nothing this morning.  packed my pack.  
i was sort of worried that i would be going backwards by taking this hike.  However after putting the pack on this morning, i think this will be a good training experience.  The pack is about 32 lbs right now with the eno and without filling the two water bottles.  68+ miles with that on my back in NC and TN mountains may be a really good training week.  That is if my body survives this :)

7:54am:  Tough morning.  Up around 2:30am with a bad headache.  Took meds.  Took more meds.  Had a Diet Pepsi.  Finally feeling better around 4am.  Slept for 25 minutes until my alarm went off.  Hit the sleep button a few times.  Then turned the alarm off, intending to get out of bed (I should have known better) and woke up 20 minutes before I was supposed to be at work.
So - no shower, no dog walks (big shout out to my roommate for the assist on this one!) - just an adrenalin-infused morning.  But - luckily - I'm still feeling good AND it's not Monday or anything horrible like that.
Would like to get out for a run when I get home today.  We'll see how things go.

This is the first time I've been able to run this route without stopping.

The crest of this route is at a mountain village called Mata Ahogado ('drowned plant' is the literal translation. It suits this town b/c they grow a lot of food in the creeks/streams coming off the mountain). The road up to Mata Ahogado is VERY steep and quite a ways up. Many times, I was digging into the road and bent over. Very few cars can make it up this road...I only saw ppl on foot, or on horses.

Anyways, I've attempted to run up to this town and always had to stop...until this time. W00T.

In the morning I ran shell ridge and did a couple of new trails! Got the six mile in.

In the evening I did hill repeats--It was a suffer fest. I got dizzy on one of the 60 second intervals.
