Chippy - 2008-02-28 3:05 PM What were we saying? You can't possible get better at this sport without weight lifting? Got it.

And intervals and compression socks and Newtons and .........

Wait, wait! How did I miss the discussion on compression socks?

Can I weight lift in my Newtons with my compression socks on?

huh?

are you speaking in tongues?

Apparently to you.  I'll try this once.  Saying that in a New York Times article there were more people that said red bikes were faster than blue bikes does not mean that the case is decided for red bikes.

If you still don't get it, I give up.

MikeTheBear - 2008-02-28 3:09 PM Does this have anything to do with strength training?

How'd you ever figure that one out???

ah punctuation in my original post should have been clearer - but I was typing fast.

I did not mean that this post was an argument for a debate - simply that the NYT article was not so neutral NYT not neutral there is a surprise

it should have been separate from my response to Scout regarding my supposed tone.

Does the residue left on your fingers have anything to do with speed? And is it legal in the eyes of the USAT?

PennState - 2008-02-28 1:57 PM Hey, I'm clueless... what thread got pulled?

The thread was about weight lifting but believe or not the majority of the posters (including myself) were just teasing and agreeing about the fact that weight lifting might or might not help endurance athletes. There wasn't really any debate going on, in fact it was more of a "we are all tired of argue about a subject that doesn't have definitive conclusion" kind of thread and people acting silly. That was until a poster felt the opposite...

Could be a banned substance.  Like caffeine.

As long as you don't snort it, it's okay.

Eat Cheetos in T1 and T2, and you'll have enough residue left on your fingers to make up your whole nutrition plan for the bike and the run.

it's the caffeine.  the red dye in the orange of the cheetos binds to the same receptors acting adrenaline/caffeine/nicotine.  so does that mean that cheetos will be banned as the latest PED?
