Reaching out to a different dog sitter to see if I can book someone to watch Bentley over Christmas. My regular sitter is already booked for house sitting, so I asked her about boarding (him staying at her house) and she replied that she just got a dog of her own and it would probably be too hectic. My work BFF had mentioned she was willing to watch Bentley, but the last time we talked about it she was lukewarm with it being over Christmas. I had said something like she could just drop in and not have to have him at her house, but honestly that would be a pain for both of them (she lives probably 30 minutes from me). SIGH. Fingers crossed for this house sitter. I really don't want to board him.
5 miles on tap this afternoon; assuming we will be let go after lunch time today. WHOOP!

Dad started bag 3 of 5 today at noon. So far he is doing ok. He seems to not have as much energy today. He didn't have to be restrained last night or sedated but didn't sleep well. My middle older sister and kids are here and the other sister and kids are coming in tomorrow. Dad is in a private room, I was hoping it was for medical safety but it is my dad's restless nights keeping others up.

After 3 night of Theraflu - I am starting to feel a bit better. Still masked anytime I am around dad.

Got my ride in late last night - think I finally crawled into bed at 11, eek!! We had a crazy busy couple of days with sleepovers, play dates, framing and delivering paintings downtown, and dinner with friends last night. I was actually going to ride yesterday afternoon, but spent almost an hour getting my new Garmin (woot!) all set up.
Super jazzed to actually use the new Garmin on trails. I'm mainly geeking out about the Strava live feature so I can see how I'm tracking compared to my PR on climbs. I think that'll be hugely helpful to me on hard rides. I'll eventually figure out mapping too.
Have a night ride set up with the team tonight. Mostly fast dudes, so I will be chasing them. Hoping I get one or two women to show up and keep me company in the rear.
I did super well with the wheat-free eating for about 5 weeks. This week has been tough with the holidays, and I've had spaghetti, dessert, cookies, etc. Knees are sore. Sinuses are meh. Good reminder that[...]

My 15 minutes more sleep turned into over an hour, but the workout was only 30 minutes so I was safe.
Sweet!  MedScape had a continuing ed power point on PrEP and PEP meds & I have a little more info on this with a few more optional courses I can take!

This cold is in my ears now. Don’t think it’s from the flu shot since the rest of
the fam had the same cold. Feeling ok though and so happy the sun came out. I’m spending the rest of the day fighting off the teenage boys from eating all of the thanksgiving dinner food early. It might get physical. They are vultures.

Yeah, so my mind has been all over the place again, that's why I haven't been posting heavy training thoughts the past few days. I think sometimes I get overwhelmed by everything going on that my mind shuts down and I get nothing of value accomplished.

My friend's son was on Steve Austin's Broken Skull Ranch show last night. I hadn't even heard of the show before he went on it, but now I'm addicted to it. Can't wait to go back and watch the previous seasons. He got eliminated the first round, which sucks, but those competitors are totally badass!

Doing a turkey trot tomorrow with my 90+ year old friend who has run more than 40 marathons, but now walks. So we'll go his pace - which will most likely be difficult for me to match. :)

Swimming this morning, the pool will be closed for Thanksgiving break until next Monday. I love swimming at the college - until they start closing for holidays. Oh well, I'll get as much as I can in......

8:24am: Friday! Not sure if today will be a shortened day or not ... sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't. Regardless, I'm ready to be all zen-like during what will be a very long commute home due to holiday traffic. People are just trying to get to where they want to go and me being agitated isn't going to get any of us anyplace any quicker.
Busy afternoon. I'll have to gather up Belle and her stuff and deliver her to the daycare place where she'll be staying while I'm in Boston. Then a short trainer ride. Laundry. Packing. All the normal harried, last minute stuff that goes on before heading out on a trip. I'm looking forward to seeing the Boston area and my sister and her new house and all, but I'd like to skip all the crap in between me and that point in time.
