All right, it was 5 below this morning, and not supposed to get above 10 today. As much as I would like to go ride the fatty on some snow, I'm going to stay inside and hit the trainer. Riding in this much cold is just not that conducive to following a training plan, because I can't ride on the right terrain to hit the intervals and heartrates right - my effort is totally dictated by the surface of the snow. And much more than an hour takes a lot of doing with clothing and planning how to keep water from freezing, etc etc. The good news is that the new boots I bought at REI the other day proved to be PERFECT yesterday - kept my toes toasty, stuck to my pedals well enough, felt good pedaling. After spending the past two winters riding in the snow in my regular bike shoes, I was sick of snow on my ankles and no traction when I had to hike-a-bike.

Today at lunch I will take care of the (abbreviated) lifting and the 35 M walk. After work I will do the 45 M bike. That will leave me with nothing tomorrow and a 1:25 bike for Saturday and a 45 M walk and a swim for Sunday.
Not perfect but not too bad either.

Okay, so the show? It was FANTASTIC. INCREDIBLE. OH-SO-AWESOME. Truly. If anyone wanted to roadtrip to Chicago to see it, I would go see it again with you. Totally worth it.

Working this morning from Starbucks - I don't even drink coffee or tea!!! LOL. Bought an OJ and a muffin. My SUV needed new tires, so I took it to the tire place for a 7:30 appointment and walked to Starbucks to work while I waited. Going to be an expensive day. SUV tires are not cheap!!! UGH!

All day staff meeting = no lunch workout and all staff dinner = no after work workout.
No workout Wednesday.
I think I should try to pare down this workout list so I have at least a chance of success. 45 M bike 35 M walk Swim 1:25 bike Lift 45 M walk
 This will be my goal for the rest of the week. I can't do workouts on Friday, as I have a work lunch and an after work party.

Yesterday, around mid-afternoon, I got one of those cramps between my shoulder blades.  You know the kind where if you turn your head a certain way, or reach an arm out, it really fires a shot of pain?  I am sure it's work related, although possibly left over from yoga on Sunday too.   I was worried about going to the gym, but thankfully that kind of thing is always better when active.
However... I woke up this morning and was reminded.  The first time moving is always the worst.  So my back hurts, this cramp thing, and getting up was pure hell for about 5 minutes.  I took 2 ibuprofen :(.
Today we have a work holiday party with bowling.  We'll see how that goes... I am not a big bowler in general, so if this causes an issue I'll just stop.

Back was a bit stiff this morning from the PT, but it loosened up during the swim.  Did some longer sets working on building some to improve endurance.  A couple sets with fins, thus I was a bit faster than normal.

OK, so I got out of work late yesterday, ran home, put on shorts and zipped to the bike store. Because the ride has arrived! I need to tweak the seat down, NBD. I really need to ride it, so it is in the van waiting for this afternoon. I haven't heard from the job folks. I think my salary needs put me out of the running, but that is for them to decide. And when it's all said and done, I'm still not sure how I feel about it, so I guess I'll wait and see.

Right knee pain free getting out of bed but some lingering soreness during the day. :( Feels like its getting better though. Did foam rolling, stretching and range of motion circles around knees with fixed hips and knees facing forward during circular motion. Did 2x10 eccentric decline squads without slant board.

Noticed right knee area swollen in evening. Maybe due to doing stretches where right knee was on floor.

During my swim yesterday I noticed that there was another big dead waterbug in the pool. Yuck. Water seemed a little cloudy too, and after I showered, the itching started settling in --- mostly on the back of my neck and my arms. It got so bad last night that I put hydrocortizone cream on my arms, which stopped the itch. This has happened at this pool before (L.A. Fitness) and I always question why I keep going back there when i could drive another 2 miles to the Y where they are capable of maintaining a clean swimming pool. Ugh...

Time to dig in on Christmas shopping. I have a few gifts to pick up and need to get some things wrapped. The snow over the weekend kind of put me in the holiday mood.
