I had planned to go snowshoeing at first light this morning, but I looked out the window and the flag was whipping around from the wind and I decided to stay in the nice, toasty house. We got a bunch of rain yesterday which compacted and froze the snow, then another dusting of snow overnight. I'm curious to see how the snowshoes do on the ice. Might get out later this afternoon.

Going to need to go in and have a little repair work done on my 4th toe. A tendon pulled the bone out of position when it was healing and now it isn't aligned properly. Doc says won't be nearly as bad as the 1st surgery and I should be in a boot for two weeks. I don't want to reschedule cardiac rehab yet again, so I'm thinking of getting it fixed around the end of May.

Yesterday was day THREE of decent nutrition and workouts. Definitely starting a roll here!

OK, hopefully I'm not speaking too soon but I do feel better this morning. Back to work and hopefully back to some good workouts.

Steve is flying home from Florida today. Hopefully his flight won't be impacted by the winter storm.

I figure I would write it down here for now then transfer it to a more appropriate location.  Decided to "blog" about my new adventure - Crossfit.  Hopefully as an unbiased "skeptic"...  Or does claiming I was a skeptic make me biased from the offset?
Tiny bit of a history...  I really haven't been motivated to workout in a LONG time.  Nothing really stuck.  I would start something then would quit after about two weeks.  Tried running, walking, swimming again and had an ok time for a while then ended it.  Wasted $300 on a  yoga membership.  Went hard for about a month then quit again.  It was "ok" but I never got excited about anything.
I NEEDED to do/find something since I have been putting on weight and the doctor came back with some high cholesterol numbers that needed some attention.  Clothes are tight and uncomfortable, etc.

Weight is falling but I don't believe it's weight loss. The scale hasn't moved much lately but the muscle has diminished and I'm softer now. I think my body is just letting go of all the garbage. My eating is very good - juicing (learned to make muffins from the pulp!), limited meat, no processed foods, and trying to up my water. Goal is 1500 calories per day. I think my body naturally burns around 2000-2200 with the dog walking and then I don't eat the calories burned via exercise so I'm hopeful it'll fall off though skeptical that I've lost any yet.
My body is TIRED!  I'm sore from the little amount of strength training I did yesterday.  I'm going to have to slowly ease in to strength training otherwise I'll be sore everywhere and unable to do anything for days eek.  My legs are tired from running.  It's a good sore/tired though.  Sleeping like a baby every night.

Started the day shoveling a quarter inch of slush off the sidewalk and lower driveway. I think we're supposed to get another inch or two of snow today, but not sure because we're right on the edge. Have a follow up appointment for my foot later this morning, then I need to concentrate on the office. If it's snowing, that won't be easy to do.

super stressed day. Just super crabby due to things I can't control and have to deal with. Really hope tomorrow goes better. Finished out the 28 day run challenge yesterday. Nothing fell off and I enjoyed the daily runs. I should have embraced my new ftp numbers today, but I'm taking a powder due to stress and events out of my control. Looking forward to running a bit harder at least.

Wow. When vacation ends, it really ends. :(
