Definitely a bit creaky feeling today after yesterday's very short run! Legs are like, "what was that?!?!"
Had an eye doctor appt this morning and they dilated my eyes, so I can't see . Boo. We'll see how painting goes like this! Hopefully I can squeeze in some ride time before I get the kids from school. If I can see by then, that is.
Managed to ride, although it was a bit odd with dilated eyes!! Also rode a couple extra miles picking up Owen from school - I love love love that he can ride his bike to the new school! Meeting Molly tomorrow morning to ride Dedisse/Three Sisters. So nice to finally be meeting some gals in Evergreen that I can ride with.

I don't ask for much, but would appreciate people doing their own jobs. The "lead" teacher for my online class messed up every single date, for every single assignment for the semester. Now I have to go back in manually and correct every single one which might not be so bad if she weren't getting paid significantly more to have it inputted correctly the first time. When I asked to be sure I just didn't somehow miss the memo on how the dates needed to be she said it was "good to have a second set of eyes" No, it'd be good for her to just do what she's being paid to do.

8:20am: One of my co-workers brought in bagels from Panera and my boss brought me a Brookie (brownie bottom and chocolate chip cookie top ... SO good, SO rich). Not helpful in terms of trying to stick to a set CICO. #toughlife #firstworldproblems
5x5 and cardio today. Kate will be training in the basement until 5pm, so I'm kind of planning on heading outside to do some walking first and then I'll hit strength afterwards. Squats @ 110# will be a challenge today! I love squats. I'm weird like that.
Ten months until the Grizzly Double half marathon. I've been ramping up workouts for Utah, so that's on track. And for the past 2 weeks I've been calorie counting on MyFitnessPal, which has been interesting, but not full of a lot of results yet. Seriously, I gain and lose the same damn 3 pounds over and over and over. I feel like I might need to get really strict if I want to lose weight. My alternative, which is starting to sound more rational the longer it bounces around my head, is to[...]

Cancelled our LTF membership today. It will be good through September. I was loathe to do it, but the fees keep going up, we live a minimum of 25' with no traffic away, and I just can't justify the family spending $1700 so I can run if its out with my people come winter. We've been members there since they opened in the Michigan market...16 years? Not gonna do the math on all the years I barely went pre triathlon/post race season/sonce we've moved or a per visit accounting lol.

Taper crazy is happening. The girl started her job yesterday and is going from zero to 31 hours a week! I hope her chronic fatigue doesn't get the best of her. She enjoyed the day yesterday, so hoping all goes well again today.

The boy starts class Thursday. Dave and I will have the house a bit more to ourselves. Nice.

We are trying to plan when we are going to visit our family in FL and CA this winter. Excited to see them in October in Vegas too! :D

Pretty Running - lean forward, roll off your big toes, keep hand above your waist, look about 6 feet in front of you with your eyes, drive your elbows back and never cross your midline with your hands.

Pull Drill - Focus will be on learning to 'catch' the water with your forearm and pull yourself through the water. If you feel your lats (the muscles under your arm pits that go down the side of your back) engage, then you are starting to get it. If your shoulders are tired, then you are still using too much shoulder and not enough lats.

Kick (Regular) - regular kickboard kick or kick on back with hands over head, fingers locked.

I may be coming up for air. I feel like it has only been a few minutes, but it looks like August is already over. I don't want to say I'm feeling good yet, but I'm having an okay day. Stay focused. One day at a time, then see the doctor in a couple weeks and start getting things sorted out. Breathe.
Also, biking tonight. On the trainer, because cars are terrifying. Goal for next season - start riding with one of the bike shop groups. They have to be nice....they like to ride bikes!

Day 6

Actually felt like I might have been a triathlete at one point in my life and consequently I pushed harder than I needed to on the run. Maybe the post run stretches are working? Sadly, though, 5.5 hours sleep is average for me. Still committed to working on that which will bring the RHR down as I've seen in the past. Just doesn't help being awake and stressed all the time. Will try to get back into Thursday yoga next week as I've got a business trip tomorrow.

Didn't sleep well last night.  My own damn fault, mixed the affiliatespam with leftover coffee and had it too late in the afternoon.
Interior work is done.  Love how things turned out--now comes putting the house back in order ....They will be power washing the siding and painting the exterior trim too.  No, not getting it ready to put on the market, just doing necessary maintenance.  When I move out of this house it will be to a beach property full time.
Started to reorganize closets at lunch.  I pared so much crap out of mine that I can hang my bike shorts and jerseys--which means they won't be all over the floor of the closet!! WIN WIN.  John thinned out a few things he doesn't wear to add to our ever expanding Good Will box.

I watched the second episode for the week of Drama and Drinkers that we had on the DVR and I am just so over this. Yes, I am going to watch the MOST DRAMATIC FINALE EVER!!! just so that I can test my pain threshold, I guess.  Suffice it to say that if anyone believes this show is about love, they are gullible. I have a bridge for sale. Wow, the level of dysfunction. I'm not sure any of these fame whores should be entrusted to vote. Or drive. Or drink. The fact that some are parents just shows what a fine decision maker Jimmy Feigen is.
BTW, do you think there was a 5th guy with them when they left the party that was like "Oh, no room in the taxi, I'll just take the next one"? If there was, is anyone happier than that guy?
