Anyone interested in attempting to get something organized in Augusta?  If not a club how about a "chat room" or a thread here?

We could probably get a thread stickied here.

If you're in Augusta, I'd suggest joining the Augusta Striders...it's a running club but we hav e alot of triathletes who organize group training. Plus, I'm the VP.

And...I lead a Tuesday night run meeting at 5:30 at Nacho Mama's downtown. We have 10-20 folks that regulary show up and we do 3-4 miles with folks running from 11:00 to 7:00 miles. Plus...dinner and beer after!

The Striders is good for running and alll, but it would be nice to have a club specifically tri related.  It seems like there's a need for a tri club with the Augusta 70.3- that race is attracting a lot of new people to the tri community

We're working on reviving the sTRIders part of the club...stay tuned!

In related news...Augusta Team in Training is kicking off it's Augusta 70.3 program. If you want to train with a group (we have 16 people signed up so far) and raise money for kid's with cancer, that's an option.

There are several of us from around Woodstock in the North Atlanta Multisport Club.  You are welcome to join our rides whether you are in the club or not.  Most of them get posted on here anyway.

Hi! I live in Buckhead and want to join a club. Does anyone have any opinions on which club is the best club? I don't mind driving, but I would prefer one that stays ITP or close to it. Thanks!

Way to rub it in that Macon doesn't have a tri club.  Don't know how active I could be in one if we DID have one.

I've joined the TriYourBest tri "club", and just wanted to report that they are increasing their activities.  On Tuesdays and Thursdays they have 7:30pm swim lessons at the Mercer University (Atlanta Campus) pool.  I've been doing them for over a month now and have to say my stroke technique has dramatically improved.  There is a monthly fee for the swim lessons, because they rent the lanes from Mercer University.  At the moment there are about 6 of us taking lessons sharing 2 lanes.

They have Saturday 8:30am rides at Stone Mountain Park.  They also have had Sunday rides, but I have not joined for any of them.

With both the swim instruction and cycling, they are good at making the practice appropriate for the student's level.  They are also planning a series of clinics at their store.  I missed the first one on flat tire repair, so I cannot say how it went.

Ther're making a real effort to serve the Atlanta triathlon community and develop their business.  I wish them the best of luck.

Macon doesn't have a tri club, but there are many multi-sport athletes.  The local running club, the Macon Tracks, have a nice website and forum which a section dedicated to multi-sport discussion.

Check it out here...     http://www.macontracks.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=5

I noticed that the Augusta Tri Club post was over a year old...is that still going on?  I'm going to be returning from deployment (to the Augusta area) in about 2 - 2 1/2 months and was curious if they are still holding meetings...

Anyone interested in a Tri Club in North Macon or McDonough area.  I am about 30 miles North of Macon and 20 miles south of McDonough.  New to triathlon.  Have not competed yet.  I am in a Mentor group on this site and learning a lot.  Would be great to get together with some other folks in the area once in a while to do some group workouts, swap stories and share ideas.
