It's My Year!

Well I got out and got my 4 miles in this morning, but iut was a struggle to get going. The knees are achier and the legs more tired than I ever remember them being and it seems like they should not be as tired as they are. Many times during my run I came to the conclusion that maybe my "fast" days are over, maybe I will be a slow but steady racer. Or maybe, my lack of doing anything consistently over the last few months is catching up to me. I know I have plenty of time to get ready for the half marathon in Dec, but right now, I am having a hard time seeing my complete my goal of sub 1:50. I just keep telling myself that it is only July, there are alot of miles to cover still.

Loving El Valle.

I miss swimming and cycling, but all the running is great. The runs here are super scenic and quite tough b/c of extremely steep roads into the mountains.

We're here for another week, then it's time to get back to bidness. I'm registered for White Lake and B2B half...I really want to improve on previous times.

I don't think I'll get my last run for the month in. I met a friend for coffee this a.m. and am meeting another friend for HH after work. No time to run! :)
It was nice taking a "rest month" - ha ha. Less than 50 miles.  I need to get through Ragnar ok and then start another build for the 10-miler in October!  Bob and I have the Tour de Tonka on Saturday, and then no super long bikes for a while.

Had to forgo an early morning workout today since I had to be at work at 6:30.  Planning to leave work around 3 or 3:30 and go to the gym...assuming I'm still awake.  I think the baby's been having a growth spurt this week, as I've been extra hungry and tired (also haven't been sleeping altogether great, which doesn't help).  The pelvic floor soreness from yesterday continues...my OB agreed that it's likely due to the ligaments becoming even looser and thus having a more difficult time supporting the extra weight and pressure from the baby with higher impact activity.  Can't really complain, though, since that's all part of the process and necessary for his eventual evacuation into the world!

The training plan for today specified that this z1 brick should be done in the morning.  I ended up going to the gym and banging it out before work.

I spent a few minutes this morning working on my new Speedplay pedals. Zero Chromoly. Think I have them working. Amazing amount of float. We'll see if I can get used to them.

1:25 PM: Lifting tonight. No Ronnie today, meetings have dominated my morning hours, so this means I had no time to see him during lunchtime. Poo.
This day deteriorated into emergency phone calls, sworn statements, meetings, and working until 7 PM or so. It wasn't pretty. No lifting occurred.
This hasn't been my best showing in terms of "training" this week. Phooey.

6:09am:  Zzzzzzz.  Stayed up late waiting for my roommate to get home -- she leaves for Sturgis, SD today and so I won't see her until I get back from Canada.  Because this was supposed to be *my* week on vacation (which I informed her of well over 6 months ago), she's in charge of boarding the dogs.  So they'll be going to extended doggy day care this morning which will make for a VERY quiet house until I leave.  I'll miss them, but will also appreciate being able to schedule my life around me rather than my two favorite four-legged furry friends.
Will get in a quick workout when I get home and then finish up with what I can.  Small load of laundry, find a swimsuit (or tri suit) that fits for the white water rafting day of the trip, get my electronics all charged and ready to go, that kind of stuff.

Ended up wrapping up a day early so I headed north and contemplated a run when I got home but just rested instead. Need to get running to get stronger for #TD15 if that is going to be successful. If TransIowa doesn't happen I will do Buffalo Marathon instead. Let the prayers begin for TI please!

Nada. Got home, took my antibiotics, then napped in and out on the couch.
The antibiotics say that dizziness is a side effect. I wonder if they could make me tired?
