TGIF. I will probably do a short (2 mile or so) run later just to keep the legs loose. I'm trying to think through the logistics for tomorrow's race -- doing two distances back to back will be something I've not done. The weather is what has me thinking --- forecast is for cooler temps with rain and 14 mph winds. Ugh, thank you Mother Nature.

There will be about 15 minutes between when I finish the mini and start the sprint. I had thought about changing into dry clothes but that doesn't seem worth it.

And what the heck do you wear on the bike when it is cold and raining? Thinking I need to go pick up a lightweight rain jacket today.

Oh, and I broke my good Tifosi cycling glasses so there's one more thing I need to buy today.

Before you plan on running the race of your life, talk to this guy. He reallly did run his most memorable race ever, at Boston:

Who was the dad who led the #BostonMarathon at mile one? This guy: http://t.co/DSpvEYlMtmpic.twitter.com/INX7jSLC5m — Runner's World (@runnersworld) April 24, 2015

I've had a heavy heart this week and have put off talking about it because that means it's real then. Last weekend Brian started the conversation of "what is this, where are we going" and it's been really weighing on me. I have no idea what's going to happen, where we will end up. It's difficult to think about. It gives me anxiety and heartache. I am hoping we have a chance to talk tonight or tomorrow before he travels for another week.
Swim tonight, bike ride in the morning before heading to OKC, OKC marathon relay Sunday with my work team. I'm running the 12K leg - the weather looks perfect.

Pain is inevitable, Suffering is optional - anon.
Time to stop suffering.
I was looking forward to riding my bike to work today as kind of a reward or bonus for getting up and getting moving.  I was all ready to go to work, only had to pull on my clothes.  as I reached for my cycling (to work) clothes there was a downpour, and as if that wasn't enough big bolts of lightening and thunder.  A glance at the radar indicated it was going to last for a while.   ... ok Universe, I can take a hint when you hit me over the head with a 2x4.  :-)
Ok so I've got some pain.  Lost girlfriend, lost baby, anniversary of my father's death.  It's been a tough two weeks, and last night I felt like a truck had run over me.  I've wallowed in being sad for almost two weeks, and couldn't find happiness even though I tried.  I'm just starting to see a little light at the end of the tunnel.  Hope it's not an oncoming locomotive.  ... and that[...]

Tri bike no happy.  When I went to BikeMS last September, my tri bike was in the shop for a tune up.  I didn't have a chance to ride it until last month (not approved for aero plus the whole marathon thing).  It worked OK but the shifting is just bad the past three rides.  Kevin is working from home today and offered (ok, I begged) to drop it off at the mechanic's for me.  If Matt can't take care of it on the spot, I can pick it up but I'm at work early during the week so a morning drop off is a no go.  I put the rack on my car this morning so I'm prepared to pick up.  I think that White Lake will go much better next weekend if I have all of my gears
UPDATE:  Tri bike all fixed up.  I get to ride 'er tomorrow.

Someone make me go workout....... Didn't sleep very well up at 2:30, 3:30, 4:30 and at 5:15 I said forget it. Time for the Natural Calm again I guess.
Interesting, this weeks story from DD's reading book is Winner's Never Quit written by Mia Hamm. It's all about her growing up and learning not to be a sore loser. One of the accompanying books is Lance Armstrong. Time for an update in the reading series. I had to bite my tongue big time when DD was reading this one. It's all about how hard he worked and how he never gave up to become a Champion. Umm, and then there was the rest of the story....but I didn't go there. She thought it was cool how he swims and bikes like Mommy so I left it at that! LOL!

Happy Friday. It is beautiful out. I hope to get out of work a tad early to walk the dog and maybe get some weeding in. It is supposed to rain and be chilly tomorrow and I am supposed to be at a booth at an Earth Day celebration. I believe I am going to skip out on my duty and get some indoor chores done. And do the "Pine Gables StairStepper" taking all the potted plants outside for the summer. A lot of plants need to go from the sunporch upstairs to their summer quarters outside. A rainy day is good for that. Hope the knee sucks it up.

11:57am:  Work is stressing me out.  When I have to start being confrontational and aggressive with tech support people, you know it's gotten bad -- I normally go out of my way to avoid both of those things.
Gorgeous day out -- I should have called off!  Going for a walk after work, for sure.

Marginally better today. Still with the massive headache and feeling weak, but I'm slowly getting an appetite back. Baby steps. No way I'm racing tomorrow though :( :( I feel like I'm losing fitness every minute that I sit on the damn couch.
