Scheduled day off on my training plan.  Resisting temptation to 'make up' run from yesterday.  Long ride on Saturday and brick on Sunday.  Probably a short swim on Sat afternoon (= 1500yd.)
Training plan got a bit out of synch by doing the BBR 5.0 mile road race last weekend.  Had to take an extra day to recover, but all-in-all was not a problem.

Just me being a nerd here. I went back to compare 2012 and 2014 at B2B. Both years, I will admit that I went as hard as I could have with the fitness I had at the time. I don't race any other way.



SWIM:
IMO, the swim currents were similar during 2012 and 2014. Improved swim by two minutes, but more importantly, moved up significantly in the standings, both overall and AG. Improvement.

T1:
During both years, I exited the water at around the same effort. In 2012, I didn't have any hiccups and was out quickly. In and out. For 2014, and basing it off the 2012 T1, I'm assuming the helmet malfunction cost me around 2 mins, which is how much the 1AG guy beat me by.

BIKE:
2012 had some winds (mostly headwinds), which at times were kind of strong. 2014 had light winds, with some tailwinds towards the end. Improved by over 8 mins, but more importantly, moved up in OA and AG standings. Improvement.

This month represented what may be icing on top of icing. IOW a little too much racing. Miami 70.3 just seemed over the top in terms of racing. It was a solid but unspectacular race in the face of dwindling total volume and near absent intensity. My head and body both just wanted to chill out so I was flogging them as much as I could. My swim really dropped off these last two months and my bike and run are just barely acceptable as far as my general liking. Hopefully I can join the pool again, get started back there with some consistency, and get back to more biking and running, prior to another drop off during December. I'd really like to crack 2000 running miles for the year.

Heading out in the woods this morning for some brush mowing and burning. We had clouds overnight, so everything should be relatively dry. Meant to go down and do some upper body this morning, but got caught up looking up exercises on the internet and never made it down to actually do any of them. Oops. :) Abs are still sore!

The powers that be in my work place decided that there would be a big phone upgrade last night.  So we all had to leave our phones unplugged for some new push to the routers.  I have the feeling that today will suck monkey balls as no one will be able to get the darn thing to work. Oh it sucks the big fat hairy monkey balls all right.  There is a "bridge line" to call for assistance.  It is a complete clusterfuck.  50 people trying to speak at once and no specific answers.   mess.  AND  they put me on the later person list again.  I just did it 2 weeks ago!!   mess.
