Will ride the trainer tonight since I can't run and swimming is out of the question for a couple more days. My toe is a collection of raw oozy holes. A laser was used to burn these suckers right out, and now I have craters where they were. I'd show you a photo, but honestly, you really don't want to see it. Trust me.
This always cracks me up. My bike ride... left the GPS on again:

Of note, today is my ((DEFUNCT)) wedding anniversary. Please drink something strong to celebrate, like paint thinner, or gasoline. Hah. It would have been 13 years of horrification and ugliness. Thank God it's not. Instead, I'm working on 3 years of goodness and humor and fun. It all works out in the end, doesn't it?
My advice for the day:

Thank me later.

Man, I am still feeling pretty banged up. Today is more about the soreness along my rib cage and around my core! Hopefully this starts to ease up over the next couple of days....I did manage to squeeze in 2 short workouts but at minimal intensity.
Lunch time swim consisted of a 200yd WU followed by 10x100 MS. 1st few repeats were not hateful but my stiff neck really showed my poor form so it gave me something to think about.
After work I managed a quick 4 miles, and other than the crazy side wind all was good. My obliques Yelled at me a bit and it felt like I had fat rolls bouncing up and down!

√ Yoga tonight.
Listening to the Boston Marathon coverage this morning.  The announcer made a big deal about Desi weighing under 100 pounds.  Isn't she like 5'1"?
Massage with Audra between work and yoga.

April Abs today:  crunch 250--4x45 second plank holds--50 same arm/ leg raise--20 spiderman push ups.  PiYo too.  Might go back for another swim tonight--my legs need the aqua therapy.  Shin splints are hurting and the quads are generally talking.

My body is tired today. Everything is borderline sore, and I did NOT want to get out of bed this morning! Planning to hit the gym to lift weights later - it's a no bike day, which is good. I'm impressed that I managed to wreck my legs so good with a long spin bike ride.
Debating whether to do the VIDA MTB clinic in Keystone or Crested Butte. I won it at the fundraiser and the code they gave me is good for any of them. Keystone is closer and earlier in the summer, but would require me being gone over Father's Day weekend which seems kind of crappy of me. Crested Butte is my favorite place to ride in CO and I would much rather do that one for the fun factor, but it's longer drive and it's later in August so won't help me all summer. But I also have friends in CB so might swing a free place to stay. Hmmm.... Either way, I'm stoked. These clinics look like they're a blast.
Other than that, getting ready to send both of my kids to school for the first time in a week, and then I'm lock[...]

Slept another 10 hours overnight and skipped the morning bike session. Planning the swim but that's it for today. Feeling a little better today.

6:45am:  I'm getting to the point of wanting a longer vacation ... just the freedom of not having to get up at 4:30am for a full week.  I really, really, REALLY wish that my company supported working from home on a regular basis.  I shouldn't complain -- at least it's a viable option when I need to be home for some reason or another -- but I will because, as always, I want MORE.  :)  Not gonna happen, but nice to think about.
Feeling pretty okay for having walked/run more than usual over the past 4 days or so.  Ibuprofen really helps keep some of the aches and pains at bay.
I think I've almost decided to do the Whole Life Challenge in May.  I still have reservations about the benefit (in the long run) of restricting foods, but I need to do something to get some of this weight off.  I stopped taking my birth control pills about 7 weeks ago, and have put on 8 pounds.  Nice.

Photo of my subtalar fusion below. Got out of the splint and into a cast last week. Almost three weeks down, and at least five more to go non-weight bearing. It's a major pain in my (literally and figuratively) but being at work on my knee cart and getting in some upper body lifting a few times a week is saving my sanity.

In this pic, you can also see how up the front of my ankle joint is formed. It's like a bony shelf that was making it impossible to flex my foot. I had 6% flexibility. Now that shelf is gone and the whole front part of my joint has been reconstructed. I don't have an xray of the "after" of that but will get one at my next visit to compare. I am looking forward to my new range of motion.

2 sets of 15:
Lat pulldown
Row machine
Skull crushers
Dips (with feet on my knee cart, haha)
Crunches holding dumbbell with feet in air
Lying oblique twists with dumbbell
Straight-leg lying leg lifts
Single leg press (right side only)
