I just need to survive today and tomorrow at work and can then run away to home (Cincy) for a few days. :-) Leaving tomorrow night! Of course the weather in SD is so sunny and warm. The weather in Cincy is cold. Oh well, I need a break away from my life.

I am ready to see some family and celebrate my mom's birthday! She has been through so much this past year and is a survivor of Stage III pancreatic cancer! Glad I will be going to her doc appointment with her this coming Monday. She has another CT scan and blood work in April. This will occur every 3 months for a year and then every 6 months.

As I continue to wallow in the pain of my fall, a couple of positive observations. I almost ran a 50k on a complete whim and if I had, I would have finished with a good time, maybe a pr. Even after hurting myself, I kept plowing ahead at a reduced, but decent pace. I didn't quit even though the course allowed for a couple of easy outs. Even though I hurt a lot from the fall, my legs feel great.

10 years ago today (technically Saturday since the day after the Super Bowl 2006 was on Feb 6th)  I started this journey.  My weight at the time was about 285 - 290 pounds!  My plan was to start Nutri System when the Steelers fell out of the playoffs.  That year they made an unexpected run to the Super Bowl as a wild card team (they beat the Seahawks btw!) .
By the early fall of that year the weight was down a fair amount, I had ran my first 5K and it was then that I joined BT.  Since then through tri training, run training and occasionally some strength training I have managed to keep the weight off.  Sometimes it creeps up over 200 but usually that is the off season and when training resumes I can get it back into the 180's.  Right now I am in the mid 180's and this year the goal is to go lower than usual and try to race IM Choo in the low 170's or even upper 160's.  At 5'7 or so (depending on which convenient store I'm leaving) that is not[...]

Great time at the Super Bowl Party! Broncos won! Whooo Hoo! AND I won the final score square! $275!!! Never really happens to me. Whoop!

Run was chilly and awesome. Hit th from last summer! YES! I'm sure I overachieved, but it didn't feel like it during the run. Went to the National Training Center in Clermont for weights/core in the am with Nina and ran into Chris L who now coaches and lives here. Wanted to swim but steam was blowing off the pool. Its out doors and heated. But it was in the 40's. Yeah, no. :) Good workouts pre bowl party.

Made myself leave the house. Got a manicure and a pedicure, then went to NY and Company and got myself a new pair of cheap black dress pants as well as some assorted costume jewelry.
Came home and Chris suggested we go out for a beer prior to the Superbowl. We went to Penrose (the same place we went on Friday... because Chris left his credit card there!) and we had a beer, paid both tabs, and went home. I made some dip and we watched the Superbowl. I was rooting for Carolina, mostly because I like their color scheme better and they're not a big huge well known Superbowl franchise. But alas, they lost.

1 too many glasses of wine last night and it was a pajama sofa type day. It has been a long time since I went out with friends and just sat and talked, laughed and drank. It was kind of nice but it also made today a rough day since we didn't get home until 1am and the boys (Gus/Koda) were back up at 6am.

New PR. (Happy, but probably should have been able to do this faster). I did place 9th in my AG, though, so that's nice. And some nice ladies from NYC Harriers who I was pace bootying asked me to join their running club. The runner equivalent of asking for someone's digits.
