Really not a good hip/leg day. I remembered last night that about 6 years ago, an orthopedist told me that I had FA impingement in my rt hip. So I Googled and all of my symptoms are consistent with this acting up. It hasn't acted up before - but he did tell me it was something to keep an eye out for . A friend of mine also has this and she had to have surgery on it last year, so I"m kind of freaking out abt that. So I made an appt - but he can't see me for another 2 weeks. I don't know if I"ll compete at Nationals anymore. The thing is, I'm most upset abt all of the money I put into races for this year that I probably won't do. I realize that's a stupid thing to be upset abt, but between the dog getting pneumonia and all of her vet visits (more than $1k so far - and of course I"m not going to NOT get my dog treatment), plus T has an issue with his leg as well and is in PT, plus the property taxes are due, plus my company didn't give raises this year. Well, this week was kind of a bust.  Weather issues on Tuesday, and I ended up working pretty late on Wednesday.  I am liking my new job, but it's exhausting!  In a good way, but I need to work on balancing work and training, especially as we go into August, my last hard month before taper.  3.5 hour run tomorrow and then 75-80 on the bike Sunday.  I have 60 on my schedule, but since my nutrition issues usually start after 50, I want to do a little extra to experiment with a few things.
My friend Joann is off today and was SUPER awesome and pre-made me a few pasta dishes since my stove is still out of commission (service guy comes next Wednesday).  I am at the end of my pay period and run out of hours at 1:30, so we are going to meet for a late lunch/HH at Bar Louie.  A coworker just sent out an email to my entire group inviting everyone to a happy hour at none other than Bar Louie at 4pm -- what are the odds?!  I like the people I work [...]

THANK YOU for your great and constant love and support.
Am safely in Perth. Had an acute onset of illness, turned out to be an enlarged liver and elevated liver enzymes. Likely due to a strain of dengue I've already had, so THANK GOD not dengue (again!) but ill effects nevertheless :(
However, made it to Perth (was advised getting out, staying out, lying low for a few weeks was better than staying in Indonesia). Like a self med-evac. Ha.

Mostly upper body and abs, some rolling, stretching. I did do some jump squats, but I kept it light on the legs. 15 miles tomorrow, after dancing up a storm on the city clipper tonight!

Heading up to Beaver Creek for the weekend with Nate - his parents are coming to stay with the kids for a couple of days. Should be nice. I'm going to drag him mountain biking. Otherwise, I plan to sleep in and chill out in the hot tub a lot.

Also, yesterday I got a new Fitbit badge for 15,000 steps, and today I swam 1500 yards, which is my longest workout so far. Perhaps I'll find $1,500 later today? That can't be too much to ask, right?

Omg I am just .4 from a whopping 30 miles for the month.   I'm still wearing my running clothes, maybe I better go back out!
Running went pretty well.  The weather helped.  My hurt toe has caused me to over compensate and walk funny, so it took a while for my foot to loosen up. I was worried to begin with   But after about .5 miles it was fine.   Phew, back on track I think!

Feeling fully recovered.

Working today and then leaving tonight (overnight flight) for New Jersey. I am going with Mike for his family vacation in Ocean City, NJ. It should be fun. I really like his parents and his two sisters. I have not yet talked to/met his brother. All the nieces and nephews will also be there.

Hanging out at the hospital waiting for the doctor to show up so we can move the MIL over to the nursing facility. Don't know what will happen long term. Fred and his brother will have to make a decision to let her go home or move her into an assisted living facility and neither of them want to make it, but it is not mine to make. It's hard, because she is pretty sharp mentally and can generally take care of herself, but she keeps falling and each time, it's a little worse. This time, she slipped in the grass on a hill and hit her head, but she could have just as easily slipped and fallen in the pool.
