Pretty Running - lean forward, roll off your big toes, keep hand above your waist, look about 6 feet in front of you with your eyes, drive your elbows back and never cross your midline with your hands.

Only had it in me for 2 sets today. Remind me not to accidentally schedule two strength workouts in a row.

Heading out to brunch with friends this morning. I don't think there are steps in the restaurant between the tables and the food.

I've been watching some good (and not so good) stuff on Netflix. Latest movie was a documentary called Sick and Tired and Fat about a guy who got sick and then went on a 60 juice diet to reclaim his health. Also watched a documentary about a guy who built his tiny house on the back of a trailer. Very cool. I've been wanting to see Blacklist, so I gave a couple of episodes a try. Although I love the theme, it's just too violent for me, so I had to pull the plug.

P90X3 - Day 42
Although a bit hot and sweaty, this workout was doable inside the RV.  No jumping so there was room enough.  A bit of a challenge with Molly trying to help me with the pushups and floor flys though.
I think how this week will go will be some days P90X3 and run on the others.  Then when we get home I will simply repeat this week.

Feeling good that I've got a decent streak of workouts going this month. This is the time of year that I tend to fall apart with workouts - the weather gets cruddy and the kids get busy with school stuff and I lose motivation. I looked over last year's logs and I really fell off the wagon in Nov/Dec/Jan. I'm hoping I can keep this up throughout the winter and go into next year's race season with a much better base than I did this year. I'm also hoping to do a few fatbike races in the mountains, so that will help too.
Spent the day doing my grocery shopping, cooking a bunch of freezer meals, and tracking down cheap furniture for Nate's parents' house up in Granby. The haven't been able to sell it and it's empty, so we figure we should furnish it and use it as a place to crash during ski season. Scored a queen bed for $50, and a couch and loveseat for free. Yay for Facebook, and having a big truck! We'll take the stuff up there this week and do some fatbiking or snowshoeing.

Spent[...]

No way I could ride today with the torrential rain and lightening. Didn't even feel safe running and just could not get on the trainer. I figure the key workout is the 100 mile ride so I'll do that tomorrow and will also add 4 mile brick run as the weather is supposed to be beautiful tomorrow.

It really SUCKS losing mileage on the bike but I know now is the time it won't kill me to take a day off. If this was January I promise you I would have forced myself onto the trainer. Next week will be a big week since I'll ride long tomorrow and next Saturday. I am also not going anywhere for Thanksgiving so can make my regular 30 mile weekday rides 40 miles. This is going to be a big week and I love it!

Got the 225x2 very well, and also the 2x295 on incline. Doing pull ups while trying to hold a 20lb dumbbell between my feet was tough, though. More for the balance than the strrength

Stats taken after run and before getting something to eat/drink, %water 68.2, muscle 37.7, bone 3.9. I was going to do this Half Mary+ course I like to do at Antietam and on the C&O Canal towpath today, but I decided instead to get some errands done that could only get done on a Saturday rather than wait for another time. Best to get some of these done when I could. Plus it's going to be warmer tomorrow and the rain is expected to hold off until late afternoon. So, pushed that off until tomorrow. Will make it a slower, easier run than today.

Speaking of which, I don't know what got into me during this run! I did put on other shoes as I'm wondering whether these Saucony's are actually causing the problem with my right knee/upper calf? You wouldn't think so but stranger things have happened. So, I decided since this wasn't a long run to use my Altras instead. Those caused problems on a longer run but they do okay for shorter ones. And they worked fine here on this run th[...]

Marathon pace run. First quarter mile (a little less) did not register b/c Garmin wouldn't sync.

Kind of hard to keep marathon pace in a tight range of 6:15-6:20. Will prob expand range up to 6:30 from now on.

Long run of 11 tomorrow.
