All I can say is that my conviction that most people are more pleasant under the effect of a general anesthetic is proving to be quite true today.  And Oh GOODY crazy toe lady is on the schedule. I can hardly wait.

8:39am:  I didn't think I was crabby this morning, but apparently I am, since my two co-workers immediately started annoying me and getting under my skin the moment I walked in the door.  Breathe, Laura.  Breathe.

Amazingly, I'm pretty far along on getting ready to leave on Saturday!  I've got errands to run today after work (bank, Target, library) and then I'm about done, with the exception of a small load of laundry tomorrow and the inevitable last minute packing of things I use every day.
Plan is to get a walk in tonight after I get home.  It's an Active Recovery day for PN, so that'll fit in nicely.

Not too bad.....lost my momentum somewhere on the back half of the run but finished well.
On to the stupidity of the day.  How many weeks of working 12 hour days (and NOT being paid for it) can we tolerate before we break?   I swear they are going to run us all out and then take the call centers off shore to people who have no freaking clue.
I miss my bike.  Maybe this weekend I can sneak out for a couple of hours.

I chickened out of the track practice this morning.  Part of me thinks I'm going to make a fool of myself at a track practice when I can't even run a 5K without stopping.. but I looked at the workout and it was not terrible:
Track: 10' Z2  W/U
3 strides
2 x 800 Z4 or TP, Rest 2'
W/D
This was for the easiest plan, the super beginners.  I could've done this... but then what happens when the workouts get harder and I still suck?  I know I'm thinking too hard about this.  I need to just suck it up and go.  Next week?
Also.. back injury and foot injury updates are on my blog

4 miles didn't happen. Went home, sat on the bed and the comforter just tore - all the way across almost at a seam. Packed it up, and went to Kohls. They refunded my money to my card and I looked - they had all the same brand - not happening. Went to BB&B and found a nice one. Home at 9pm. :| Will make run up tomorrow. This marathon training is not going as planned.

will try for 4 miles today - if the hip doesn't want to do it in run form - I will do 4 miles on the elliptical. Will stick to plan this week. WILL!

My Shenanigans

Major life changes (well, a bit of an exaggeration).
The wedding pictures from the weekend of July 20th had me realizing how overweight I have become.  Changed my diet and started to workout as soon as I got back on the 24th.  The weekend was more housework and walking, but still active.  I think I got a run in on Friday, but I would have to check my Garmin.
For the record, I measured (and I KNOW it was a bad time to do it, right after a wedding and vacation), but I was 260 lbs, almost 30 on the BMI scale, 30% BF on the home scale, and basically 30 to 40 lbs overweight.  That all went down a little after returning to my normal schedule, but it's still bad.
SO...  THAT'S the starting benchmark (and heaviest I have EVER been) that caused me to really take this seriously (that and the fact my new-ish 3 piece suit felt like wetsuit in terms of fit) that cause me to toss out the crap, eat the good, plunk down mone[...]

Today is our 9th wedding anniversary.  For fun, I just looked back in my BT log at this date for the past 7 years that I've been logging here (what!  ), and every year I said almost the same thing - that I couldn't believe it had been x years already.  So I won't say that this year!  More like, what a crazy ride it's been these past 9 years!  Wouldn't change a thing, but boy, I never saw any of it coming 9 years ago.  People keep asking me if I'm/we're ready for the baby.  Besides "ready as I'll ever be," my standard reply is that we've had PLENTY of time to enjoy just being married and doing all kinds of fun stuff everywhere we've lived, so we can't wait now to share our really pretty awesome life with a little one.

Either the heavy pollen is having an effect or I'm coming down with a summer cold. Slept like a log and didn't get up for my planned run. I guess I needed the sleep. Might be able to squeeze something in later in the day.

I did my first ever bike commute to work !  I have my sister's bike that is a cheap bike that is okay to lock up outside - it was pretty good and uneventful which is what you want in a bike commute. Lots of other cyclists - there seems to be order on College st and most people respecting red lights.
I was really late to work, though. I was on drop off for the baby so by the time i got her all ready and walked over and home it was way past 8:30.  It took about the same amount of time as it does to take the TTC - i am sure I could be a little quicker. I have to figure out the transition between the railpath and college st.  It doesn't make sense to me to cross the road and then cross literally 250m later to turn left across streetcar tracks.  But I also don't really love the idea of biking on the sidewalk.
I won't have to worry about it on the way home because it's all right hand turns there.
