After getting home at 4:30 am from airport, picking up my daughter from trip to Spain, missed any chance of early morning work out, so no run today (brutal heat not appealing two days in a row. )

HOLY MOLY, that is TOUGH.  I am loving this series though.  I know I am working hard and can feel a difference.
Miss Thing made me take her back to school shopping.  I refused to go to Chesterfield Town Center, made her stay in Colonial Heights at the new Burlington Coat Factory.  She was able to find most of what she needed with the exception of some jeans.

Wow, a lazy day for me! No real energy to do much today. Even took a nap when Felicity went down. I guess i needed it.
I could have done lots of things but went with it.

Return to racing was a great success. Had fun, made it through everything safely. Swim was rough, bike was very good. Run didn't feel like my best effort, but it took me to the podium. That was totally unexpected. lots of room to improve, but after today, I think I've found my new racing outlet, and a new avatar!

Went back to Sabino Canyon park and ran Sabino Canyon. The first 3 and 1/2 miles are on pavement-which was good for the type of workout. I did take a turn down to Sabino Creek creek trail (which I did not see the sign that said that the trail ends in 0.5M). I got screwed up and got off the trail and ended up climbing up the cliffs to the trail. .

Talked to a speed walker on the way up the hill and a couple of cyclists.

After that got on great single track trails and did some serious climbing. 1850 feet. I stopped a bunch of times to take photos.

Run in Tucson for Sabino Canyon Park on the Bear Canyon trail to Seven Falls
Got up and to the park early. It was 83 degrees and 7am and got up to 98 by the time I was done! The first part of the run was on a gravel. Then, it moved to desert trail and was pretty tough at parts. There was a lot of water crossing--which were all dry. I did talk to a couple of runners along the way.

At the seven falls, the falls were dry--but the view was great of the entire canyon we were in. I ran back and then took a mis-turn. I ended back at Bear Canyon parking lot and got an uber to my car.

My neck felt pretty good today.

Don't want to do anything today. Surprised that I got my to the gym. Slept through my paddleboard class but I am pretty sure after the storm last night it was cancelled.

Trying to drag the kids to the pool today in this 90 degree weather. That is only 1/4 of the maximum hotness. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbjGdgtscDA) Great video!!!

Little bit of everything, lot of nothing!

Always one of my favorite races, but just ONCE I'd like to have a decent run.  I kill on the swim and the bike, but have always had a lousy run at this race.  A lot of it is the heat, about half the time is in full sun.  I must tense up on the bike because I end up with knots in my upper back on both sides that I can't seem to massage out as I'm running.  Gotta say that the new bike did me proud!!  Tri Waco 2016 is in the books!!
