Nate's company party was nice last night. His current crop of employees are a good group of people. Tonight we're taking the kids to the Nutcracker, today is the last day of school. I have GOT to finish the painting I'm working on before I do anything else today, but I'd also like to squeeze in a short bike ride if I can.
Up to my eyeballs in workshop registrations. I've got three sessions almost full, which is GREAT, but handling all the paperwork and checks and emails is enough to make me wish I had a secretary ;)
And I hate computers. For the record.

And the never-ending saga continues...
We found out yesterday that the building manager that I talked to in September about the noise upstairs being unbearable and assured me that we would be able to move out without penalty completely FAILED to put any notes in our file, and didn't contact the person she promised to contact about moving out.  Conveniently (perhaps a little too conveniently?), the new building manager "hasn't been able to get in touch" with the previous manager and so the options we've now been given are to pay $3,000, or just keep paying rent until they re-let the apartment.  Awesome.
The upstairs neighbour got home around 10:30pm last night, stomped around for a bit and finally went to bed only to get up at 6am this morning and stomp around FOR AN HOUR.  This wouldn't be so bad if my alarm wasn't scheduled to go off at 7:30am.  Tony is going to go over to the office this afternoon and sit down with the manager again and take the audio[...]

OMG, I don't know what the hell I've been doing this week.... oh right, emergency root canal and implant surgery.  Nonetheless, it is time for me to get my butt back in gear!  And it's going to start tomorrow morning, not sure if I'm going to do the Arlington group's run at 8:00 or the tri team's hash run at 10:15.. I missed the Arlington group last Saturday b/c of PMP exam, so I kinda want to do that.. BUT... 10:15 is awfully appealing as well.  Either way, I am definitely going to the [cold, outside] bike ride on Sunday.. I already emailed the coach and said I'd be happy to pair up with a newer member who needs a ride buddy, so I'm kinda on the hook for that.

Yesterday morning when I woke up, I did not want to be here. I wanted to be at home with my chair to prop up my feet with a cat on my lap. By mid morning, I remembered why I love it here so much. It is so beautiful. We are high on a hill with jungle around us and a beautiful view of the ocean on two sides of the house. Birds come and pluck insects out of the pool in the morning and monkeys howl as they pass by. Fresh papaya and pineapple with eggs and black beans for breakfast, fresh fish for dinner, and cerveza and peanuts in between. It definitely does not suck!

On the foot front: I took drugs last night before bed and it made a world of difference. Today, I'm wearing my boot hoping that it will keep it calmed down. I don't feel like I did that much on it yesterday, but the concrete here takes a toll quickly.

Yesterday at our team lunch I had even MORE of an epiphany about how great my work situation is. Christine had each of us say one thing we loved about each of the other gals on the team - this is probably only something you can do with an all-female group - but the sentiments and thoughts were so genuine and touching, I surprisingly loved it. A lot of the compliments to me were about how drama-free and even-keeled I was; I don't get worked up about a whole lot (positive or negative) and that is such an asset to our team. My boss said this to me in my performance review as well and it is probably the best professional compliment I've ever received. I work hard to be drama free and get done - it's so nice to have that noticed.
Anyway after that, she gave a little speech about how each of us were such STARS to her and how much she appreciates all that we do and how we've really gelled as a team into more than just co-workers - and that as a team full of STARS, we can do anything. She[...]

And the minute by minute countdown has begun!  We are inside due to rain today, so far the kids are pretty calm, but the ones we have now are PRE-party, we will have some POST-party kiddos a litte later, I'm sure there will be a difference!  Done with kids at 11:35, but I have to stay and do crossing guard duty at 1:15 and then I. am. out. of. here.  I am sooooooooooooo soooooooooo looking forward to my break, best part of being a teacher!

We got about a half inch of fluffy snow yesterday morning. It melted away by the afternoon but was a nice break from the ever-present grey landscape.
Was sleeping too well this morning to get up and run, might squeeze something in this evening if time allows.

Today is my last day of work for the year.  The university is closed the 24th-5th (mostly holidays with two mandatory vacation days in there on 12/29 and 1/2).  As you know, my vacation was messed up by the accident/surgery in September and I had three days left so I'm taking tomorrow as well as the 22nd and 23rd off.
√ In terms of training, today is a rest day.  I'll do TRX, etc. tonight when I do my PT.
