6:07am:  Okay, so this is what I don't get:  I wake up at 3:30am and for the life of me, cannot fall back to sleep before my alarm goes off at 4:30am.  However, in the 10 minutes after hitting the snooze button, I manage to conk out completely.
Anyway.  Trainer beatdown after work, and then I'll get out for a run or walk, depending on how I feel.
As always, I have a million things to do between now and leaving for Canada at 7am on Saturday. Going to try and be uber-organized this time around ... the goal is that I'll be able to do nothing Friday evening except sit and watch some TV before going to bed early.

Pretty busy day, at it turned out.  Did a load of laundry after church, then we decided to go out for lunch and to Babies R Us to get some more necessities.  Organized the baby's room and did another load of laundry when we got home.  I was afraid all that time on my feet would make the pelvic pain worse, but thankfully it didn't.  If anything, it started to improve a little as the day went on.

I did nothing today other than lay on the couch with an SVU marathon -- everyone needs a day like this once in awhile!

Church, errands, then Preston's 13th b-day party. It was at an indoor trampoline park and I didn't jump since a runner friend I know broke her ankle at this exact place not too long ago. It was fun watching everyone, especially in dodge ball. BBQ and watching the kids play baseball in the back yard after that. Nice day!

Be uncomfortable. Strive.  Get better.  Kerry Walsh Jennings
Lovely tri today. 8 of 'my' triathlon 101 athletes were there plus two alumni including my co-coach.  What fun.  Lots of podium slots, and my co-coach got 1st OA female.  How about that.  I had to run fast to stay in front of her.  :)  My swim was pretty good, especially for avoiding the pool like the plague, bike was good, I pushed as hard as possible without blowing up.  Just under LT the whole way, and my run! the run was faster than I've run in years.  ~ 8:30/mile for the 5K.  You can see on the graph where I kicked it up after the turn around, and again at one mile out.  I almost couldn't hold on to the pace at the end, and it did tail off a little but I finished at a 7:45 pace.  That's slow for many, but for me that's a huge improvement, and as hard as I could go.  I'm pumped.
Sadly, one of the girls who showed up only came to one of our workou[...]

My baby is 22 today. Well, not my baby. My eldest. She's still my baby though. :)

Long slog of a ride today. Very mentally and physically tired. Not a great ride by any means, but done. I'll take done.

A biker got hit today in the park. In a park with signs to share the road with bikes...because there are ALWAYS bikers in the road in this park. I swear. No where is safe to ride a damn bike anymore. GRRRR.

Post ride, got cleaned up and took Kaity to the mall to shop (which is usually a frustration for us both as she never wants me to BUY her anything...) and success. She got a pair of converse sneakers, two sweaters and a shirt at JCrew. That was a small miracle! Then we had birthday dinner at Granite City with the family, Sherry and her bestie Nicole. Bad food choices, beer and a happy girl. Now I need sleep!

Meant to run. Other priorities for the day:
We were at our friends' cottage near Midland and the weather wasn't great on Saturday so we trundled Felicity down to the beach for her first beach time on Sunday morning.  she loved it.  Playing in the sand and such.  Cute pics are on FB.
By the time we got home D needed a nap and we needed groceries and stuff. Darren helped me out and we did a whole bunch of food prep including making a pan of spinach manicotti for lunches this week.  So that was awesome and productive.

The good news from yesterday's brick, besides that I was happy with how the workout went (and that I missed the downpour by a few minutes), is that I wore my new DeSoto 400-mile shorts for the first time in a run.  They were very comfortable to run in!  I was skeptical of their redesign but it has turned out that I like them 2014 version at least as well as the previous version.

Great trip this weekend. A trip to the zoo, swimming, and the museum was perfect for a 1 and 4 year old - as far as out of town vacations go. We didn't get home until late and our son was having the hardest time going to sleep. I volunteered to put him down so my wife could put in some miles on the treadmill. Because I wasn't too interested in starting my workout at 10:00pm I unfortunately didn't get to do anything workout related today.

Spent all day today doing laundry. And cleaning up. And nursing my hangover.
Out last night to celebrate my friend Kristin, who is going into lockdown for a body building competition she's doing. 18 weeks. No alcohol. No restaurant food. No fun. No...nothing.
So we whooped it up at Cooper's Hawk for one last night. Got home at almost 3 am. Those young kids can really party. Haha
