In Indiana, on vacation at the lake where Nate spent his summers growing up. Kids are riding bikes all over, tried waterskiing today, etc. Just taking it easy. Have a bunch of dinners and stuff with people.
Quads were pretty sore from Sunday's ride, so I was happy to lay low yesterday and today. Doing a lot of walking, which has felt good. Brought my road bike, so I'll probably do a few rides if I can find some decent roads out here, but I'm not sweating it. I'll do another long ride when I get back to CO next week.

If it is God's pleasure to give us the Kingdom then it should be our privilege to accept the gift.
Ok, so I really messed up.  Right Achilles is really sore last night and today.  I iced it last night when I went to bed and have been doing the eccentric stretch.  But man it's sore.  Dang!
May skip the ride tonight.
Planning weekend trip to Austin.
Huge thunderstorm rolled through starting at ~ 4 am and still lightening at 6:00 so I turned off the alarm.  Pulled some weeds in the light rain and enjoyed the morning.  I don't know what's wrong with me and why I am having so much trouble getting myself to work in the morning.

I did have a bit of a goggle failure: didn't seat them properly, starting filling up with water during the warm up. No big deal, reseat at the wall and keep going. Except this time BOTH eyes completely fill with water. Here's today's lesson: instead of swimming with eyes shut and swimming directly into a lane divider, I should have flipped over, emptied the water, reseated, and then kept going. That would have been practice. I'll remember that for next time.

I'm meeting a friend for an early dinner, so I am going to work very hard on remembering to go home and still do something active.  I think I can certainly run, at least a few miles.  I would also like to set-up the new bed frame I ordered.  It has to go from the garage to my 2nd story, so that should be a workout too.  It apparently weighs 95 lbs!   I also need to do some housework, etc.  I have spent way too much time watching TV the past few days...
My back hurts.  Probably from laziness.

No cycle commute today - showing a relatively high chance of rain and storms all day today - will be annoyed if it doesn't happen but what can ya do?
Funeral is Friday. Will be a bit of a trek all over the province. Will do the funeral in Strathroy on Friday and have the wedding on Saturday between Fenelon Falls and Bobcaygeon. Felicity better be comfortable in her car seat! i'll get Raffi and some other songs loaded up!
I am still really sad. Life can be so unfair.
Al had a son from his first marriage and he gave custody to his in-laws after his wife passed. Apparently he is driving down from Alberta to meet all of us.  So many things.

Went to Sports PT yesterday. I have tendonitis in some of my support bands in my upper left leg. Given some rehap exercises that seem to be helping already...so there's still hope! Off for a couple more days and will pick back up with swimming/biking and shelving running for a up to a week. I'm good with that. With this type of intense training there's always going to be something, we just do not know what that something is going to be!

I'm trying to figure out my options for biking this weekend.  I just cannot do anymore hills right now!  I also don't have time to drive down to the Eastern Shore.  So... I am thinking of getting up early and riding the W&OD trail starting at 6am and covering the entire thing from Shirlington to Purcellville (45 miles) and back.  Hopefully I'll get most of it in before the trail gets too crowded (and it gets too hot!).  I've been looking at the weather and last night called for thunderstorms Friday morning, so if that keeps up, I may take off Thursday.  Not excited about blowing a vacation day for this, but I just HAVE to get in some miles this weekend, am planning my run on Saturday with the run group, and Sunday I'm in Philly for a 1st birthday party.
