Double up on my PiYo today, didn't do the Sculpt yesterday so I have it with Sweat.
Training (another) new person at work ....sigh this it the 5th person in two years.  It's tiring...and it means keeping the headset on all day which gives me a massive headache....and I already have one of those from the low pressure system impacting my sinuses.

Aw man, my sweet Bentley has injured himself somehow. I have no idea how, but yesterday while he was eating breakfast he let out some awful yelps and cries. Just standing there eating. I thought maybe he broke a tooth or something but nothing in his mouth and he lets me rub his teeth and gums so it's not that... it seems to be more of his neck than anything. He's moving slow, won't jump and can't go down the few steps out to the yard. He can come up the steps, but it's one paw at a time. I feel so bad, he clearly is not himself but I don't know how to help him. Going to see if it lasts much longer and then see if the vet has a muscle relaxer or something.

Books that I read in April Across a Star-Swept Sea by Diana Peterfreund The First Star to Fall by Diana Peterfreund For Darkness Shows the Stars by Diana Peterfreund Among the Nameless Stars by Diana Peterfreund UnDivided by Neal Shusterman UnSouled by Neal Shusterman Pretty Baby by Mary Kubica Vanishing Girls by Lauren Oliver Ten Thousand Skies Above You by Claudia Gray
My favorite book of the months was Ten Thousand Skies Above You. I was afraid that after A Thousand Pieced of You, which I loved, Ten Thousand Skies Above You would disappoint.  It did not. As always, I did not enjoy the middle book of the trilogy quite as much because it’s a bit darker.  I still liked the book and my main disappointment is that I have to wait until November for the next (final?) book in the series to be released!  (forget binge watching TV, I want to binge read this series!)
I also enjoyed UnDivided, For Darkness Shows the Stars and Pretty Baby.  UnDivide[...]

No workout today. Little Miss was struggling with homework and a very bad attitude. DH took her to piano so I had to cook dinner. Planning to swim early so didn't really want to start a workout at 8:00 this evening.

Back still hurts but it didn't affect swimming.  I got in the hot tub and just had one jet on it for 10 minutes.

I have to be realistic about this years race schedule. I am not ready for the May 21st race and with everything my family has going on (New York Trip and Florida) I really do not see my July race happening. So going forward I am focusing on the 70.3 in October. It may be the only race I run, but I am just not excited about running a sprint. I know the 70.3 will be a challenge and I am looking at plans to start soon.  Maybe I am struggling because I know I can do a sprint at any time (maybe not as fast as I want, but I could do it). Maybe I just need that uncertainty to move me in the right place??

Just one month until I can ride on the road again! In a lot of ways, it's really nice to do my bike workouts on the trainer, but I am looking forward to getting back on the road again. I've felt totally recovered for about 9 months now. But, I can't risk another TBI, as I have no skills other than what my brain can produce. I can make it one more month.
Yesterday's ride was tough, but I think it was a really good workout. My legs are still a bit tired, but not sore. Should make today's strength session interesting . . .
Wife has boot camp tonight. If I were only running, I could get it in after work, but because I'm supposed to do a fair amount of strength, there's just no way. I'm going to try to get it all in at lunch. Treadmill run (bleah) but then I can go straight into strength. I'm so thankful that my work has a generous wellness policy. Without it, I'd have to cut out a big portion of today's training.

Wellness policy be damned, I still had to cut a big chunk of strengt[...]

The position of the Universal Mind towards us is always the reflection of our own attitude...  We can then cheerfully look upon it as our ever-present Friend, providing all good counsel - Thomas Troward
Started out as a run, but after this weekend's activities - a bit too hard ride, and a bit too long run, my legs are still toast, so I made it a walk.  Lovely stormy cool morning to be out on the streets!
Think I'll try to get back into using BT as a place to post an inspirational thought each day, and take a minute or two to meditate on that idea.  I'm still trying to find my motivation although the last two weeks have been much better as far as working out goes.   Made a couple changes to nutrition plan as well.  Monday's will be animal product free, Tuesday will be mini fast, or at least sugar free.  -- I'll try that.  And beets.  I've added beets.
