I went home to get changed to try to get a run in before it stormed.  I changed and the minute I went out the door, it rained...hard.  I changed back to normal clothes and noticed a lull, I rechanged and went back out, it started pouring...hard.  I bagged it.  I tried, I really wanted to run but I found out later were under a storm warning the rest of the day.

I know everyone is dying to know what I'm doing about my lawn situation. Like a lot of things in life, I'm taking a middle road. I'm having the $35 per mow company get me through this summer, mowing every other week so probably six times. Maybe seven. Then I'm going to buy a new lawn mower next spring. Yes it's going to cost me a bit this summer, but based on my past IM training summers and how my lawn ACTUALLY looked (awful) - I'm okay with it. Also I can budget/save for a new machine between now and next spring.
Mentally preparing for another 20-mile ride tonight, it will be 97 degrees.

When I first entered my swim from this weekend I inaccurately put it down as 800 yards. The swim was 1/2 mile so it was actually 880 yards. For some reason 2:20/100 sounds so much better to me than 2:30 or slower :) Ha. Whatever. It was slow and time to get into some swim shape for the YWCA women's tri which I'd really like to kill this summer. 1.5 months to do some running, biking and swimming and hopefully rock that race.

I am starting my "3 things" list again. I find it really helps me to focus on positive things at least a little bit each day, just to stem the tide on negativity.
Starting today:
1. I am glad Jim is home and had a wonderful trip
2. I can see progress in reclaiming the property
3. My Mom is healthy and sane (as sane as ever anyway). :)
and the work day got away with me. No lunch break so no work out. Imma gonna have to get up early.

Monday -- U2 Concert/Rest. Taking the train in the AM, and concert goes late.
Tuesday -- 1 hour walk PM
Wednesday -- 2 loops IMWI (long bike 80 miles)/20 min T walk
Thursday -- AM walk/PM easy bike optional
Friday -- LONG WALK/Swim PM
Saturday -- Joliet Ride? 62 miles?
Sunday -- LONG SWIM 4000.
So much juggling and preparation. Got home late last night, so it was physically impossible for me to drag this out of bed to do anything. I have to work all day (am thinking of taking some personal time to get out an hour early) and then race home, walk for an hour, get all my crap together and drive myself and my bike and all my crap up to Trudy's house. Tomorrow we're getting up at the crack of doom to drive to Madison. Riding the IMWI course, T-walk, and then driving home. Promises to be an exhausting day, I'm sure. Thursday back to work! Friday, I'm off for the holiday and I am hoping to sleep IN.
5:48 PM: And I'm still at work. I should just move in.

6:36am:  Well, yesterday didn't turn out how I planned it. Decided to go fetch Belle from doggie day care before working out since it had stopped raining. It was my first time back there since Clarke had passed and it was ... hard. There's a woman who works there who always said that Clarke was her boyfriend -- whenever she would walk into the room, he would do his singing/howling for her ... and so we both broke down a little. And that continued for me once I got home.
It's crazy -- I feel like I'm pretty much good with it. I have told several people, he's been brought up in conversation and I'm fine. But yesterday just wasn't fine. I know - it's all a process. And yesterday I kind of made peace with the fact that I don't think I'm going to get another dog until Belle passes away.  Belle doesn't mind being an only dog -- and I'm fearful that despite best intentions that she might not take well to another dog in the house. And the other thing -- it would be difficult to d[...]

Between late nights with resumes and cover letters, homework and random appointments for auto glass repair activity has come to a near stand-still. On the bright side though, I did score a 69/70 on our first test earning a smile and hip-chair bump from the instructor. My brain is very happy learning.

Swim lessons all day again. Pool was nice and warm today - 90! We left the heater on in the night instead of turning it off then turning it on to start heating the water up all over again.

So, I suffered two injuries over the course of this past year, sciatica being the more recent of the two. I injured myself doing dead lifts...by jerking the bar to the right side when I was losing my grip, during a session one night. So, I'm following the 5x5 weight lifting program, if anyone here is familiar. The plan requires squats 3x per week, and I have followed this plan before and couldn't believe the quick gains. In 90 days, the results were incredible. So, I'm going to follow it but unfortunately, squatting with that frequency = negative effects on my running.

But, tonight, I made the best of it. Last night, was 5x5 ...so today is an 'off' day for weights.

So hot out, but in a way I like it. Sweating the toxins out, and bugs in your eyes after a run...what could be better? :=)

Yesterday was AWFUL.  My friend won't be back to work until tomorrow and another coworker in my group is on vacation.  The person who was supposed to be doing the electronic charts is S-L-O-W as molasses.  At one point we had nearly 80 cases in the bucket.  I put out the SOS so people would stay for a while.  I worked about 11 hours, signed out at 6 PM for the gym date with John., came home, ate and signed back in for two more hours.  Today I have a nasty headache.  I've already taken Excedrin Migraine and Aleve.  Hopefully they will kick in soon.
Todays giggle really made me laugh.....if you have an i phone ask Siri what 0 divided by 0 is.  The answer is hysterical!!!
