Great ride up Boreas Pass with Jon and Dan today! It was CHILLY - 33 degrees and spitting snow most of the way up - but it was beautiful with the remaining yellow leaves and snow on the ground. I'm really thankful to have found such a supportive team this year. These guys are an example - they could totally kick my up that climb, and I told them they were welcome to ride ahead anytime, but they just chilled out at my pace and we all rode together 90% of the way and just enjoyed being out there.
The descent was probably the coldest I've ever been on a bike, thanks to a couple of poor clothing choices. The forecast was for high 40's, so I didn't wear wool socks and should have. I also just wore thin gloves, which was fine on the way up but way sketchy on the way down. Riding into the wind, my hands got so cold that I couldn't feel them. I stopped once and warmed them up just so I could continue to brake! When we got to the car I was shivering violently for about 20 minutes. Insane. [...]

Sufferfest out there 3.2K climbing. I really had nothing left on the last four miles. Glad Q and Erin pulled me to finish the day strong. Nutrition was spot on--got into my system all of the calories I needed.

Crappy week at work--too much work--too much stress.
Calories 1240 or 306 per hour.

Other than some soreness in my toe walking around at the end of a VERY active day, I'm finally fully healthy (knock virtual wood).

Drove the return 10 hours back from Michigan, and went straight to Crossfit; didn't even go home or return the rental first. I knew if I didn't go right away, I wouldn't go at all. Workout was pretty rough and I was really stiff, but got it done.

Going to head on over to the gym today and do a little lifting before the timeclocks are fully instituted in this hellhole.
Meh. I got here earlyish, and they decided to move my desk again. I am now right along the window, in a really nice location. All alone! No one will even know I'm here! I am Milton. Reincarnated as a woman. And without my stapler.
So, no time to go to the gym. We have workouts planned for Saturday and Sunday, so... I will take today as a rest. 2 days in a row can really do a girl in.
I would like to start lifting again, though. Add that to the list.
Chris cleaned out the garage to make way for our new bikes... in doing so, we found ANOTHER TERRY BUTTERFLY SADDLE! It's clearly used... I don't know why I have it, but I'm STOKED. I was going to order one for my CX bike but NOW I DON'T HAVE TO!  It takes literally nothing to make me happy.

I've been wanting a little run all week....didn't feel like the sogginess of most of the week though and I'm avoiding the treadmill for running.....So, today is a gorgeous sunny day and I went out.  That was a straight through run.  No issues with my achilles, though my knees weren't too sure about it.  Not enough to make it miserable, but enough to remind me that they no longer enjoy this sport.  It was warmer and more humid than I thought, so I think that's why the HR was as high as it was....that and I haven't done any consistent running in months....
On the remainder of my agenda today:  Chisel Balance.**done  Grocery shopping.**done  Food prep.**done  Cleaning **done.
While I was at Kroger Thing One cleaned the living room....Got home and put everything away --only to pull half of it out for food prep. BUT, I was able to prep all my veggies for various dinners this week so there will be less fuss making dinner.  I made up a chicke[...]

I'm tapering to the point of being worrisome!  Had planned to work with my clients and then go for my long run.  But then they decided they wanted to do a deal and so I've been jumping through hoops all day to prep and at the last minute they decided to hold off and wait until Tuesday.  I ended up skipping a bunch of meals and now don't feel I have enough energy to run and I can't do the long trail run as it'll be dark within the hour.  Tomorrow I'm meeting clients in Grimsby - of course mid day - so not enough time to do the run before and I have to meet other clients when I get back to sign some paperwork.  Having two jobs is tiring but given my recent disappointments in my regular job I'm not willing to give up this right now...  I can't believe I might not get one more hilly longish run in before race day eek!!

Hey all. I am getting my mojo back. It has been out wandering un-attended and lost.  I have been working on some projects, at least: Barn quilts. The first two are done and installed. Three more are in the works, then three more to do. We are putting them on all of the cottages.

Thanks for all the thoughts. It really helps :) :) :)

Short bike ride this morning, just spinning this out. Then gear stop off (bike, swim-to-bike, bike-to-run bags).

After that, Kevin and I went to the Inclined rail up yo Lookout Mountain and we went to the national park there as well. We had lunch and then spent the afternoon hanging out in the room, early dinner at Mellow Mushroom, recheck the pre/post race bag, nutrition, and bike special needs bags for the morning. Hydrated (yes, with actual water). It's gonna be a hot one tomorrow! Current predicted high is 94 (Accuweather) or 95 (weather.com).

Happy Friday!

Rest Day from training. I might go for a walk after work, but no real training. I was so busy yesterday with work that I didn't have time, or energy, to a strength workout or go for a walk.

I had a great rest day. Never made it out for a walk. I did a lot of reading and just relaxed. :-)
