Some brands include several sizes of nose pieces with the goggles.  My Speedos did.  Other brands do too.

I guess I have a pretty high nose bridge because I had bought a pair of relatively cheap goggles (Ironman ones) and the hard plastic nose piece actually cut my nose. I even have a little scar there now from it.

I went with Aqua Sphere Kaimans.  They are really soft plastic and so, even though they rest on my nose, they don't hurt at all (they didn't even hurt while my nose healed from the previous pair).  And they are just all around great goggles (even come in colors for help with bright sunlight).  They go for under $20 (think I paid like $15 or so at Modells) so not too expensive either.

I switched from the Aquasohere Kaimans to the XP's. They are a smaller but I get the same excellent fit and no leakage.

x2 on the Aqua Sphere XP's. Could never use any of the other ones. Barracuda's were ok, but fogged too much.

I have a fairly prominent proboscus as well, and the only "comfortable" goggles I've found are the Aqua Sphere Kaiman's or the Seal Mask XP.
