool this afternoon. This morning was my first meal that included things that were processed/greasy. I had a bagel breakfast sandwich with sausage, egg, & cheese. The sausage is not sitting so well. I'll be happy to get it worked out of my system.

Look where you want to go. - Jasha Cultreri
How many times have I told my ski students that.  Today's lesson is exactly that and applied to all aspects of life.
To change the direction of my life, I need simply to listen to my inner knowing and trust that everything will fall perfectly into place. - Dr Nancy Fagen
Ride of silence tonight - plus a hopefully good ride out there.
Last night's tri group was good I had 15 cyclists, many of them very new, and a couple on 'new' bicycles.  One lady's handlebars were totally loose.  Oops.

Power washing decks; nasty fall as the ladder collapsed under me. It shortened itself and went down; and I briefly grabbed balusters but couldn't get a grip and went down on top of the ladder. Final results: bruised but ok.

Easy technique swim during rest week. Coach tells me that the next three weeks are going to be HARD, so I have that to look forward to. He also recommended that I do my hard workouts really early or in the evening to mitigate the effect of Texas heat.
I'm inclined to go with the morning - I am an early riser. The challenge is that my morning has a lot of stuff packed into it. If I add in the workouts, at least during the week, I'll probably have to get up at least an hour or an hour and a half earlier. I've found that if I workout immediately after waking up, my performance suffers. I need a little bit of time for all systems to fire up. Getting up earlier will allow me to do my scripture reading, have some coffee, etc. By the time I get through that, I should be ready for whatever pain coach may bring.
