Improving. Trying advil and ice today. Hoping that keeps the body comfortable without the headache and dizziness. Short walk around the neighborhood.
Emma's follow up X-ray went well, pancreas test still pending. She are a quarter of a can of prescription food and is acting much more perky. Pancreas test OK.

The recap of the weekend. Starting at the top L. Chris and me at the reunion. Chris in the LATIN ROOM @ OPRF on the tour. Me and two other SIGNIFICANT OTHERS. Most people did not bring dates. I found these two and glommed on. The blond looks like Caprica 6 from Battlestar Galactica. The other one is a good German girl named Heidi Steinkraus. Doesn't get any more German than that. Chris' nametag and HS photo. Me. And my pumpkins. Chris and me on the field THE DAY AFTER the sold out football game. Chris in front of his locker. Me and a guy named Bob. He was gay, hilarious, and an awesome dresser. Chris' childhood home.

Tonight I had the option of swimming laps or going to swim conditioning class.  I opted for laps because I didn't feel like working as hard as class would have been.  Then the laps felt sloppy and not very satisfying.  Not sure if I'm pushing myself to start back into a routine too soon or if I NEED to push myself back into a routine or what.  This is the mental part of the game, I know that.  I can feel myself slipping into just wanting to focus on 1 thing (running) and not wanting to feel like I HAVE to do something 6 days a week.  I think I'm also psyching myself out about the swim class and coming up with every excuse in the book why I don't have to start yet.  I'm giving myself this one pass, but next week--no excuses.
No run plan from Joey yet but we have training club tomorrow night so I'll see what he's come up with for me.  I hope I'm not setting myself up for burn-out by doing this HM training plus swim class plus riding 1x/week plu[...]

Life won't wait forever

7:15am:  I woke up this morning so depressed that Monday was here again already.  It felt like I had JUST STARTED another week and that the weekend shouldn't have gone so fast.  That's when I realized that it was actually Tuesday.  Heh. This is probably the happiest I've been for a Tuesday in all of history.
Almost didn't work out yesterday.  I got a new phone (my old phone, even though I loved it, was getting flakier and flakier) and I'm still deciding how much I love it.  It's an absolute joy to use, for sure, but it's big and kind of a pain to carry around (even though it still fits in my back pocket, I'm afraid to carry it there).  I'm waiting to see how I'll adapt.  So, long story short, I played around with that until I didn't want to work out anymore.  And then I stumbled on a motivational video someone posted on Facebook and I was guilted into getting in my reps.  Go, me!
My roommate comes home from AZ today, assuming that[...]

Be badass every day

First 15 minutes on the bike were absolutely miserable. I had to stop a couple of times, but after awhile, all the bad melted away and I felt much better. Ended up with a halfway decent ride.

The closer Friday gets, the more excited I become. Since I've decided to fight to get this heart problem fixed so I can move on, I want it to happen right now! My cardiologist has been hesitant to stent me because of the risks involved in where the blockage is. I think a future afraid to do what I want to do is far riskier than having the procedure.

I had a decent day going nutritionally until Fred came home and said he thought we should have pizza and beer for dinner. I was a very willing participant!

Yesterday:
Hit my step goal (+3000!)
Drank my water
Food:
Pumpkin raisin protein muffin
Oats w/applesauce, coconut chips, walnuts, pp
Turkey meatloaf on oat pita, potato
Yogurt w/1/2 pecan granola bar
String cheese wrapped in turkey
Pizza, beer, almond joy ice cream w/pb cho[...]

Had to go to Urgent Care last night.  My leg got infected over the weekend.  I'll spare you the details, although I will say it meets all the criteria signs of an infection.  I'm on an oral antibiotic and an antibiotic ointment with instructions to return if it doesn't improve in 2 days.  I'm not sure what this means for the race on Saturday.  If it was just running, I wouldn't worry, but running in combination with the mud has me concerned.

Decided to skip Body Back tonight. I'm concerned about too much sweat and dirt in the wound.

That was a solid 4 weeks. Decided to start eating breakfast again and I'm down 8 pounds so I'm going to keep the that experiment this month. Instead, the plan is to completely eliminate dairy. I don't consume much except for greek yogurt and whey so that shouldn't be too hard. Workouts look more intense this month and I'm back to a 5 day split so I'm excited. Unfortunately that probably means a little less running.

Last day of this training block. Finished with this bit of nastiness:

8:00 AMRAP
A) KB snatch R w/ 53# KB x 1, 2, 3...
B) Burpee box jump x 1, 2, 3...
C) KB snatch L w/ 53# KB x 1, 2, 3...
B) Burpee box jump x 1, 2, 3...
Got through the round of 6 reps

Working half day, then coming home to take Bee to the vet for a "senior" checkup. I think she may be having some teeth issues and want to get that looked at.

I should have time afterwards for a run. For whatever reason it's been very warm this week, like in the mid 80s, which is too warm for any kind of quality running. Some people thrive on hot weather, it just sucks the energy out of me.

We have another mouse in the house. The cats are on stakeout duty. Told them I want to see results.

OK so no run tonight, evening got away from me.

Bunch of kettlebell and med ball stuff

A bit of a tedious kind of day. Feel like I didn't get a lot of school stuff done but actually we did. Just not by the books I guess. Phonics lesson took a really long time this morning. She hates the coding and it really does not seem to be helping her read the words any easier. In fact all the extra marks make it more confusing and distracting for her to see the actual word so I think we are about to drop it and play some phonics games instead. We have no time to play games because by the time we get through all of the lesson she is DONE with phonics. I'm going to list everything we did so I can see for myself this was a productive day:
She read 2 Usborne stories in the van and listened to the book on CD all the way to the Y.
Wrote in her diary at the Y.
Joined me for gym because I only had one student show up today so she had P.E. and worked on backwards flipping with assistance and made up a funny & creative dance with hula hoops :).
Math at home and she was a[...]
