Because I'm unhappy with my lack of flexibility and general feeling like an old lady, I decided to do something about it. Thankfully the idea came to me while writing an email to Bridg. I just need to combine my trips to 'town', and while it won't be the yoga place I like, there is one not too far from CF (when K is there). So, I don't need to drive an hour one way to yoga, then an hour a different way to CF, and/or an hour the other direction. Will try the new-to-me yoga place tonight or tomorrow.
Moral of the story: writing things down (journal or email) can help work things out AND if you're unhappy about something: change it. Oooommmmmm....
Now, if only I can find an adult gymnastics center!

kind of weird, but I patched together about three hours of riding, outside and inside. It was a tough day out with because of 30+ winds so i was happy to get what I got. Trainer session wasn't bad. Five 15 minute segments building to a zone 4-5 peak and then recover and then build.

Mostly core and legs with some shoulders and back.

Considering signing up for my local fall marathon in October. Always wanted to do the one in my own backyard - quite literally - it goes through my neighborhood. Looked at the web site today and there is a "Back 2 Back" challenge where you can sign up for the spring Half Marathon (May 4 - I did this one last year) and the fall Full Marathon together. Tempting.

Set 2: 12:00 Time cap - Find 1 Rep max power snatch
3x2 light to warm up
95# Max - Maybe could've gotten 105 if I had 5# plates

Set 3: 12:00 Time cap - Find 3 Rep max back squat
2x5 light
185# Max - Tried 195 and only got in 1 good rep

Set 4: 3 rds, for time - 8:40
A) Double KB Squat Clean w/ 53# KBs x 20, 12, 8

UPS tracking said my REI order had been left on my porch this afternoon, but it wasn't there. They've been known to leave things at the wrong house so I decided not to file a claim in case a neighbor stopped by with it tonight. No need though. REI shipped in a bag instead of a box which the puppies dragged out back. My items were strewn across the back yard. Luckily the dress was still in it's baggie and I'm kind of surprised the puppies only ate ONE packet of Honey Stingers. Should probably take them on a walk to burn it off .

My principal stopped by my room this morning to let me know that my contract was renewed. I didn't think much of it since I admittedly wasn't paying much attention and didn't realize the school board even voted last night on contract renewals. Apparently I'm either very lucky, very good or a bit of both. They non-renewed both of our math teachers hired at the same time as me two years ago. Didn't have a clear plan of what to do for my workout today so just squeezed the aqua jog in when I had a chance. Rest of the day got away from me. Had to take the kids to school today so no early swim, health food store after piano lessons for snacks for Grace to leave at school, then the kids had spring concert & book fair tonight.
Foot felt really good this morning. Wore my brace during the 3 hours I taught and it was sore after that but got better after the water jogging and really did not bother me the rest of the day. The other foot is pissed now - for real. My orthotic has rubbed a swollen bruise on my arch. Don't ask my why. Same shoes, same orthotics I've been wearing for all these days. Never bothered me before. Maybe it slipped out of place or something? It felt like I was walking around with a rock in my shoe.

Let the 2014 Season begin!

Back at it today. I was thinking of joining some folks for an evening track workout, but I think the weather will be too nasty for that with temps falling into the 40s with wind and rain by that time. So, I'm going to do a Sufferfest workout, probably "Angels" which is supposed to be hill climbing. The workout and video don't often mesh but I might follow the video which makes you stand in low cadence sometimes. Swim and weights first later this morning.

On another note....in 6.5 hours, I'll know if I'm going to Kona via the IM Lottery. Chances are slim but here's to hopin'! Definitely more on that later if I'm actually selected!

(sigh) nope...not selected...well, onward to IM Louisville! Despite the cold, I may go to the track workout if it's just the temperature that's a problem and not too rainy. If it's pouring or going to pour, then no...Sufferfest it will be. More later....
