Today is Kevin's birthday so we are going to a nicer place for dinner tonight - - Dry Creek Kitchen in Healdsburg.


We visited St. Francis, Ravenswood, and Buena Vista today with a lunch stop in the town of Sonoma. The check bag wine case thing is filling up! Such problems...


Also, the official results were posted and I was fourth in my age group. One person who was originally listed ahead of me was given a DNF. It looks like she completed only one lap of the bike course.

Out door pool tonight. Going to do the Sheila T. drills & work on kicking and turnover. Other people in the clinic have said their times have dropped dramatically over the course of 100 yards. I'm not sure I will experience that same success since we didn't totally have to re-formulate my stroke, but what the hell... I'll see how I do tonight.
In NON SBR news I deposited a check through my phone today. FOR THE FIRST TIME EVAAAA! How convenient is that?  Welcome to 2010.

We had FIVE earthquakes yesterday. I felt two of them good - our building at work creaks and shakes pretty substantially at anything over a 4.0. I'm not sure how to feel about quakes... they're kind of "exciting" but anything much stronger and we're talking structural damage. We don't get trained on earthquake safety or what to do, maybe I should do some light reading :
Heat index 105 and 20+ mph sustained winds will probably keep me on the trainer tonight.

The level of frustration/unbearable-ness at the new job has reached critical levels, to the point that I almost just walked out yesterday.    
I'm really on the verge of contacting my old firm to see if they would have enough work to take me back.  The big problem is that I made the move to the new firm with 2 out of 4 lawyers... and just found out that another lawyer is definitely making the move over here, and the last one has already interviewed here, so there might not be anything for me to go back to... but I guess I won't know until I ask, so I'd better get off my rear end and ask!

Our new pup is so sweet. She just wants to be loved and loves to cuddle. She has not had an potty issues inside, she has learned her name, comes whenever you call her, slept quietly on the floor next to the bed all night last night. Most important she is sweet and friendly to all the kids coming in and out of our house/yard. She has figured out the dogs across the street are total jerks. They are left outside all day when no one is home and bark at everything coming in our out of our house especially her now. They don't get walked or played with from what I can tell so they are just left to act like jerks. Now Mia has gone to the front door glass windows and barked at them from inside the house a few times so we'll have to watch this behavior so it doesn't escalate. The only other issue is she is a counter surfer :). She will pop her front paws up on the kitchen table or counter if she smells something good to eat.
