Didn't manage a workout yesterday. Painting all day, then had Nate's grandparentsover for dinner, so had to prep and cleanup from that, then spent two hours in bed answering emails - I was way behind on my inbox. Painting today, but it's gorgeous so I'm gonna sneak out for a ride at some point... Or NOT. Got all wrapped up in updating my blog and talking to galleries that I didn't get out the door in time. Will do yoga or something tonight.
Ordered a new stem, seatpost, and saddle for my fatbike yesterday. Can't wait to get it all set up and fitting right. Still need to order some good tires for the snow, but damn - good fatbike tires are not cheap!! Might have to wait until it's actually snowing and I've sold a couple paintings to order those... Don't want to dip into my new bike fund.
Speaking of new bikes, I'm going to demo bikes this month, and hopefully get my new one ordered. Going to ride a carbon Juliana this weekend. I have a few friends who swear by them, but [...]

Made it home.  It was hard to leave yesterday with the feeling that I hadn't accomplished what I had come to do.  The thought had even occurred to me to pull over at noon and register for 2015.  But after a long talk with Connie who understood what I was going through, we laid out a plan that has next year doing HIM's and shorter, mostly local with the possible exception of the FL70.3 in her parents town (good excuse to be in FL in April).  The main goal is to go back and do some of the local races that made me fall in love with triathlons.  I haven't done a lot of these because of the IM focus so I think it will be fun to do these again.
Next September if I still feel the need to finish this race I can register for 2016.  I hope they don't change the course much.

Slept in this morning, even though I was fairly alert at 6 a.m. but kind of wishing I would have gotten up and ran my 4 miles before work.
My 3-hour work meeting was so tedious yesterday because I was making a huge effort to not multi-task during... our Kansas team got a small slap on the wrist last week for not being as engaged in a big meeting as we should have been because we were visibly (video conference meeting) on mute and having side conversations. While I understand this notion and the perception, our team (with 3 really new people) were actually having side conversations about the topics being discussed, trying to gain a better understanding of what was going on. But it looked on the screen like we were goofing off. Ah, technology. So yesterday I paid uber attention to the video screen and didn't look at my laptop or phone once, took notes, etc. - while the people on the other end proceeded to type away on their computers, instant message, interrupt the meeting beca[...]

Nutrition went to hell last night on porch night. How does one log a mish-mash of appetizers and Cava?
Folks did not leave until midnight and then there was the clean up. Major fun was had, lots of laughing and wishing ta-ta to my Mom for the winter. Today is going to be a chore. I don't do well with lack of sleep.

nothing this morning.  i felt like someone had run over me when i got up.  add to that two saddle sores and it wasn't hard to say no to riding.  I did remember to take some b complex this morning so i hope that will help my energy level.  I also weighed myself after breakfast and came up with around 158.  That is probably a little too low.  My usual weigh ins are when i get up, before i eat anything.  after that the weight should be higher.  I need to watch my calories to help the recovery.
I'm hoping to get some form of a swim in between work and playing swim taxi this evening.  On the plus side, i get my rear wheel back so i can get back on my bike.

Dentist yesterday thinks I need a crown for a broken back molar tomorrow morning. Ugh. Down to 4 days left of dog sitting. Fingers crossed for a relaxy quiet weekend this upcoming weekend (yes already looking ahead). Will see if I can get to the grocery store tonight - it was a bust trying to get there last night.

I deserve a high five from somebody! I did in fact get up at 5 Am in order to get my run in. The run wasn't great, but just the fact that I got up is something good!

"Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail." Muriel Strode
Texted a bit with my sister last night, it looks like she is in for a HM. So, I now have something on the calendar. Time to put together some goals and a program. And, it looks like I am getting my FIL's mountain bike. I'll probably strip it for parts, if any are worthwhile. It sure won't fit me, so something will have to happen to it one way or the other.
A co-workers wife passed away last night, cancer. RIP MaryAnn. We are praying for you Jack.
