Yesterday, I was freaking out a little because I wasn't following the plan that I had set for myself. Looking at things realistically, I'm not doing so bad. I quickly figured out that just because it looks good on paper does NOT mean it's going to work in real life. I need to get to the gym once a week for pilates. My body just functions better with it - especially my hips. The bootcamp class is immediately following pilates, so I can easily spend another 30 minutes at the gym. If I go in 30-45 mintes early, I can get my leg workout in. Other than that, I want at least 30 minutes for chest & arms and another 30 minutes for back and shoulders. I want to do them at the gym because I'm more focused there and certainly work more efficiently. I can roll out of bed in the morning, grab a cup of coffee to drink on the way and just get it done. That's it. Everything else, I can do here on the farm. It's really that simple. :)

Moving time was closer to 1:01 for a 16.5mph average on this ride. Need to figure some things out with my watch, like how to turn on auto-pause! Rode up to The Bike Way via Lake Z and bought a couple of tubes. Then I came back via the north side of Lake Z. Tried setting a PR on the Skutt Straight but the wind was apparently out of the north so I turned around and headed home.

I was hoping for a lazy Friday, but it looks like it is going to be a busy one at the office today. Hopefully that means the time will go quickly!
At PT last night I got the go ahead to try running, but to avoid hills, slopes, uneven ground, etc. Not sure what that leaves me, but I'll figure it out. Since I didn't have any pain while running this whole time, I'm really excited to get back at it so soon. I'm supposed to do my special stretches after, and make note if the walking issue returns after running.

Rainy day with nothing to do so the kids and I decided to go visit my Mom. Rained all the way there and all the way home! Yuck. 
Leg is not giving me very many problems but it lets me know it is not happy every now and then like when I was going down Moms stairs.

Yesterday's session, that I meant to log...(but, today is a rest day!)

Totally love it when the gym is empty, but when it's packed, it gives me a chance to get inspired by those who are performing exercises that maybe I hadn't thought of or have thought of, but just never tried for myself. Tonight, my gym was packed, and it was great to see everyone doing so many different types of exercises from deadlifts and squats, to plyometrics, to a spin bike class to cross fit. High school teens, to people who are in their 60's were there tonight, all trying to improve themselves. My gym has a wall where you can write quotes, sayings, etc in these neon colored magic markers, which is a nice touch. If the gym is packed, it doesn't need to be a problem...make new friends, get inspired, learn something new. Look at it as a good thing, the next time.

OOF. I am SORE this morning. I think my legs have been getting a bit more fatigued every day this week, and yesterday's 1,600 ft climb chasing Lydia did me in. Taking a rest today since my legs need some TLC. 
Aspen has a friend coming over, so I'm going to hang out here and try to get the house clean and catch up on laundry. The neverending job. Have a hair appt at 4:30, and kids are going to Grandma's, so Nate and I get date night - woot!

Vacation day! Spending the day with my parents. They were here a few years ago for over a week and I tool them about everywhere so there is not much they haven't seen. We are going to go back to some of the places and there are still a few new things for me to show them.
Today: Coronado, La Jolla, and Encinitas (where I am now living). They have seen Coronado & La Jolla, but they are great places to see again.

So last night I had to pull myself out of the game due to a right knee pain. This morning it has swollen up a bit and I am debating going to the doctor. I really do not want to go and want to give it the weekend to see what happens. I have to say with my bike messing up and being in the shop for a week and now this, I wonder if this 70.3 is supposed to happen.

26 years for me and the man. So much we've been through together in those years. We've been together longer than we've been apart. Wow. I didn't marry a guy interested in acting and he didn't marry a gal interested in sports. Good thing we've figured out how to adapt over the years. :D Love that man.

100 pullups
200 pushups
300 squats
1 Mile Run

All with a 20# weight vest

Total Time: 45:10

Broke the lifts up into 20 sets of 5, 10, 15. Runs were brutal due to the vest and overall lack of distance running. Still managed to beat last year's time by 3 minutes. Thought pullups would be a struggle since I went awhile without a pullup bar. We'll see if I'm sore for 3 days afterward again.

We're (really more like me as Case had proved too impatient to operate the floor sander: you can't run after it; or stain: goal is for even coverage not to apply it as fast as possible) starting the floor refinishing this afternoon since this is my first full weekend off in forever and neither of us work on Monday. He picked up the rented sander after work and the only other prep work is moving out the large furniture items. The living room and dining room are 600 sq. ft., so four times as large as the spare room I did as a "test" to be sure my DIY skills were up to the challenge. It's not going to be hard, just messy and super tedious. I just hope it goes smoothly.   
The floor project might inspire some de-cluttering too. I'm way more simple in decor than anyone else in my family, but I really enjoyed being home at lunch today and seeing the mantel and top of the book/DVD cabinet cleared off. I might just have to not put all my framed pictures back out. The family ones [...]

9:24 AM: My knee is stiff and swollen. I should have known. I have no "medium" setting. I'm either sedentary or ---- > whatever is opposite of that. Ow.  I have trouble with moderation.
