--------

Had to adjust my cleat the other day as it was sliding all over the place (loose screw) ...and wondering if my cleat placement on the bottom of the shoe is causing the niggling on my right knee?

Going to have to take my bike in for maintenance (cables, tune-up, etc.) and will ask.

Well, I didn't quite get my peachy square, but at least I did get some stuff done on the farm. Got some ground hog holes filled in that I'm sick of hitting with the mower. Also got the trails looking really nice. Today, I'm going to get a little more physical and use the walk behind brush mower to take down a little bittersweet. It's really unbelievable how quickly the stuff takes over. Also going to try and get our and the MIL's yard mowed over the next couple of days.

MIL is doing pretty well this morning. She was downright chipper this morning. I think because her favorite son is coming in to see her today.

Fridays.
Full moon nights.
Trying to make a choice on what to do with the weekend. There are so many choices!
Cycle 2 ride is in town this weekend. It is wonderful to have a thousand or so people riding bicycles all over the place this weekend. No, I will NOT be riding my bike either with them or in the same general area. Too many bikes on the road with too many tourists. The cars get all pissy having to wait for the bikes and act like idiots. Especially to the poor person in the back (me). A lot of the folks are camping at the park right across the lake from us. Someone is making them breakfast. I can smell bacon and the maple syrup wafting across the lake. YUM.. and I don't even eat bacon.

Gorgeous ride at Vail Mountain today. Soaked in the hot tub then took a nap. It'd be nice if I could recover from all my long rides that way. ;)

Pretty stoked weight is really starting to drop.  Suit pants are getting loose again, good stuff.  93 miles total for month of July is a D+, considering I'm Marathon training.  Shooting for double that this month.  It's going to be tough to do and not get injured, but I'm going to roll the dice with a big focus on proper warm-up and Recovery.

The grandkids were picked up this afternoon by Steve's ex, who seemed a little grumpy and out of sorts. Probably because her parents were also in town for a visit and while very jovial people, I guess they can be very high maintenance.

I'm good with little kids for a couple of hours, but once they start getting mopey and whiney I'm pretty much over it. We had a lot of moments with the 4 year old who seems to be going through a rough phase where she is disobedient and stubborn. Normal stuff, but trying to be sure. It's definitely a good time for her to be starting preschool in a couple of weeks.

I've been waking STARVING these past couple of days.  Apparently my body naturally burns around 1500-2000 calories and so with exercise I've been trying to create a deficit by eating less than 2000.  The scale hasn't moved and I've been hungry in the middle of the night and starving by morning.  Maybe I need to eat more calories so my body doesn't hang on to things and can process everything more easily.  Eat more to lose weight.  Crazy concept but it's worked before.

Hard ride today. I started off easy, with a plan to average 20 for the ride. The start was nice. Cool out, tons of shade, no wind...At around 11, it got HOT and the wind picked up. I really started to feel the hills around that time, too.

There are a little over 70 days before IMKY. I think this route is a good one to ride more, even though it's not my favorite. It's hilly and not exactly easy.

One last thing...my plan had me at 17 hours this week...Oops. I will bump up the volume next week, probably to the 15 hour range.

August 1st the 1st of August and I am starting my training. Just like I did 3 years ago with no endurance built up but I have a plan. I am working with a trainer this time around because the mojo has been missing for a few months. I feel like it just couldn't be done on my own and I needed help. So time to make the goals add the plan to my garmin and get started. Not beating myself up for the past few months but I am ready...lets do this.

Aaaaa and after Thursday, no homework for two weeks!

So, Tony still has a job - which is kind of good, but he HATES his editor, so he almost wishes they would have fired him so that he could get the severance.  I'm pretty sure that the conference call that his editor has asked for in 2 weeks is going to be for exactly that reason.  Nothing like drawing it out slooooooowwwwly.
We also broke down and bought a roof rack for The Duke (my most fabulous Nissan Juke Nismo, for that that didn't know), so that we won't have to try and play Tetris with bikes.  The only downside is that because the length of the roof of the car is so short, they have to reverse mount the bike racks otherwise the ends of the bike racks would have potentially gone through the rear window, or at the very least crumpled the spoiler on the rear window... neither of those options sounded appealing, so I decided to go for the least damaging to the car and do the reverse mount.
