Yep, I'll be there. Not putting too much worry into this one. Just looking forward to a good, fun, easy run. If I break an hour I'll be happy. Hope to be able to catch up with you guys. I assume you'll be donning your grass skirt and coconut bra? Wink

I'm in. Should be a nice PR as long as they don't let the walkers squeeze into the front corrals. Ran it two years ago and it was ridiculous with the amount of walkers I was running over in the beginning!

Sorry, but that's a CCC tradition. If you want  to run, put down <40 minutes as your expected finish time. Otherwise you have to fight through the masses until you turn off of Poydras.

Cool

Hi! I'm kind of new here. I did the CCC this morning -- my first 10K, and I loved it. I'm a slow runner, and I really do mean slow, but even so, the whole first mile and a half was spent weaving through walkers. I'll know to lie about my time next year. My friends in the 45 minute group even had the same problem. I felt like I had run my 6 miles by the time I got to the one mile mark. But I was sure proud of myself for running the entire distance.

I have a question for you who seem to be from Louisiana. I plan on doing the Louisiana Tri next month, and it might be wetsuit legal. Have y'all done this tri? Did you wear a wet suit? Is there a place within a 1 1/2 - 2 hour radius of Baton Rouge where I could try on a wetsuit? Any advice? I've only done 1 sprint distance tri before (the meat pie last year). This is my 2nd year of this sport, and I don't intend to be competitive. My goal is to come in not too far from the end.

By the way, my username was supposed to be Realbecca -- what my niece called me when she was little, but my fingers were on the wrong keys, and I was too lazy to go back and fix it. Besides, reakbecca is pretty accurate after a workout.

Hey Becca. Congrats on the CCC yesterday. You're right, it was EXTREMELY crowded, and I was continuously dodging people and zig-zagging up until at least 1.5 miles in, and occasionally throughout the rest of the race. Great after-party though. Cowboy Mouth was awesome as usual.

Unfortunately I don't have any info on the LA Tri. But I'd guess that the wetsuit is definitely not needed. However, for the buoyancy effect, it may be desired. Hopefully someone else will have the specifics for you. Good luck.

This race report from Matt (Biseman) indicates that the Louisiana Triathlon was wetsuit legal last year, his report from 2006 indicates it was borderline wetsuit legal year before last.

Since we don't do many wetsuit legal races down here, an alternative for you to check out is www.wetsuitrentals.com .

Welcome to BT. If you want your name changed to Realbecca, PM Mike (marmadaddy) with your request and he will be glad to do it.
