Welcome to October! I feel a really good month coming up. It's my birth month, how can it be bad? :)Shopping with mom day! We're heading to an outlet mall about 90 minutes from here. Plan to see what the Merrell store has that I can't live without. Really, a girl just can't have too many shoes!!!

8:29am:  I do love my sleep-in Wednesdays.
Another new month, another clean slate.  Hard to believe it's already October (the days are long, but the years are short), but this is one of my favorite times of year.  Really, the only thing that mars it is that it means that winter, snow and seemingly unending cold is around the corner.
Hoping the bad weather holds off until late tonight so that I can go for a walk with the dog(s) when I get home tonight.  It's supposed to be a beautiful 70*.

Leg looks a little better now.  The redness and heat has gone down a bit.  Still has an infection, but it's getting better.  Not sure about an obstacle race this weekend, though.  Going to be a bit disappointed that I have to miss it.  Also slightly relieved, but more disappointed.

Worked 10 hours straight yesterday and just wanted to go to bed last night. But then my neighbors (across the street, not like next to my bedroom window or anything) were sporadically cheering and screaming as they watched the 12-inning Royals game until after midnight. Apparently they were watching the game outdoors or on a deck or something - they were LOUD AND CLEAR every time something good happened, especially the win. So I was essentially awake until 1 a.m., meaning no run this morning either. Got to get it together this week, Lisa!!

Slept pretty good, just tired.....going to wait until tomorrow for the run but I will hit the fitness center at lunch today.
Miss Thing texted me yesterday, asked if it was too late to drop out of college and be the 40 year old still living with her parents.  I emphatically said YES it is too late.

Not starting October well. Unless I get a LOT better in the next few days, I'm unfortunately not going to do Freedom's Run Half. As expected, my right hip/glute area is in bad shape and fairly painful when moving around. I really should not have run yesterday. Now about later today, probably should go back to chiropractor after work and then deep water run at the pool. Not sure about rest of week. Really don't understand how this happened once again. :(

Okay, things are a LOT better than they were yesterday and this morning. The compression bandage and Ibuprofen really helped during the day. I only took the IB in the morning and the compression bandage worked pretty well for the rest of the day. Went back to my chiropractor and he did a good amount of muscle pressure digging...umm...OW! I Made it to Ironville!

My home laptop has a virus on it and Darren is cleaning it up but it means that i can't upload my workouts from my garmins. Hopefully he'll have it done tonight. I have been having some awesome runs.  
I know it is a controversial plan but I have the FIRST 10k plan which is 1 interval/1 tempo/1 long run +2 XT per week. I've used this plan in the past and it's worked well for an endurance queen like myself to use to build speed. Though, i probably don't have as much base as i've had in the past and i know i need to be mindful of injuries.  But in the first two weeks I am feeling good about my chances of getting my sub 50 minute 10k.  :)
My elbow and hip are sore from my crash yesterday. I don't know what's wrong with me! Seriously, who falls off their bike, rips up their elbow and hip and gets right back on and rides to work.  Acts like i am fine when I am a little shaken up.  Work the day, ride home and then go to coached swim where we do a 400m TT.  [...]

Shoulder OK, just uncomfortable and tight. Head still fuzzy but improving. Longer walk today, as discussed during pre op visit. First PT appointment tomorrow.
Continuing to do me wee pendulum swings 3-4 times daily.
