Deer hunting season is a huge deal around here. Some schools even take a day off school. We don't hunt so I don't really get into it but there are tons of pics on FB of people posing with the deer they just shot. Am I the only one who thinks this is a little gross?
Woke up to a sore hip and heel after that sad little run last night. Felt perfectly fine during the run, even thought about trying to add another run to the week. Ha.

Plenty of Vitamin I yesterday, rest and ice/heat. Hip this morning just feels tight/tired so hopefully it will be ok. IF it still feels ok after work, I will try the elliptical. I contacted BCS yesterday and I have missed the deadline for downsizing to the half. I can still run the half if I want but they can't guarantee I will get a medal or a finishers shirt and it can be a game day decision. So we are going to see what the hip can do this weekend. If I can get to 18-20 we will give the marathon a go. If we can't, we will run the half and just take our chances. Either way, we are going to Texas. :)

Crap weekend, wanted to get a long run in, but it was not mean to be. My dad got really sick. Seems his bladder infection got bad and the infection got into his blood and we had to run him to the ER. They sedated him and gave him a breathing tube and moved him to ICU. Not a cool site to see your dad laid up like that. Thankfully they say he has turned a corner and is doing well now, but it was a long weekend. Would appreciate prayers from anyone that might read this.

In the office today. It's warm - like warm outside and warm in the office and I am feeling drowsy.
Chatted with Darren on BBM video last night - i am missing him and he's missing us. I am tired. Trying to keep on top of stuff but it's alot to manage a house and toddler on one's own. Kudos to those who do it all the time!  I am happy to report that the house is not as big of a wreck as it could be. I managed to clean the whole down stairs and the upstairs bathroom.  Meals are planned and ready.
Going swimming tonight! No matter how tired I am!

Don't think outside the box. Think like there is no box!
Stretch and strengthen day today. Tomorrow's run is on new shoes. The weekend only proved to be a bit bad for the waistline and not a total cr@pshow. DD2 is starting a side business of cupcake making, so who gets to be the guinea pig? This is going to take some will power.
New shoes will get broken in tomorrow morning:

Back again following that brief interruption, and that is all it was... anxieties and stress knocked me for 6 again and then I lost the momentum.

Not much new going on here. Still trying to stay off my foot as much as possible. Tomorrow, the stitches come out, so I should be able to put my heel down. Not sure how much more mobile that will make me, but I guess I'll find out. I need to call the dr and see how much pain medicine I should take before I go in. I think if they're just removing stitches, I'll take one pill, but if the pins come out, it will be a two pill kind of morning. I think the pins stay in for a bit longer, but I'm not sure.

Last week, there was a leak in the ceiling in my office and they found mold.  Of course all the emails were telling us the situation was under control and blah blah blah, so I didn't think anything of the fact that my throat felt a little weird towards the end of the week.....until I ended up in urgent care on Friday afternoon.  Then, I felt fine the entire weekend, and came back to the office thinking it was all fixed, but within 30 minutes my eyes started swelling up and my nose turned bright red.  They moved me to a temporary desk in another office (with no developer tools) and I'm now hearing it could be until January until it's all sorted out!  Yikes!
Only half day for me today though cause I'm heading down to New Orleans.  So excited!  Tommy finally sent me an email last night and told me what time and where to meet him, so I'm feeling better about that.  Just hoping now that there are no airline delays as I'll be cutting it close as it is ([...]

I have committed to being more "festive" this year!
Typically I really dread the holidays. Hanging out with my family is the best part - but ALL THE GIFTS has always been a huge source of stress for me. Mainly because giving and receiving gifts is just not how I show or prefer to receive love (5 Love Languages, anyone?) - and everyone just tells you what to get them anyway! So this year Brenda and I pitched that our family would just... not do gifts. With some caveats. Adults can bring a $25 or less gift for a fun exchange - and a no-cost white elephant gift from around the house - but that's it. I think that alone made the weight lift off my shoulders like you wouldn't believe. Now I feel like I have more capacity to BE FESTIVE! And enjoy the holiday!
For the first time in 10 years, I put up a tree (I used exclusively race medals for ornaments! It looks so good!). I decorated my mantle. I bought a wreath for my door. I have even slightly enjoyed the Christmas music Br[...]

No P90X3 today, decided to take a run instead.  Slow run though, not sure if it is because I haven't run more than 3 miles in a while or the heat and humidity of the morning but the last 2 miles were a bit brutal.  Not complaining, but it did slow me down some.
I left Molly behind today as she isn't a fan of the warmer weather.  I guess it is that fur coat she wears!

Starting a new week. And a new Challenge. CTS has a Thanksgiving week bike challenge that I am doing. Coach Approved. 15hrs bike including my Bike hard workouts. I still get to run and swim some too. This should help to jump my bike fitness and keep me on track for what will be a busy week/ weekend.

Rest day today and as yesterday was the longest I've run since B2B, I find myself a bit sore today. So, definitely need it. It also works out that I'm going to this gathering at the local running shoe store this evening which traditionally held after the JFK 50 miler which was this past Sat. It's been a good event and perhaps I'll win a door prize this year. Plan rest of week later...
