I went for a massage yesterday and he worked me over pretty good. Legs are stiff and heavy today, so I may have to reconsider a few things.
Out of here tomorrow morning to drive Dad to TN for the funeral. I am looking forward to figuring a few things out about his mental and physical health in a 1 on 1 setting. I am not looking forward to driving for 14 hours with a man who may be incontenant. Pros and cons to all things. If you are the praying type of person, I'd sure appreciate it if you can put in a good word for me and my dad on this trip.
RR from the weekend should be done today. Next run/swim/bike won't be until next week, unless something wild happens and I get to the workout facility in the hotel. I'll see.
BTW, another sock giveaway from Balega International. I will be sitting this one out, since I won a pair last year. But good luck to anyone that participates!

Decided to sleep in. I did get a slot for the Flywheel class for tomorrow night.

Not exactly a packed class for a Monday night.

Woot - way to go Broncos!!!
Short week this week. Chaperoning a field trip with Aspen's class on Thursday, then the kids have no school on Friday or Monday. So, the plan is to start a painting today and hit the trails this afternoon. I'm exhausted though, and have a bunch of bills to pay and business type stuff to knock of my list, so we'll see...
Ate like crap this weekend, and the scale showed it this morning. Cookies to fuel my long ride Saturday, gnocchi/dessert/wine Saturday night, bread/cheese/chips/cookies/hard cider during the game last night.143.0 on Friday, 145.8 this morning!! Ouch! No worries though - heck, the Broncos don't win the Super Bowl every day!! Interesting to see how a couple days of extra sugar and crap tip the scale, but back to eating well this week and trying to fit in a ride or workout each day. Really happy that I've hit 6 hours on the bike the past two weeks. It's a good start for training for the Half Growler.
Just booked our spring break tr[...]

Got carpet ordered, but I won't know the total cost until they come out to measure (tomorrow). Ordering was clunky and a bit frustrating as expected - I have no idea what I'm going to be paying for or even a ballpark for the final cost. The employee was training a brand new person, and the main guy's voice was like a garbled whisper so I couldn't hear or understand a word he was saying. I know the carpet itself is 98 cents a square foot and the labor install is "free" with the pad but I never heard how much the pad was. I am paying $45 (I think?) for furniture moving, but they won't touch the piano (they suggested I hire a moving company to move it into another room and back - uhhhm no) so I'll have to drag that into another room myself. I paid $35 for them to come out and measure but that will be taken off the price of the carpet. I think.
I did get a bunch of purging done yesterday in two areas of the house. Tossed 3 or 4 big black bags of crap, and have one of clothes to d[...]

I enjoyed the game last night.  Carolina was outplayed, no doubt about it.  They made a lot of bad plays in the early part of the game and that cost them.  Denver made a lot of fouls that were unnecessary...and the number of QB sacks for both teams seemed pretty high for a Super Bowl....Felt a little bad for Cam Newton in the final couple minutes cause he just looked like he was mentally out of it then totally lost as to what just happened.  However, I saw the piece where he answered no questions in the post game interview and just walked out.  THAT is just being a big old baby about losing.

We went to a SuperBowl party last night. I didn't feel like I overate but sure am feeling it today. I also drank water instead of alcohol but still feel kind of hung over -- maybe from all the sugar and whatever else I consumed.

This week is our annual trip to Akumal, Mexico --- we will drive to St. Louis Wednesday night, fly out Thursday morning and be back Sunday late afternoon. And the timing could not be better -- our pleasant mild winter weather is forecast to change to more typical Illinois conditions this week.

General strength stuff

Back to work. The fun (er, less fun) continues this week as I go for a root canal tomorrow. :S It needs to be done.
Just feeling a little too grown up lately with everything going on. Sigh. There is much fun about being grown up but miscarriages, pet deaths and dental work are decidedly on the other side.
I feel pretty drained at this point. It's a lot going on. I am tired.  Darren is actually away, he left on Saturday afternoon for a trip with a bunch of buddies to celebrate their collective 40th birthdays. I was very unimpressed to get some messages from him yesterday saying he thought he left his passport on the plane.  We have already have a bad experience of his passport expiring and having to get one same day so i was very unimpressed. Anyway, Air Canada gave him numbers for follow up with the Toronto airport which was dumb because he was basically the last flight into Vegas and that plane likely didn't turn around and leave due to curfews. So, i dutif[...]

Feel worse today, whaa :(. This is all starting to get to me a little bit and I'm getting depressed. Horrible headache, I think it is the decongestant because it has been worse since I took my next dose at 12:30. I got in to the chiro after school to see if she can do anything for me. She adjusted my neck, when I went to stand up and almost fell over from my dizzy issues. If I feel this bad tomorrow I will call the regular doc.
No workout, chiro appointment, DS piano lessons after that then home to nurse this headache.

This morning I went to the dermatologist. My wife has been wanting me to get a skin cancer evaluation for some time now. I have never really worried about the sun because I can tan so easy. I tan up quickly. My wife gets mad because I can be out in the sun for 30 minutes and be tanner than she gets all summer.
Anyways, I knew I had some sketchy looking spots on the body and sure enough, the doctor examined them and only found one thing he was concerned enough. They decided to biopsy that area and now I am waiting for the results. I am keeping an optimistic view on this but the way he reacted to it was something that made me think maybe I should be concerned?? So I wait and see. They said no news is good news, so I hope in 7-10 ddays I hear nothing.
