Wide awake long before my alarm went off.  Finally looked at the clock to see it was 4:42.  I had been planning to get up at 5 and go lift at the gym, but since I was awake earlier I decided to get up and go to the 5:30 spin class instead.
Going to be a fairly busy week, followed by a busy weekend...is it Friday yet?
Hip is feeling pretty good so far today.  Until I get beat up at PT this afternoon, anyway.

Breakfast: raw apple pear tart
Snack: pumpernickel bagel w/ cream cheese
Lunch: big salad though not the healthiest: romaine, cucumber, tomato, corn, chick peas, cheddar cubes, tortilla and southwestern dressing.
Snack: glass of coconut water

Popped in to an office meeting where they had bagels.  I don't think I've had a bagel in years so I had one.  So bready!  I used to eat one almost every morning when I worked in a cubicle.  Huh.
My cousin participated in the Around the Bay.  She posted photos of the stadium and her bib # all over Facebook.  She's pretty gung ho and good for her; a busy career woman and a mother of 2 - you need something to call your own.  So on the weekend I looked up on the site to see how she did but her bib number (the one shown in her FB profile photo) was registered to another woman... wha???  So I search by name.... nada.  Then I look on the relay list and sure e[...]

Strides/Pickups - Short repeats at a 5K pace with recovery in-between. Each 'repeat/stride' should be about 20-30 seconds long and allow for a full recovery in between. Make sure you are properly warmed up-at least 10 minutes before the first. You are looking to get in about 45 left OR right foot strikes per 30". Multiply by 'two' for your RPM. So 45 left foot strikes per 30 seconds will equal 90 RPM, a running cadence that is the most efficient. You will typically be doing 4-10 repeats of 20-30" strides with a full recovery between sets (depending on the particular workout) by walking back to the starting point.

Over time with these workouts, you will see your cadence quicken, you will be lighter on your feet, and your run times will improve.

√ Yin yoga tonight
What I did this weekend: Took Emma to the vet on Friday evening.  She had two shots (Cerenia and Famotidine).  She was a new dog by the time we checked out.  Seriously.  She's on Rx dog food, Cerenia, Metronidazole (formerlly Flagyl) and 10mg Pepcid.  She is acting herself and has been since receiving the injections.  The bloodwork that they did on Friday was unremarkable. Went out for a belated anniversary dinner.  Our anniversary was on March 20th but we delayed a week due to Shamrock. Purchased shoes.  Ready to "potty like a rockstar" at RnR Raleigh. Went to REI.  Still deciding about the 920xt. Went to coffee with my parents.  My dad is really stressed about their upcoming move.  Sorry but who your cable provider will be and if you need a land line or not is not something that you should be losing sleep over.  (land line, really? they are already paying for two cell phones) Went to a hockey [...]
