Several big ocean swims this holiday weekend. I hated that I had to miss these! No able to get in the ocean due to the incision. I can't risk getting an infection. Still in some pain, but it is getting better. Stitches are scheduled to be removed on the 13th.

I took a 2 hour nap both yesterday and today. :-)

I guess I have made it to the start of taper for Canada. I don't feel that I have done enough or intense training to really deserve taper, but it is here so I will just go with it.

Miracle - my feet are ok today! I mean I don't want to go for a run or anything but I don't feel like I need to pop a pill either. I need to stretch, legs are tight and definitely tired. I feel like I just want to relax today but I look around and see 1,000 little chores to try to get done before our big family reunion here next weekend.

I have a swim today... and then... RECOVERY WEEK. 

Monday -- U2 Concert/Rest. Taking the train in the AM, and concert goes late.
Tuesday -- 1 hour walk PM
Wednesday -- 2 loops IMWI (long bike 80 miles)/20 min T walk
Thursday -- AM walk/PM easy bike optional NOPE!
Friday -- LONG WALK/Swim PM
Saturday -- Joliet Ride? 62 miles?
Sunday -- LONG SWIM 4000.
So... in terms of workouts, this week went pretty well. Missing Monday sort of screwed me up, but I wasn't sure how I would ever have gotten up early on Monday after  Sunday's century. No way. And then of course the concert.... we got home late Monday night, so Tuesday AM was shot too. Then Tuesday PM was shot because I had to get in the car and drive up to Trudy's house so we could leave for Madison at the crack of dawn. It was a pretty juggled up week and I did what I could. 
Still ended up with 14:30 in training this week... more or less. Not too shabby. Talk about going from 0-60.

I added the 4 mile run each week as sort of an optional run to help me with Ragnar. Since I walked 3.5 miles yesterday, and I am so pooped, I'm skipping it this time around. I hope I don't regret it, but I have nothing left for today.

Church ran a little late today.  I got home, changed my clothes and threw together a PB&J sandwich, grabbed my water bottle and JUST made it to class in time.  I really wanted to go today because I won't be able to make it the rest of the month.  Worked up one heck of a sweat in class. Wow, it was a tough one!!

Dolly went home with baby Emily today.  Her mom texted me after church and said that she had been holding dolly since she got home.  Makes me happy to know she will be loved. The lady in the picture is not baby's mom....she is my friend Madeline and we have declared ourselves t be the baby's grandma's since baby doesn't have one.
Idiots behind us had fireworks going until fairly late last night.  Snickers kitty was not enthused by it at all.  Sad thing is, these are the people who have about 5 dogs and 6 cats so they should know animals aren't into the noise.....They are the ones who claimed our deck kitty.....she was their cat. &nbs[...]

I just reviewed the running for week one of consistency. 17+ miles, without any challenge at all. up it a bit next week, continuing in the EZ vein. I need to hit the ool (as always).   It may be time to add a bit of that to things too, possibly talk to Amy about my hideous swimming. I may have to use DD2's friends and co-workers to my advantage. But really, I shouldn't do anything rash. My swimming has been a shambles for the past 4 or 5 years, why start working on it now???

Nothing but Parade's, Fireworks, Grilling and beer.  I think I'm done with Ironman for a long time.  I can't stomach doing 100 mile rides and 20 mile runs anytime soon.
