"It’s not just money we need to lead a happy life; more important is to find inner peace." - The Dalai Lama
Beautiful sunrise this morning, but alas, I have no photographic evidence of it. Also, there will probably be no logging this week, due to a laptop that DD2 has taken with her. It has the upload software for the TGT, so I'll bulk upload later. No Biggie, just laying down the base for HM training and getting into training plan mode by creating a standard schedule.
Work. It sucks. That is all.

Be badass every day

Birthday is off to a good start. Finished up a Madagascar/penguin marathon that we started last night with the grandson. We're getting ready to start our second ping pong match of the day. We call it wall pong since we let the ball bounce off the wall, ceiling, cat, and whatever else it comes in contact with. Lots of fun, but exhausting! We'll head out to dinner later, but not much scheduled for the day. They weather is damp and chilly and all of the outdoor Halloween events only take place on the weekend. I'll bet we find something to get into!

Super busy weekend, with way less couch time than I normally like.  Friday was just too nice outside not to do something, so Sweeney and I spent the evening at an outdoor bar.  Saturday was my nephew's 1st birthday party on a farm, and my 12 year old nephew and I played on these huge hay stacks -- super fun!  Then yesterday, there was a wine & beer festival that I went to with Paula... good times for sure, but now I'm exhausted!
OH, I also went to a party on Saturday night with some people from the tri team, and found out Linda moved up swim lanes to be with me again - WOOT!!  Not that the other people in my new lane aren't very friendly also, but it's comforting to have somebody that I'm familiar with (and who will hold me accountable for being there).

Solid Run
Run this morning felt pretty solid.   Pace was steady, and for the most part the run felt really good.   Was getting a little tightness in the left calf at about 2.7 miles, but it went away.   Right achillies seemed not to bother me, so feel good about that.

At least in the off months, I think I'm really going to like being in Arizona.  The climate is dry, and the mornings are beautiful!   Really enjoy the fresh air and nice sunshine in the quiet of the morning.   I know come summer time it will be miserable, but I'm definitely going to enjoy the off season months!

Last week was kind of bad for me. New work schedule had me working almost full time hours.
My training suffered due to the weird schedule. This week I am working the same schedule but
am determined to get my training done.

Back, bicep and traps with some abs thrown in for good measure.

I need to create a workout schedule though it was VERY sweet to have nothing on the agenda this past weekend.

My PT bailed on me this morning ?! I've never had one 'call in sick'. Hrm
So I made up my own routine using things in my attic.
Would have gone for a run if not for the rain. Fair weather runner now!

3 sets of 12:
-squats on the bosu ball
-kettlebell dead lifts
-30 second plank
-some arm work using small hand weights
-crunch on bosu ball followed with a jump squat
-kettlebell swings
-push ups

Found my bosu ball DVD. Perhaps I'll do that workout tomorrow.

things are getting a little crazy around here and half marathon training has kind of taken a second priority.  i plan to keep slugging through, and get there with enough fitness to enjoy it, but an aggressive time goal seems out of the question.  2:20 maybe?  just planning to have a fun weekend with girlfriends before I leave.  also re-arranging my training around Girls on the Run, cause I generally don't fit in the extra miles around that so I am going to stop trying.
Week 10
Mon:  Stretch & Strengthen, GOTR
Tues:  5 miles
Wed:  5 miles + Strength Training
Thurs:  GOTR
Fri:  9 miles
Sat:  Cross training (depending on hotel equipment available)
Sun:  Rest (Yoga if I return to NPN on Time, driving home from Pittsburgh)

P90X3 - Day 8
A little tough this morning with some residual soreness from yesterday.  Especially some of the calf raise squats.
The extra time is for some shoulder presses and lat pull downs I did.  I suck at pull ups as in I can only do a couple.  Hoping the extra work might expedite getting to a point where I can do these respectable.
I had hoped to get a recovery swim in before P90X3 but upon arriving at the Y I found it was closed due to chemical inbalance.  They posted it on facebook but for some reason it don't show in my news feed.
