It has been an interesting few weeks through June. From NY convicts to SC to SCOTUS, there has been a lot going down. And it has been interesting to watch reactions. Reactions that have included fear, anguish, heartbreak, disgust, excitement, and nearly everything else one can imagine. Reactions that have ranged from the quick and thoughtless to the deliberate and full of consideration. I try to look at the reactions in an effort to figure out what motivates and moves people and some can be figured out quickly and easily, while other motivations are deeper and sometimes darker. And while it has been somewhat sad to see those snap judgment, non thought based reactions, it has been gratifying to see the reactions based in love and acceptance, kindness and warmth. I am convinced that it is the portion of society that shows the acceptance, kindness and deep thought that will win out in the end. The other side of things, the sensational and the over the top, may get more press coverage bu[...]

No, you are not seeing things, I did manage to find my way to a pool.  Mostly good, although the right shoulder complained at first it did loosen up.
I think that was the first swim of 2015!  Nope, must have swam 700 yards on one of my trips to the beach.

So last week was a bit of a wreck. As will this week be. I'm on vacation starting on Thursday, so I might just pause the training program until I get back. I never did register for that tri on the 17th anyway, so I don't really have a hard and fast deadline.

My ol' favorite yoga class up north doesn't start till 6:30 p.m. - I thought it was 5:30 so that's a nice surprise. Thinking about yoga-ing and then swimming afterwards tonight. That swim Friday was humbling. I know I just need to get in the pool more often and it will come back, so I might as well just do it.
Random, I called two yard maintenance companies over lunch. One is going to drive by tonight and give me an estimate but their normal price is $35 per mow. The other place minimum is $47 per mow (seems really high?! for my tiny yard?). Trying to decide if I should just buy a new lawn mower ($300?) or pay for the service for the rest of the summer. I actually don't MIND mowing, it's just the thought of dumping the money into a new machine all at once. Maybe I'll price some out tonight while I'm next to Home Depot.

Strength train and/or yoga.

Pushups, dips and pullups are all done to fatigue on every set. Squats are bodyweight squats.
If you can't do the conventional pushup, start with the Knee's Bent Pushup
If you can't do one pullup, have somebody help you by helping push you up at the waist.
Parallel Bar Dips can be substituted with Bench Dips

Strength training should also include one of these Core Programs or The Hard-Core Program

I am not quite sure of what to do with myself.  My sister Laura called last night just before 11 pm to let me know that our uncle Al had passed away.  This is quite sudden.  He wasn't well but he wasn't so sick as to expect this.  So, obviously it was difficult to settle back to sleep. Felicity woke up around 3:30 am. Not quite sure why. Darren brought her to bed with us and i actually found it nice to cuddle with her even though she wasn't very sleepy.  Gosh, she was cute - telling about 'Lucas, he's a funny one, hahahaha' and same with Marcus (kids in her room at daycare) and she proceeded to sing all the songs she knows.  It was very cute.
She did eventually settle and my alarm went off for swimming and i just turned it off. I didn't expect to make it but i woke up and Darren was asking me what i wanted to do. Turns out it was only 6:15 so i ran around getting ready and made it actually pretty much on time!
I am at work and I'll wait f[...]
