It's all about the journey

From the bike yesterday combined with the migraine, I had some sort of residual headache or pressure which I actually have had before. Took my bike in to get it looked at, tightened, cleaned, inspected, etc. and then decided just to bag the evening and take a rest day. Probably need to really taper here, huh?

Tomorrow: swim, weights, and run which will probably be on the treadmill since it will be dark when I get done with the other two. Little hesitant to swim as I think this head pressure issue is a result of my problems with chlorine pool water and decongestant spray to alleviate that. Probably doing terrible things to my sinuses. Since there's a few days to recover from that, I should be okay. Still, a bit concerned about this pressure and hope it alleviates. Start packing.

Wed: easy bike ride or spin on recumbent at the gym, get bike back, finish packing.

Thurs: travel to race site

Fri: race prep

Sat: RACE!

I Made it to Ironville!

So, they mentioned that Felicity will be starting to be transitioned to a toddler daycare spot over November since she'll be aging out of the infant room in early December.  I've been wondering when that would happen.  I am looking forward to saving some money on that front but it's also hard.  Really only for me and accepting that my little bunny is getting so big!
She's so amazing to watch! She can point out most of her body parts on her herself and it's so cute to see her stick out her foot when you ask her where her foot is.  She doesn't say many words yet but uses a bunch of signs and is communicating pretty well with us.  She loves books and the other morning we had read a Backyardigans book and I went to grab something and when I came back she was sitting and examining it all over again.  We are getting some toddler tantrums but that is to be expected as she starts to assert herself.

Happy Monday! DS went to bed last night saying "I hate Monday."
Rough day for our homeschool adventure. DD is reacting to something apparently. We got through it but there was lots of frustration from my little student and she sort of screams her way through her frustrations so this was pleasant. It's not really AT me but to me about whatever she feels she is struggling with. Makes for a long day though. So yeah, school work frustrations and 3 potty accidents again. We'll get back on track but hate that she has to deal with all this.

Caught E's yuckiness. I have a sinus infection and ear infection. Went to urgent care Saturday. Took two very long naps on Saturday & Sunday. Feeling better, but my ears hurt again when it was cold after Body Back.

Skipped Body Back on Saturday so I made up class today.

Now that my vacation is booked I'm like "UUGHHH I still have to wait 2 weeeeeeks!" haha!  Really motivated to get back in the gym, in the pool, etc. Need to reinstate my Y membership asap. I was pricing treadmills today but new ones are pricey even on sale (and used ones scare me a bit) . I'd love to just pop down in my basement for a run, but I still need the Y for the lap pool so might as well use the treadmills there. I've never made a pot roast before but am going to tomorrow. Brian's mom made one over the weekend and I remembered just how much I love that combination - roast, potatoes, carrots, onion, celery! Plus Kroger had buy one get one free chuck roasts, ummm! That's like a $10-25 savings, depending on how big of roasts you get! I got little ones since it's just me but still saved $12, put one in the freezer.

Long May You Run

So, i found a good workout to stay in a recovery range. It seemed to work really well. Got my watch all set for the HR alerts, low 117, high 135. Run until the high HR alert goes off, walk until the low alert goes off. Great! Did this for 1hr04'45" and realized about 1hr01' into it that i never turned the GPS back on after i was playing with all the settings inside !! Duh! .

I'm going to map out the route, i'm hoping i did at least 4 miles in a the little over an hour i was out there.

At least it was a beautiful night to be outside running with my headlamp :)

** 4.65 miles, farther than i thought. It's not easy to keep your HR under 135.

Snippet from this article:
http://m.runnersworld.com/running-tips/how-use-heart-rate-monitor?p...

Suggested workout:This one comes from running coach Roy Benson, a longtime advocate of heart-rate training. To do it, first you'll need to determine your MHR (see "Finding Your Max" below). Now, take 75 percent of your MHR, which wi[...]

Well, that was disappointing that the swimming pool was closed and that I broke my juice fast at burger king ffs. This is not what I expected, but definitely a few lessons for next time. I will have Reezwan have his blood sugar tested before he eats anything else too.

Busy day!  Cold (45*) out this morning so I decided to wait til the afternoon to walk.  So this morning we went to Babies r Us, then out for lunch, and then stopped at a pumpkin patch on the way home.  Also did a load of laundry and emptied the dishwasher.  Whew!  Exhausted.  haha
