On June 16th I left my job.  I just didn't feel there was any more I could do for them unless they were prepared to invest and make some significant marketing and personnel changes among other things.  Prior to my trip I met with a couple of growth firms but I'm leaning towards being self employed again so.... I had planned to do a swim race Sunday but NO ONE has responded to my email questions or returned my voicemail regarding same day race registration.  Poor customer service.  So instead I'll work.  No swim race afterall.  Not too disappointed as it seemed a waste to drive 1.5 hours to swim for 45 minutes.  And the Niagara corridor traffic sucks as of late.  I would like to do an iron distance swim race before the summer is over... we'll see.

I used to hit 10,000 steps per day while working a desk job.  Now just walking around with the dog, walking to meet people for meetings vs. taking the car - I seem to hit 15-20,000 steps per da[...]

I have a 20 minute run today.  And maybe a quick ride on my lunch break.  
I expect to be working late again.....so OVER this foolishness.  John might go play golf after work so I might go hit the pool if he does.  Got out before 6 PM...a record!  But of course I signed in at 7 and should have only worked until 5......we won't go there.
Pool was a little busy.....Found someone to split with.  Water was cloudy --milky looking.  Just gross.  I got out when I could tell things were falling apart.  Spent some time in the hot tub which felt wonderful.

"GET TO MILE 18 on the run!"

Stats taken after run and before dinner, %water 70.3, muscle 39.2, bone 4.1. Followed the plan for today. Swim first and trying to work with my Finis Tempo Trainer again after many years of non use. Need more work, felt like I was rushing and not really catching the water too well. Splits don't really look too hot. So, what I probably need to do is have a longer day next weekend there to determine my optimal rate like the manual says.

Then went for more bike fitting. Jamie B, my sponsor and owner of Mercury Endurance Cycles, fixed a few things like knees bowing out (shimmed the cleat), raised seat a bit and maybe aerobars slightly as well. So hopefully opened my hips up a bit more. Put different footbeds in my shoes that use whole foot rather than just the outside and metatarsals. So, will see how this setup works for 5.5 hours tomorrow.

Lastly, Z2 run. Per my thoughts earlier this week, decided to keep this to around an hour. Plus I used my new Altra Torin 1.5s! [...]

We got in about 7:30 this morning, but took a looong nap and didn't really do much. So little in fact that Case left his phone plugged in upstairs and didn't check it until tonight only to find that the HR person had called him about the railroad job. I doubt she'll be in tomorrow, but there's maybe a slight chance since the training class starts in two weeks. I really don't see her calling to say he DIDN'T get it. I imagine she was calling to schedule the physical.
