Arrived yesterday to a perfect sunset. The monkeys are calling this morning and I'm comfortably drinking my morning coffee in shorts and a tshirt. Don't think much is on the agenda today. The floors here are concrete, and really hard on my legs and my foot is quite swollen from the trip in yesterday. Need to get Fred to string up the hammock for me. It will be perfect to keep the foot elevated.

Day 4:
Kind of getting tired of juicing only because it requires planning and actually takes a while to prep and juice everything.  And I guess overall I've been sticking to it but I still cheat every day with something I can chew.  Day 1 was ok with a banana and an avocado, day 2 was a spring roll, and last night was salad and a pastry.  Then this morning I popped a couple of truffles in my mouth before I even knew what I was doing they were gone - so so sweet.
My takeaway is that I've been eating portions that have been too big and it's taken 4 days for my body to adjust and feel content on 1500 calories which is what I should be eating to maintain when I don't work out.  Also I have a bad habit of nibbling - a bite here and there when I'm not even hungry and these bites add up.  I was hovering around 143/144 and am now 140/141 so not sure if it's actually a loss or I'm just no longer hanging on to 'stuff'.  Maybe a 2# loss.  Goes to show that[...]

I think I'm going to skip a day.
My calves are sore, and have been since the 5k on Saturday. Tuesday got late/busy, so I ran Wed morning (not enough break between runs). I am getting a date night with my wife, and we are going to get some Christmas shopping done. It snowed just enough to make things a mess, and when the temps fall tonight, the sidewalks will be icy.
Lot's of things conspiring to make skipping a run a good idea.

I did set up my bike on the trainer, and am planning on some 30min spins. I would like to get some quality zone 2 work going. Still too early for "real" zone 2 workouts when running, so the bike will be my true aerobic workouts. I'm not sure the best approach to this, but I do know that once I can run for 30min, my attitude for all training is 90% positive. I begin to look forward to my alarm going off, and working up a sweat. For now, I need to ease off the calves a touch, and let them catch up to my desire. :D Maybe I will break out the yoga DVD's. Th[...]

Better and better. Woke up this morning and didn't realize until I was walking down the steps, that nothing hurt. No stiffness. No nothing. Haven't felt like this In a while. Wanted to bounce down the stairs like I used to but remembered to take care of my foot. Felt 10 years younger!!

Heading back up to Western Mass today. One of my oldest and dearest friend's Mother passed away. Wake is tonight and funeral tomorrow morning. Hubby and DD are coming too. I decided to book a room where everyone else is staying rather than bunk with my Dad. I just don't need the drama and he doesn't have the space, linens and other stuff so I would have to bring all that with me. For a rate of $58 I rather leave the headache to someone else. Yet another work day cancelled. Oh well.

PT this morning on shoulder. Supraspinatus is slightly inflamed...Had some work done, to include dry needling, and it feels much better. Not a fan of needling as they're doing it, though.

-Update-

Will try another walk with Koda tonight, maybe a bit longer. He doesn't seem to be picking his paws up as much in the snow. He is doing great. We still have the typical puppy items like trying to chew on everything but last night we laid down for bed about 10 and he woke at 430-445 to go out and that was it. The only issue was getting him settled down and back to bed until the alarm went off at 630 which he did about 530 and then didn't want to get up.

I am lucky that I work in a pet friendly building and my boss has agreed to let Koda come with me to work a few days a week. Today he is home in the kennel (he needs to learn to love his kennel) but this pic was from yesterday when he came to work with me. He got tired with all the loving...

I made my favorite homemade gingersnaps for the party last night, then parked 4 blocks from the bike shop and walked all the way there without the cookies. I didn't want to go all the way back to get them (I know, so lazy), so now I have a whole tin of my favorite cookies in the house. Guess what I just ate for breakfast? FAIL. And now I'm all stuffed up and runny nosed again. So, back to good, clean food for the rest of the day/week.
Looks likely that I'm going to be roped into being a co-captain for the race team next year. The team was a total disaster this year - there was only ONE group ride, no one knew each other, everyone did different races, blah. I think we just need some organization - a contact list from the get-go, regularly scheduled group rides, a few selected races that people are encouraged to attend with the team. And since no one else seems too thrilled about doing this stuff, I volunteered. We'll see - I've been trying to talk some new, enthusiastic girls I ride[...]
