Rough morning.  Didn't get to bed until 11pm after Chase got sick around 9 after eating plain baked chicken for dinner a couple hours earlier.  That's 3 times now.  The first 2 times the chicken was lightly seasoned so we thought maybe that was it, but this time it was completely plain.  So...pretty sure he may be allergic to it. Talked to his pediatrician's nurse this morning about putting in a referral for an allergist, as we're also fairly certain he may have a wheat allergy.  Poor buddy.  He's feeling completely fine this morning as Travis and I dragged ourselves around the house in a zombie-like state.  I had actually reset my alarm for 5:30 but decided to just get up and run as planned when I was wide awake by 5.

Day 2 of training and I made a point of getting here for 8, telling the trainer person that I was leaving at 5pm.  Unfortunately most of my "lunch hour" was taken up by trying to get caught up with my actual work and failing miserably.  Oh well, I'm hoping that my training will be done by the end of tomorrow and I won't have to spend 8 hours on Thursday learning about stuff that will have no bearing on my job.  
Oh well, I really like the lady that's training me - we're spending entirely too much time chit chatting (as I pretty much know all of the applications that they use at the new firm) and she's a really fun, cool lady.  If nothing else, I've met someone that I think would be awesome to hang out with - too bad she's based out of the Dallas Office.  
After work, I had these fabulous plans of going for a run along the lake until it was an actual monsoon outside... so I figured I would head home and ride the drainer instead.  Tony had other ideas,[...]

Monday -- U2 Concert/Rest. Taking the train in the AM, and concert goes late.
Tuesday -- 1 hour walk PM
Wednesday -- 2 loops IMWI (long bike 80 miles)/20 min T walk
Thursday -- AM walk/PM easy bike optional
Friday -- LONG WALK/Swim PM
Saturday -- Joliet Ride? 62 miles?
Sunday -- LONG SWIM 4000.
So much juggling and preparation. Got home late last night, so it was physically impossible for me to drag this out of bed to do anything. I have to work all day (am thinking of taking some personal time to get out an hour early) and then race home, walk for an hour, get all my crap together and drive myself and my bike and all my crap up to Trudy's house. Tomorrow we're getting up at the crack of doom to drive to Madison. Riding the IMWI course, T-walk, and then driving home. Promises to be an exhausting day, I'm sure. Thursday back to work! Friday, I'm off for the holiday and I am hoping to sleep IN.

I did have a bit of a goggle failure: didn't seat them properly, starting filling up with water during the warm up. No big deal, reseat at the wall and keep going. Except this time BOTH eyes completely fill with water. Here's today's lesson: instead of swimming with eyes shut and swimming directly into a lane divider, I should have flipped over, emptied the water, reseated, and then kept going. That would have been practice. I'll remember that for next time.

shower door installed yesterday but still wrong. Adjusted today and finally showered in the damn thing. Dave loves it. Me, its a nice shower, but not worth all the bs and $. He is a happy, so I am happy for him.

Fascia is repaired. I got up and cleaned the gutters, and the painter guy got some of the uppers. Not the ones that face our neighbor of course. Don't have a ladder tall enough for that, but they need to be cleaned. Baby trees are growing!

Dave repaired some items that needed attention today too. Overall a kind of productive day.

Sadly, prepping dinner I looked out the window and there was a dead bird on the deck, and its baby (almost full sized but a fledgling) sitting next to it. The girl went out and picked it up in her hand. I got her birds "bubble" travel case and she contacted a bird rehabber. We keep it safe overnight, feed it in the am and hopefully baby bird will fledge and be flying in a day. It was so sad seeing it just sitting by its mama[...]

I am starting my "3 things" list again. I find it really helps me to focus on positive things at least a little bit each day, just to stem the tide on negativity.
Starting today:
1. I am glad Jim is home and had a wonderful trip
2. I can see progress in reclaiming the property
3. My Mom is healthy and sane (as sane as ever anyway). :)
and the work day got away with me. No lunch break so no work out. Imma gonna have to get up early.

I'm trying to figure out my options for biking this weekend.  I just cannot do anymore hills right now!  I also don't have time to drive down to the Eastern Shore.  So... I am thinking of getting up early and riding the W&OD trail starting at 6am and covering the entire thing from Shirlington to Purcellville (45 miles) and back.  Hopefully I'll get most of it in before the trail gets too crowded (and it gets too hot!).  I've been looking at the weather and last night called for thunderstorms Friday morning, so if that keeps up, I may take off Thursday.  Not excited about blowing a vacation day for this, but I just HAVE to get in some miles this weekend, am planning my run on Saturday with the run group, and Sunday I'm in Philly for a 1st birthday party.
