Mid-Day: Skipped my 3km run. Oh Man!  Testing is taking forever and my shoulders are so freaking tight from stress. Body is going to feel like a train wreck tomorrow!  Hope this isn't going to be a late night!  I still haven't purchased my gels and race food eek.
Evening: Another typical day in my life.  Leave work at a decent hour and high tail it over to MEC to buy crew Injinji socks in hopes the longer sock will reduce the amount of gunk that might get in my socks on a wet trail - and to get my endurance tap gels.  No luck - sold out of both.  Race to go pick up hubby and dog and I hear something weird with my tire.  Pull over and I have the biggest bolt sticking out of it.  Like a screw that is big enough to have a washer and bolt on the end.  Of course - nothing is open at 7pm on a Friday night.  We are a one car family and my race is 1.5 hours away.  Hubby is pissed about car tire and decides he feels better if he blames [...]

The usual back stiffness/soreness.  No pain after I am up/moving around, but a little tension.  I talked to Bert and he suggested that I should keep a diary of how I feel after which workouts (or lack of) to pinpoint what helps/hurts.  Good advice.
Now if I could just remember the names of things we did...  I did the best I could remember below.  I normally can take a picture of the whiteboard, but I think he made this stuff up last night as he went.   I was working with just one other girl who doesn't have a very focused work ethic in the gym.  I was lapping her on exercises. I hope it didn't bother her, but set a good example.  I am lucky I am strong and it comes easily to me.  So anyway, after I was done with each set he would tell me the next and so on until we ran out of time.

Woke up just after 4:00am and couldn't get back to sleep for an hour. I probably should've just gotten up then to run and then gone to bed for an hour or so afterwards. The next few weekends are going to be pretty crazy. I need to focus on getting in quality, longer stuff in during the week. Have made plans to park at work tonight early and get in a decent walk beforehand.

Late night today. Run done. I have a few errands to run today before work, and some homework as well.
Oh yeah, the new tv show season is starting up andif you think creativity is dead, you are right. I know this because "MacGyver" has been rebooted. As a dude growing up in the 80's, you know I was all over that, right? Well, lemme tell ya. it SUCKED! I quote all white girls under the age of 30, "I can't even". Man oh man, the cheese level was at Wisconsin status. Combined with the new Ted Danson show, "The Good Place" and you have some of the deepest buckets of crap on television. Neither show gets past 6 episodes. Feel free to share your choice of first cancelation, I am choosing "The Good Place" to go to the Great Beyond first.

Heading down the hill for a road bike ride with Julie from my team. She lost her job, so I told her I'd ride with her sometime. Unfortunately, all these daytime rides are really cutting into my studio time - I'm going to have to tone it down and get to work later next week. I tend to want to get out and photograph this time of year, and that is what I've been doing, but I do have a couple of deadlines that I need to get to work on.
After we ride, I'm meeting a guy to buy some new bike shoes - he posted a ton of brand new carbon soled Pearl Izumi MTB shoes on Facebook for $50. Pearl fits me well and mine are getting wrecked, so I jumped on it. Good deal for a pair of shoes that retailed for $300.
Tonight and tomorrow are uber busy with kid events and dinners etc. Then on Sunday Nate and I are leaving to head up to Aspen for a few days, sans kids. It'll be nice to go and just chill for a few days. I'm looking forward to a good nap and a long hike, and otherwise will be happy [...]

Lunch bike and then a short swim.  I think I have my new "real" FTP pretty close.  Going with 270 for now - shooting for 300.  I really don't feel like killing myself for 20 minutes to estimate my real one.

Finally back to a normal volume of training after a succession of injuries (some major) over the past 15 months: 113 miles of running, 325 miles of cycling, ~10,000m swimming for September.

For some reason, my activity tracker has me sleeping abnormally long hours. Last night I had to get up to use the bathroom and it does not register that I woke up. Oh well.

The plan is that today is going to be the last day for caffeine. I had my last dose 30 minutes ago, and I have nothing to do this weekend and I have a very light week for the next two weeks. It has to be now or never.

My nutrition has been absolute garbage. This week I have been focusing on getting recovered from my 50k race last Saturday. My legs are now doing better.

I am very excited that my new shoes are here. Hoka Cliftons 2. Tomorrow is the day I will use them.

I'm taking today as a rest day and plan to ride the bike this weekend.  Next week, I hope to get into some kind of routine.
Chattanooga was my fifth iron distance event.  Kevin put some follow Janyne info on Facebook this time and my manager say it.  Then she saw the Janyne is off the bike and on the run photos he posted.  Then she was the halfway done with the run photo and finally the finisher photo.  She was like, "Wow!  I didn't know that it took so long!"  Um, yeah...

TGIF! Fridays are always enjoyable but I'll be even more glad to flip the calendar over to Friday over the next 9-12 months. Easy day at work and then heading back to Bluffton for the weekend.
The workout plan said this for today's workout: "There aren't many exercises in this total-body workout, but I promise that you'll be challenged and feel great after you're done!" Yes. When I first looked at it I thought, "Really? Only 4 exercises?" But yes indeed, that was sufficient for a challenging full-body workout!

Db thrusters, lat pulldown, plank row, SL squats
