Hmmm....dec. 12th....have to look into that .....I would like to do a 10k before winter sets in....have to look at calendar.

Wow..nikki, you really got the ball rolling here, only issue is...ummm...you gotta do some training

Awesome thing tonite. Good to brainstorm. The 12th looks somewhat easy but the rest will have to be after the new year.

cool, exciting!!

Hi guys, late to the discussion! Training in max's garage sounds FUN! and you can definitely fit more than 8 trainers in there I think.

Definitely think skiing/snowboarding or xc ski should be incorporated into the cross training schedule. I'll run outside, but not ride.......HELL NO, not now.

Walden pond in the spring is a good idea though.

Waving a big "hi" to my fellow Massachusetts folks. I'm usually too crushed for time to drive real far, but I'm hoping that something that you guys set up works for me.

I have a collection of Spinervals that are another option for the indoor bike.

Max, I am just back from my swim clinic at CAAN. It was awesome. I hope that you like it as well.

What am I thinking - max's?? I'm pretty central, near intersection of 128 and I-93. My basement which can be COOLED down in the winter (it's nice and cozy with the pipes from the furnace) can hold 7 or 8 trainers in "my" side of itf. I already have a TV and DVD down there where my trainer is set up, so max doesn't have to bother.....(I think it's my turn to host a get together anyway, isn't it?) Hub even started building a raised shelf in the corner for my TV and DVD player while I was away the last few weeks.

You just gotta find me home on weekends over this winter - my work schedule is going to be pretty wacky for the next few months.

We'll save the cape for the nicer weather - look out CHRIS and Wonky.

Nikki, TOTALLY go for the 10K!  I had never done it before ever.  The most I'd run at one time was 4.25 miles, and that was indoors on a flat track.

Get some people to run with you (I can attest to May being a GREAT motivator) and get'er done.  You'll feel awesome when it's over and you've done it!

I'm jealous you guys!!  Enjoy your training

That sounds good Nikki. If May is in town, and there is an available weekend for indoor training, we could schedule one there, since she's probably more centrally located than me. But if you don't mind the drive out this way, any weekend that I'm here, you all are more than welcome to come up and take over the garage. Just bring bikes and trainers. I have no DVD for use downstairs, but I do have a small TV with a built in VCR that can be used. And all the Gatorade you might want to drink...got plenty of that!

I'll be going down to the Newport race, not registering ahead of time, I'll just do it on race day. We'll have to coordinate to meet at registration or something, Ellen and May are the only ones I know by sight.

Good, so it is geneally agreed that  Dec. 12 th will be a possible get together run.

After that, I think the most likely time will be after xmas? Maybe during x-mas break? Max's or May's ? for bike?

hi isis...i sent you a pm. we haven't gotten much together yet, but more so because of the holidays. all are interested in putting together at least once a month workouts (right guys?). also, we are aprising each other of races in the area to do together. max and i made it to the 10K in newport last weekend. keith almost swiped him away for a 10 miler in andover, but i think the charity cause for me was stronger.

I'm out in north central Mass, and only get into the Boston area when someone puts a gun to my head! Good riding area out here, not as much traffic and plenty of great roads. We'll be planning some group activities this season for sure!

Just found the thread, too. I'm in the Boston area but am willing to drive a bit on weekends. If there's a list existing, can I be added?

Hi Everybody,

I would love to be added to the list for events around the Boston area. I am just north of the city and I am already daydreaming about riding this spring! Has anybody ridden around the Topsfield area? Ever since I went to the fair there last fall, I have been dreaming of setting up a training ride on that road!
