good swim.  back to the time of year when the water is warmer than the air :).  intervals felt good.  The run was good.  weight is back to normal which is probably why I didn't feel like curling into a ball this morning.  felt good to move for the first time in two mornings.

What to do now?  I enjoyed sleeping in this morning but don't want to get used to that, but may for the rest of this week,  We are going to San Diego Saturday for a week.  May run a little out there just because it is so nice.  When I get home I am going to start the P90X3 program with some S/B/R mixed in for maintenance. Will build the run up and look for some HM's for the spring.

Stars were out this morning but no moon, so it was pretty dark. This doesn't usually bother me since most of the streets in this area are well lit. Decided to take the paved bike trail for a bit and stubbed my toe on what was probably a bump in the pavement and went down. It was one of those "oh " moments but I managed a fairly graceful roll onto my left side and ended up with just a few scraps.

probably time to bust out the lights for morning running.

BeeBee's vet visit went pretty well. I love Dr. Sandy, she is a runner (a really good runner!) and did her first triathlon this summer. She was brutally honest about how freaked out the open water made her, and said she just decided to breast stroke the whole thing. ANYWAY, BeeBee has chipped a front fang, but Dr. Sandy did not think that was causing her problems as the gum around the tooth was healthy and there was no evidence of pain. She did think that allergies are the main cause of the cat's issues and said that her lun[...]

Find out what I can do

The doc says it's a possible stress fracture of the medial cuneiform bone in my foot.  (that's the bone behind the metatarsals which connect to the toes.)  No big ligaments or tendons attach there. It's the only place that hurts and seems pretty specific.
His prescription:  MRI to confirm, then bone stimulation to help the break heal.  Says he'll have me ready  to 'jog' in five weeks.  I'm already off of it for 18 days.  That will be just over seven weeks in all.  This week was supposed to have a 20 mile run in it.
The MRI is going to cost me $1000. .  I can buy an ultrasound  bone stimulation unit online for between $250 and $350.  Think I'll skip the MRI, buy the bone stim and use it.
Options:
skip IMFL altogether. - don't think so.
no running whatsoever till the race, but train the walk.
aqua jogging until the race.
bone stim + aquajogging + walk training + try a run about one week before the race.
The problem[...]

Nutrition went to hell last night on porch night. How does one log a mish-mash of appetizers and Cava?
Folks did not leave until midnight and then there was the clean up. Major fun was had, lots of laughing and wishing ta-ta to my Mom for the winter. Today is going to be a chore. I don't do well with lack of sleep.

I raced a half iron (worlds) this month then followed it up with an IM (maryland) this month. In between I sherpa'd Ironkids and IMCHOO. So I have been very busy and training volume suffered.

I'd say the 70.3 was a rousing success. My tactics leading up to the race really paid off with a great race in all three disciplines. 13 days later I was riding the whole year high and raced the bike too aggressively after a difficult swim. The heat/lack of shade, some inner right quad cramp at mile 70, and elevated watts hurt my run bad and I struggled, but came in strong to finish 16th in AG. The IM left me wanting another crack at the distance.

Now I turn to Miami 70.3 with the team at the end of October with a somewhat fatigued body and disengaged mind. This will be anot[...]
