Happy rainy May Day. We really, really, really needed the rain.
The first magnolia opened up today :)

House is quiet ... though it's always quiet on a Sunday.
I've been eBaying up a storm ... sold a Nest thermostat and an old phone and two other items up for bid! Both sold items were bought within an hour of me posting them. Priced to sell, that's my motto.
My allergies are killing me! That's all. Just needed to vent momentarily.
And I need to start writing again. I've mostly been reading -- another landslide of books in from the library all at the same time (I swear the librarians do this just so that they can evilly cackle in anticipation of the late fees I'll be paying).
Second week of my 1200-1400 calorie diet is still going well. I have to say, I'm starting to get used to eating this little. Still losing more weight than I mathematically should as well... down another 2.5 pounds when it should only be about 1 pound. And -- as you can tell from my lovely graphs over to the right -- I'm not really training at all.

You know, I’m happier right now than I can remember in a long time. I feel a peace inside me that has been absent for a very long time. I love being outside doing something active and productive and being able to take the time to enjoy spring and my surroundings. I love waking up in the morning excited to get going, and not stressed because I have to figure out a way to get my training in as well as 40 other things that need to be done around here. I love being able to linger in bed and listen to the birds wake up if I want to. I feel really healthy and contented right now and it’s a great feeling. I am 100% certain that backing out of the HIM was the right choice. I don’t like quitting, but sometimes you need to let your common sense take over and do what is right for you and the circumstances. I’ve been thinking about entering a 14 week summer body composition challenge to keep myself accountable with nutrition, but the truth of the matter is that I like being free from counti[...]

So I had a great half marathon.
Now the focus is weight loss, cycling and running.  Need to build my Bike focus and lose at least 5 lbs before Quassy.  Oh, I'm going gluten-free for the month of May.  Going to see how it makes me feel.  Nothing to lose... but my gut!!!

Ugh - look at that yellow week! I feel so lazy, but the weather and the stress just got to me this week.
Went out for dinner with some friends last night, which was just what the doctor ordered. Chilled me out after my stress freakout about the show yesterday afternoon. Slept in this morning. Feeling much more human now!!
Aspen has a volleyball tournament this afternoon, and I've got to get my bike on the trainer at some point today. Still snowing.

My roommate has officially moved out. It was something that had been on the horizon for awhile, but it still kind of took me by surprise (in a non-surprising way, if that makes any sense).
For the past 7-8 months she hadn't been spending much time here, so it's not like it's going to change much, but still, the house feels empty. And there won't be the stop-in's to pick up some clothes for the weekend or anything like that. She'll still be training a few clients here and since her client-base is all in this area (as opposed to her girlfriend's house where she moved to), she's still going to stop here for lunch to feed and walk Belle .... so it's not like she's entirely gone. Still, I'm feeling a touch lonely.
I'll be fine. Just a change to adapt to and move forward.
So, no activity yesterday except moving stuff. Which I count for at least a little something.

Nice day in Lynchburg.  Stopped in at a florists that had great YELP reviews and found the reviews were spot in.  She loved her flowers.  Had dinner at a restaurant near the florists that we had never noticed before--excellent food!  The show was FANTASTIC!  And...drum roll please......my girl is taking the job offer at Dinwiddie.  I think it's the best possible fit for her right now.
It's pouring today.  I'm heading to the gym to swim since I guess that would be kind of necessary if I'm going to do the aqua bike division in July.

Picked up the LBS owner's Specialized Diverge yesterday, he suggested I just keep it for a couple of days and ride it as much as I can. It rained most of the day but I was able to take it for a quick spin, sans helmet and shoes, around the cul de sac, and loved the feel of the bike.

We got all the flowers for our planters last night and hope to get them transplanted today. Yesterday we got 8 tomato plants put in. The ground is wet from all the rain but the garden soil is in great shape; I had mixed in a ton of peat moss last fall and the dirt is nice and crumbly.

I went to one of those painting deals yesterday afternoon -- Mary was going with her mom, daughter and DIL, and had invited a friend. The friend had to cancel at the last minute so I took her seat. We had a good time painting.

I got to Hendersonville and the traffic was awful so I bailed and did not pick up my race packet. Amending... I was going to plant the garden today. They are calling for possible hail tomorrow so, no, my baby seedlings do not deserve that fate. I will think of something else to do. Garden planting on Monday or after.

We went to a social for a new mtb group --- we were some of the older people there but everyone was very welcoming.

It's supposed to rain most of the weekend but I've got ambitious plans to get my tomato plants in as well as a couple of planters. Out in the little garden, the spinach, lettuce and beets are growing nicely. We are also trying onion sets this year. Easy peasy stuff.
