Well, I took a stand so we'll see what the fall out is. I included myself in a letter explaining that a fellow teacher's conviction of felony embezzlement ($55k) from an educational organization over the course of 5 years (Hey, she said she was "sorry" AFTER she got caught) is a violation of the Montana Educator's Code of Ethics and it's being sent to the school board. It was going to be most of the teachers, but turns out everyone but three of us are backing down. They usually read those at the meeting. I may be on her "hit list" now. She renews her teaching license this summer, but since it looks like her jail sentence is being "suspended" I'm not sure if the conviction will prevent the renewal or not. Her husband makes a low six-figure salary as the elementary and middle school superintendent so it's not like she'd be on welfare or a financial drain on society if she were non-renewed. I just feel like it's not right to just stand back like I think it's "ok[...]

Worked from home. Had a phone interview, first time in years! Went okay. Not much belief in myself so I have no idea what will happen.

Lots of training for work. Feeling overwhelmed, but I am sure it will get better. There is a 3 week onboarding process. I am still excited about this job. Eager to get through the training, settle in, and get to actual work.
I have to admit - loving the commute! :-)

Working a lot and fitting in workouts. No time for anything else.

So, the interviews: His went fine, so he says. It is with a bank, so not very exciting, ha! Mine went so so. The work seems more interesting than what I currently do. But it is further away from my house (would make my commute 50% longer each way) pays less money, and has fewer benefits (my currently employer pays 100% of my health insurance, along with 2 weeks vacation and 5 sick days. This would be 50% paid of my insurance, and 5-7 days, not entirely sure, of PTO which would cover both vacation and sick days.) I guess I'm ambivalent about it. And while the work sounds better, I don't know that it necessarily aligns with any kind of career goal I have. If I'm going to take on less money, etc, I'd rather it be for something I'm REALLY excited and passionate about.

Running today....and PiYo Drench.  Warm and HUMID out there, GROSS.  No complaints from the legs.
Thing One's interview with Dinwiddie is this afternoon, she also has an interview tomorrow with Blue Ridge Autism Center. The center's main office is in Roanoke, but they have several schools so she doesn't know which one has an opening.  My gut is, she'll go with BRAC if she gets it because the class size is limited to 5 or 6 kids and each kid has their own therapy staff in the class room so if behaviors are a problem that therapy staff can handle the student.  Plus, she loves Lynchburg and the western part of the state...Her interview went well....they have a couple of collaborative positions open in the elementary levels and one for an adaptive classroom at the middle school --which she is not certified for at this time.  Adaptive is what she wants to work on next.

Such. Low. Energy! I guess it is a combo of not doing much and achy tootsie. Tomorrow the yard work along with a trainer ride. I still can't put a bike shoe on so it will be one shoe on, one slipper on :)

Starting to get into workouts that will help me improve more than just my cardiovascular fitness. This alone makes hiring a coach worthwhile . . . I have the overall plan now and see how things intend to build. I'm excited for the possibilities.

Today's swim: Technique and Endurance Workout

100 w/u easy

6 x 25 kick on side, 15"r
6 x 25 6 kick switch, 15"r
6 x 10 kick, 3 stroke, 10 kick, 15"r

Main Set
200 easy pace,3:46 (1:53 pace)
150 moderate pace, 2:37 (1:44 pace)
100 tempo pace, 1:41
50 sprint pace, :46 (1:32 pace)

100 cd

The drills, I think, are designed to get me swimming on my side. While kicking has been the bane of my existence, it is getting less awful. Trying to get rotation and side swimming will be the next big challenge.
