Scott left to go home this morning and we checked out of the condo and into the hotel for Nate's credit union meeting. It's at the Biltmore, which is pretty swank - and free, thanks to the bank! :)
Taking it easy today - I was pretty sore this morning. The hotel is right next to a bunch of trails in the Phoenix Mountain Preserve, so I'll try to squeeze in a couple of rides before we head home. Meeting up with a friend to paint tomorrow....

Breakfast: juice pulp muffin & a GREEN Juice: apple, pear, cucumber, pineapple, kale, lime & spirulina
Lunch: apple slices & brie on a croissant
Snack: 1/3 YELLOW Juice: yellow pepper, pineapple, lemon and ginger
Dinner: 6" Subway falafel sub on a flatbread with vegetables & tzaziki, macademia nut cookie

Could have logged this as a swim!  Foggy humid morning.
decided to join the afternoon pool volleyball game at the RV park.  Seems I've torn up something in my "good" shoulder.  Hopefully it is muscles and not mote ligaments or other stuff.

My mom is doing great. She is alert and her pain is being managed. She will be in the ICU for another day or so before being moved to a regular room. She is expected to be discharged home in about 10 days. We are so fortunate! I know how rare of a chance she has been given.

I did a workout early this morning and am doing some work. My dad is at the hospital and I will be going down soon to take the afternoon/evening shift.

Thank you for all of the positive thoughts and support!

It's been nice to get back in the pool after taking all of last week off following the race. I feel a bit sluggish - I suspect that it's a result of the cold that's almost gone, as well as not having swum since the race.

Our house is still on the market. People keep saying it's a hot market, good for sellers. We've had a bunch of folks look at the house, but no offers. Hard not to get down about it. I wonder if that somehow feeds into the quality of the workouts.

9:38am:  Feeling better after a good night's sleep.  I think I probably always say that on Wednesday mornings...
Looking forward to my 4-day weekend coming up.  I need a break from here....

Up this morning at 5:30 to head to Barton Springs Pool, which is actually a lake that's been dammed off and is a spring-fed open water venue that's 1/8 mile long.  Perfect! Tony and I got up to swim, but also to bring the wetsuits to 2 of our friends who are doing NOLA 70.3 for the first time (actually, they're choosing a 70.3 for their first triathlon EVER) and wanted to try on our wetsuits.  It was also good for us to get some swimming in, as I really couldn't tell you the last time I did any open water swimming... IMTX is going to be brutal.
I'm a little afraid that I'm coming down with something, and as much as I'm just hanging on by the skin of my teeth to the thought that I just might be able to finish IMTX, if I get sick and derailed any more, it just ain't happening.  Where are the throat lozenges, I need a Costco-sized bag!
In other news, I was supposed to get my new Betty team kit the other day, but apparently when you fill out a PERMANENT address [...]

GSC-10 came in last night. I got it installed on the SL*T and synced to the Timex.  I tested it out fine, but I may take it for a spin tonight.  I'll have to wait and see.  I also move the old Cat-Eye wired onto le Fantome' since I have it and nothing was on the bike prior to this. I was able to dig up some black zip ties.  I guess the IT department is good for something ;
I ran into this today and it is a good piece of advice for any triathlete or really, any person in general. Long term goals are the hardest to pursue, just due to the nature of the beast. Immediate results and rewards are so much more the coveted ones in today's society. But as the song says, "scars heal, glory fades and all we're left with are the memories made". I think we appreciate a little more those memories which were built through effort and time.
