Welcome to March with 8 inches of snow.
Whatever.......
I'm getting really anxious about running or lack of running all of the sudden. I want to be running more. Not even a lot, just enough that I can race a sprint. Like I said, making me anxious. If I can get over that 2 year chronic tendonitis issue I should be able to get this freaking knot out of my heel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Church was as empty as I have ever seen it today. Took kids sledding at Tiff's after lunch. She has a big hill. Then for some reason they wanted to trudge around trying to walk in the woods by her house. The snow was over DD's knees, DS's boot fell off in the snow. They liked it though. It was kind of quiet and peaceful.

Ran a half-marathon today. Had not really trained for it and still recovering from Arrowhead and did a hard bike ride yesterday, also. 37 degrees and windy drizzle; it was pretty tough conditions and hands were frozen stiff.

Finished 3rd in AG and got a belt buckle award, so that's pretty cool.

It's a shiny new month! We got about 4 inches of snow last night, which will need to be shoveled after I have a cup of coffee. Can hear a cardinal singing happily in the back yard and it's such a happy, hopeful sound.

On tap for today: need to get a respectable long run in and I don't think I can take another treadmill run. If the plows have been out, I'll hit the roads. Then a swim and maybe some strength.

Update: We got closer to 11 inches of snow. Parking lots and side streets are still a mess; decided to skip going to the gym in favor of home workout. Made a pot of turkey chili using a knockoff recipe of Paneras chili, the whole house smells good.

Juice Fast Day 6: Weight 212 (Down 12 lbs) Body Fat - 35.6%

Feeling great. Slept well. Other than cooking a chicken picatta meal for the family the day was very easy to get through. Energy level was great. Kidneys are definitely working just fine.

Ran 11 today. Right calf def. is strained. How'd that happen? Ran easy, kept pace constant, and avoided any surges or speed.

So, a quick comparison of my 2012 and 2015 training. Very similar volume, HOWEVER, the 2015 volume was all done at MUCH faster paces overall.

WELCOME TO MARCH! And a the first Green square of the season has appeared! Well, March is certainly coming in like a lion because it's again....snowing....(sigh). More of a wintry mix today on tap with snow, sleet, and freezing rain in the forecast. There are at least signs of Spring in the long range forecast and the pattern shifting. I do see one last blast of Arctic air this Thurs-Fri and another backdoor shot next week. But, then things start to look like Spring the end of the next week. Gosh, about time too!

This morning I at least feel like I got a good amount of decent sleep without waking up with too much of an issue, i.e. headache/migraine. Hopefully, I'm really am more on the mend now with any residuals from the cold. I'm still going to see if I can meet with my doctor about these I think.

Today I will do at least a 2 hour CT session and may keep it relatively easy. Just trying to get some time in while exercising different areas and in the bike, my right le[...]

Going to repeat week 1 on the hiking fitness program this week. Going to take special care to pay attention to the strength moves so I don't aggravate anything further. Easy and consistent is the goal for the week.

March 1st already. Where does the time go? Well, went to the gym today, then afterwards, not right after, but maybe an hour after...I went for run. Not so good. Think I'm dehydrated, as I felt really crampy all the way through the run. :( I should sleep good tonight though. Already warm here, I wonder if summer will be a scorcher.

Feeling MUCH MUCH better today!
Had a training talk at my house for race team today, and we were going to ride fatbikes, but the talk went so long that no one had time to ride when it was done. Since I don't have to ride with the group, I'm going to take advantage and take one more day to rest and get better so I can hit the training hard this week. Tomorrow I have a workshop, so I won't be able to ride outside, but I plan to set up the trainer to do some intervals.
