8:29am:  I do love my sleep-in Wednesdays.
Another new month, another clean slate.  Hard to believe it's already October (the days are long, but the years are short), but this is one of my favorite times of year.  Really, the only thing that mars it is that it means that winter, snow and seemingly unending cold is around the corner.
Hoping the bad weather holds off until late tonight so that I can go for a walk with the dog(s) when I get home tonight.  It's supposed to be a beautiful 70*.

I think I did ok..then attended 2 more breakout sessions. Then decided I was not going to be social b/c I feel sick still...got some wine and ate leftovers in the room. Early bed for me.

Leg looks a little better now.  The redness and heat has gone down a bit.  Still has an infection, but it's getting better.  Not sure about an obstacle race this weekend, though.  Going to be a bit disappointed that I have to miss it.  Also slightly relieved, but more disappointed.

Worked 10 hours straight yesterday and just wanted to go to bed last night. But then my neighbors (across the street, not like next to my bedroom window or anything) were sporadically cheering and screaming as they watched the 12-inning Royals game until after midnight. Apparently they were watching the game outdoors or on a deck or something - they were LOUD AND CLEAR every time something good happened, especially the win. So I was essentially awake until 1 a.m., meaning no run this morning either. Got to get it together this week, Lisa!!

11:03 AM: Ronnie at lunch. I am pretty sore from Monday, and then yesterday's swim. I also took the stairs today, so there's that. I could feel the StairMill in my calves and quads as I hoofed it up to 6 this morning. Couldn't hurt the cause, might help it.

Resistance is thought transformed into feeling.  Change the thought that creates the resistance, and there is no more resistance. - Robert Conklin
Today, this moment, I am choosing to release resistance and look for the gifts that are available for me and my life.

group ride tonight.  I slept in this morning, just felt like I needed it.  Thought I might swim at lunch, but just not enough time.  Sleeping was a gift and it felt wonderful.  Just earlier I was fussing at myself for not getting more done today because I started late due to sleeping in.  Perhaps I'll just enjoy feeling good and concentrate on getting my work done.  (as soon as I finish this blog entry.    )

Got up at 4:45am, got dressed and on the treadmill and made it not quite two minutes before going back to bed. OF COURSE, I wasn't "feeling it". It takes a few minutes at least to get into any kind of groove. I just need to not worry about "feeling it" and do it anyway like most of life. I shouldn't have been tired with 8 hours of sleep, but did fall back into a pretty deep sleep so maybe I really was?
The funeral for my sister-in-law's mother is Friday. She died of complications of congestive heart failure, but it was still unexpectedly sudden. I've only seen her once or twice, but feel for my SIL who is very alone in the world (here Dad died a few years ago).

Although it's a taper week, today I had my longest continual swim (400m). I lost count of my lengths, but I still think I got it right. Generally, it felt okay. I did need to take a 5 second breather (to also figure out how many lengths I had done), but I'm pretty happy with the effort.
