Short week this week. Chaperoning a field trip with Aspen's class on Thursday, then the kids have no school on Friday or Monday. So, the plan is to start a painting today and hit the trails this afternoon. I'm exhausted though, and have a bunch of bills to pay and business type stuff to knock of my list, so we'll see...
Ate like crap this weekend, and the scale showed it this morning. Cookies to fuel my long ride Saturday, gnocchi/dessert/wine Saturday night, bread/cheese/chips/cookies/hard cider during the game last night.143.0 on Friday, 145.8 this morning!! Ouch! No worries though - heck, the Broncos don't win the Super Bowl every day!! Interesting to see how a couple days of extra sugar and crap tip the scale, but back to eating well this week and trying to fit in a ride or workout each day. Really happy that I've hit 6 hours on the bike the past two weeks. It's a good start for training for the Half Growler.

Back to the regular schedule this week. I'm happy to get back to the regular routine because I am tired. Sore chest, tris, and lats do not make for a comfortable day 6 in the pool. In retrospect, I wish we would have spread things out a little more, but it's done and now it's all up to me to put the work in and make things better. The kick is where I'm struggling now. I know the right thing to do. It's just exhausting. It's going to take some time to get it built up. I keep thinking about the first time I got in the pool this year and how I struggled with my first 25. I've come a long way and I hope the kick portion will progress the same way. It's so easy to get lazy on the kick because it's so hard for me, but I know I'll appreciate building up the stamina later in the year.

Today, 100% back on nutrition. Wow, what a slippery slope. I haven't been having a free for all, but the sweets and bread were prevalent this week.

I enjoyed the game last night.  Carolina was outplayed, no doubt about it.  They made a lot of bad plays in the early part of the game and that cost them.  Denver made a lot of fouls that were unnecessary...and the number of QB sacks for both teams seemed pretty high for a Super Bowl....Felt a little bad for Cam Newton in the final couple minutes cause he just looked like he was mentally out of it then totally lost as to what just happened.  However, I saw the piece where he answered no questions in the post game interview and just walked out.  THAT is just being a big old baby about losing.

Case did stuff on his 3-days off. Dishwasher is finally installed and the bathroom and entryway are even grouted. I just need to do the trimwork (cut it, paint it) and help with getting the door shaved and the above dishwasher cabinet set. I cannot even express how good it will be not to have that area of my house a mess anymore. Balls pretty much in my court for the plasterwork in the dining room, but with lesson plans for days I'll be off work and packing etc. I don't plan on a lot of progress this week. but am hoping for some.
