I discovered last night that getting up the stairs constitutes a quite strenuous workout. Kind of like a deep one leg squat followed by a tricep pushup. :) Yep, finally made it up to bed last night. Had my foot propped up on 3 pillows and wasn't really comfortable moving around, so I essentially stayed in one position all night - with my boot on. Felt like crap when I got up. Played around with a few things today and am going to try doing things a little differently tonight.

Doc visit went well. He said I was the first patient he ever had that was smiling on the first followup. His assistant unwrapped my foot and I finally got to see the new foot. He didn't cut as extensively as I thought he would. I have 10 stitches down the side for the bunion and 3-4 stitches in each toe for the hammertoe correction. There is an additional cut with 5 stitches where he went after the neuroma. While I do have the frankenfoot appearance, I was able to look past all the stitches and really marvel at [...]

Before i forget - i did not have any coffee before i started today's run. I think this may have kept my HR from spiking up more quickly at the beginning of the run.

Tried to get my RHR again this morning. somewhat more successfully in the past.
The Min i got was 57, so i guess that was it for today. I think i'm keeping it from coming down, because i'm getting anxiety over not having it come down to or below my previous low of 54. I thinks its counterproductive to "try" to get your RHR to come down ;)

As for today's run. I was pretty "okay" with it. I hesitate to say "happy", because really if i'm truly "happy" with 12'20" miles i don't know if i should be running at all.

On the positive side tho, i dropped my ceiling to 75% today (152). I actually decided i would to the run up to 75%, walk down to 65% thing again. As it turned out, i was able to run the whole time and keep it under 75%. And actually my avg was around 70%. I really tried to keep it close to 70%, but i didn't w[...]

So the plan for today is to get to work. Work. Leave on time and then do a workout. *Sigh* This will not do for Ironman training.
11:49 AM: I just worked for an hour and a half on a report and when I went to hit save... my computer "TIMED OUT DUE TO INACTIVITY". WHAT? Inactivity? I've been very active here for the past 1.5 hours. In fact I haven't even peed and my bladder is about to burst!? I have been active ALL OVER this keyboard for an hour and a half! Everything I did is gone. EVERYTHING. GONE.  I am not really feeling motivated to do it again. So... IT! I'm doing something else. Maybe I'll take up drinking in the bathroom. UUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Jon comes home today - YIPPEEEE!!!!  My animals are thrilled as well... the dogs have not been able to get used to my morning schedule (Jon typically gets up around 9-ish).  This was Molly yesterday morning.  She looked up at me and promptly went back to sleep when I told her it was time to go outside at 5am :-)
I realized last night that I have 16 available sessions in my Massage Envy account, which basically means I can get a massage every other week until after Ironman (counting the 12 that I will earn in the next year also).  Now I just need to find a therapist that I really like!

Now both arms are hurting. My right arm is getting better and I thought I would be able to make it to the pool this week however now that my left arm feels, at this point, worse than my right arm did, it is going to be even longer before I get back to the pool! Ugh! I'm feeling old!

So I'm a member of a Facebook group that is all about natural living and reducing the amount of resources we use - I originally joined because I was in a "no/low shampoo" group and many members referenced this other group as a natural extension. And I've learned SO much and incorporated a lot of stuff from that group on my journey to eliminate harsh chemicals from my life.
But guys. Yesterday there was a question post "How often do you shower" and the responses were hilariously disturbing. Now I'll tell you that there's a similar movement like "no poo" where some people think soap harms the skin more than helps, and that "washing/scrubbing" with only water does just as good of a job. I can kinda-sorta see that viewpoint, IF your body responds well to it. But the majority of these ladies said they shower maybe once a week or maybe once every 2 weeks. Not "use soap" that sparingly - they actually only wet and scrub the nasty off their bodies only a few times a month.
I'm sorry. Wha[...]

I really wanted to go to RIPPED this morning but my body said NO WAY.  I went back to sleep after the alarm went off and next thing I knew it was 7 AM--definitely the right call.  Going to run at lunch and to Centergy tonight.
Decent run, yes I could have gone outside but as I am not dressed for outside and only have a limited timeframe to run I chose the treadmill.  Working my legs back into shape by hook or by crook.

PT
10 minute warm up on the elliptical trainer.

My NEW PT texted me just as I was walking in to the gym to say she had to reschedule as she had a headache. Boo hoo! I was so pissed off. Fortunately another trainer was free and I got a good hard sweaty workout in with him. I fired the other girl and will book with him for my last session next week. I wish I had met him in May. What a joke this gym is!

Ran with the fabulous Jen Schmit today! It was awesome to catch up with her, even though it was just a part of her crazy early morning long run.
Had a goal of running 50 miles in November and it looks like I'm going to blow that away. Feels good to be back in running mode. Now to get some cross training in the mix…
