Run and the spinathon this morning. Having a hard time with going back into the club and seeing the owner of the gym. He is taking the class after mine (he doesn't exercise). If there isn't a conversation, it will be awkward at best. I do feel badly as they had to cut an hour out due to lack of participation. Last year we made over $5k. It is such a bummer for the charity but it wasn't promoted correctly by the club. :-(

I got a nice comment yesterday when I went to eat lunch with my mentee at the school. His teacher said he has really bonded with me and she can tell it means a lot to him that I come. She said he is having his best year ever and she thinks a lot of it is due to me. Wow, go figure. It's not like I counsel him or anything. We just chit chat and play cards after he eats his lunch. She said it's just the extra attention and emphasized how much all the kids are looking for a little bit of extra attention. Great! I've been with this same little boy for 2 years now so that is good to hear. I was kind of thinking I wasn't really doing much.
I'm not sure what is on tap today for a workout.
The kids and I need to start gardening. They got a bunch of seeds for Easter.

A good morning and early afternoon outside. Going to my former boss' house this evening for a get together with my former work friends. My former boss and I have always been really good friends and have kept in touch when I moved. She has been really supportive with my mom and stopped by twice to see us in the hospital. Such a good friend. She has 4 kids that I have seen grow up - they are great kids (now young adults). I doubt I will ever have a boss that I am as close to again. She is just a wonderful person, leader, mentor, and friend.

I was so tired/cranky/crampy last night that I had a glass of wine out at dinner, came home, and went to bed at 8:15. I woke up this morning and realized I completely forgot to ride my bike - oops!! So, basically, I've gotten NOTHING done this week. No work, and hardly any riding.
It's still snowing, so I'm off to spin class. Blah. I just need someone else to push me. I'll probably stay a bit late and squeeze in some extra time.

Full RR is done.
Suffice it to say that it was very hard.  At mile 9 both my achilles were cramped up big time and I knew that attempting to run further would = a return to the physical therapy office so I walked it in.  Truthfully, my pace didn't change all that much from the shuffle to walk. A difference between an 11:00 mile average to 13:00 mile.
Very much enjoyed the reenactment going on, it was entertaining.  Most of the course was pretty, few sections of Petersburg with some dilapidated houses--old ones all boarded up that would cost a pretty penny to restore  but would be worth every cent to do so.
First time event--they have some bugs to work out, but overall the race organization did a decent job.  Biggest criticism is they ran out of post race food.

Today is cooking dinner for 20 or so. Most of whom I do not  know ;)
Tomorrows bike ride and river paddle have both been cancelled (if I could do them anyway) because of rain. Up to 2 inches during the day). The ducks and frogs rejoice!
