They finally came out with the first one (IMCA) and it is awesome. Nothing like riding the trainer on the next best thing to being there. The video is fantastic.

IM Kona ships out Feb 25th, I can't wait.

For those that haven't seen it here is a link to some samples of what it looks like on the computrainer.

Was it easy to install?

I just ordered the CDA and got the confirmation email that I should have it on Monday.

It was very easy to install. I went online and downloaded the beta version to check it out and get my computer setup before the full course.

However, below is a link to the forum section at computrainer that helps with adjusting your screen. It seems kind of technical but works perfect to allow just the right amount of space on your screen for the video and have the info bar and spinscan going all at the smae time.

Once you get it let me know if you need help because I just went through it myself and would gladly work with you over the phone to get it dialed in. It is so worth it. I love it.

How does it compare to : http://www.ergvideo.com/default.aspx

I wonder. I think I'll support the small guy who has more selection than racermate.

Ergvideo is the same thing taped for the Computrainer. Different courses. It looks like Computrainers main focus was to start on Triathlon courses and ERG on multiple bike type courses. It was just a matter of getting the technology going and now that it is usable several companies are filming videos. I heard of another company that is going to go film Tour de France stages this year as well.

I wish they would have released them in the order of the races.  I have been waiting for IMAZ for so long.  Looks like maybe by next week

Me too. I am doing IMAZ this year and would love to have the course now.

The nice thing about the videos are that you can run them as demos and see the course without having to get on the trainer. I sat the other day and watched the complete IMCA course and it was funny how I expected something completely different. Nice course.

Actually, if you do a search for "ergvideo" over on ST, I think you'll see they actually are not the same thing.  Seems they are 2 dif ways of using real video.  Seem to compliment each other INO.  I of course, have used neither, so take this fwiw...which might not be much.  :-)

Great like my family and friends don't already think I am crazy now I will probably sit around and watch an empty road in my spare time just to familiarize myself with it more Wink

I believe you are correct here.  I have the ErgVideo courses and here's the difference.  The ErgVideo controls the CT through coaching software and is exactly made to regulate the power based on how tough the grade is.  The program controls the power.  If the video is going up a 10% grade for example and it takes 300 watts of your power to do that, you have no choice but to put out 300 watts.  If you try to pedal more slowly, the load generator increases the load.

On the standard CT courses, you yourself determine the power output by how fast you pedal and how hard of a gear you use.  If it gets harder climbing a hill, you can simply slow down to decrease the power output.

Personally, I like the ErgVideo system a lot better, because it really replicates actual road riding.  And you can adjust the base level to your FTP.  Mine is about 245 watts so thats what I set it at, and all rides are structured around that as a base power output.  For someone with an FTP of 200 watts, they would set it to their requirements and the two of us could ride the same course with the same physical effort.

Finally got my CDA video and set it up. After a few frustrating hours of getting it set up correctly... WOW it is awesome. Very cool to see and get a feel for what is to come in 3.5 months.
