Pre-race routine:

I had my usual oatmeal with almonds and raisins for breakfast at 6 am but i made the mistake to eat one energy bar with butter. Big mistake, I was tasting it the entire race

The weather was very cold but I tried to stretch as much as posible

Comments:

Running felt good. I was able to run the first 10 miles without stopping; after that I was stopping for about 50 seconds each one of the last 3 miles.
What would you do differently?:

I need to train longer distances. I only run 8.8 miles once as my longest training run

My HR was out of control wich it was a concern during the first 5 miles. Right away after I started running, my HR went up to 169 and I did not think I was running hard at all. I tried to settle my breathing and my HR went down to around 160 and stayed there (my goal HR was 152 per my training)
