Mom, sister and niece are coming to visit today sometime. I need to get with the program and either go ride or swim.
Well, I didn't get with the program soon enough I guess. I spent the morning trying to determine fish oil quality and potency. Turns out the fish oil I've been giving DD is 66% Vitamin E which is derived from soy or soybean oil or something like that and soy is one of the things we have been avoiding because it has a high citric acid content. Don't ask me where I read that because I don't remember but we pulled soy a while ago. There is a high potency prescription fish oil that keeps being brought up on Feingold with a lot of success stories but it is pretty expensive and you have to get a doctor to prescribe. I think that is what we are going to try for DD. And it does not contain soy. DH read about it and said yep - lets do it. Headed for home this morning. We were hoping to drive straight through, but a big backup near Buffalo set us back and we played it safe by spending the night in northern Ohio. Lots of good things on the horizon for me. I'm starting a new nutrition/exercise program this week. This trip made me realize just what terrible shape I am in and it's not where I want to be!

I surpassed my expectations on the bike today. Not only did I make it all the way to the multi-use W&OD, but I kept going and made it into the city of Falls Church! I would have gone to the farmer's market, but, sadly, I got a bit lost.
My legs are toast, my arms are wobbly, and I am so happy. Do I wish I was stronger and didn't have to grind up the hills so much? Yes, of course. But I'll get there. Right now, I'm such a sweaty mess that I can't really imagine cycling to any kind of lunch date. I'm pretty disgusting right now! But again, I'll get there.
I used all the gears. ALL 8 GEARS!! This is so exciting for me, as before I've simply been too scared to pedal down hills. Today I had longer stretches without parked cars, so pedaling downhill was great. It's hard, but I'm loving my bike. :)

Ran a 1/2 marathon at (not a race) at Discovery Bay. It was super humid and unlike last week I did not negatively split the run. Really long week at work did not help either!

Having a somewhat day. Can't find my purse anywhere - feel like I remember bringing it out of the restaurant last night, but can't find it anywhere in my house or car. Called restaurant, they don't have it. Sinking feeling that someone might have taken it if I left it there, but so far no suspicious activity on my bank card. Only other option is that Nate used it for some reason, but he's golfing and not answering his phone. Guess I'll start cancelling cards once I hear from him. Grrr....
Limping around like a dork because the spot they biopsied on my foot is right where the bottom of my foot flexes when I push off the ball of my foot. Trying to take it easy. Went and lifted upper body weights only. 
Supposed to have lunch with a friend, not in the mood. Then dinner with a couple we don't really know tonight, and tomorrow I'm having race team over to ride and bbq. To say I'm not in the mood for any of this right now is an understatement!

Decent run  Would have done more, but with not having that much run volume this week I knew I had to stay at 4 miles.  Felt pretty consistent in my effort too.
Miss Thing found out that EX is also doing an internship this semester, it's possible he is on the biology side of the research she is doing in psychology.  She will find out this week for sure.  She's not happy, she feels like he's ruined her time to shine.  We had a long chat about it last night, she has to rise above and be professional.  He's the one who can't face her.
Thing One got her tutoring assignment for practicum this semester and she's quite happy--her minor is world studies and she will be assigned to a student from a devout Moslem family.  The professor was a wreck trying to figure out who to assign the student to and Thing One is ecstatic for the opportunity.  Her goal is to teach in a special ed program in UAE.......

Hmmm, not the greatest ride. I think my back brake caliper is loose. It keeps rubbing on the wheel. The entire ride, I had to keep braking to fix it...

Ran afterwards and felt absolutely great. I tried to slow it down a little, but it was a lot harder to run 30 seconds slower (ironman pace) than it was to just run normal pace. That could be a problem.
