Subject: What's your secret energy and recovery food?
For the morning run or bike I mix Nutella and Peanut Butter and eat 5-6 spoons 20 minutes before heading out
Just fills better than gels and does not upset tummy like bars.
And for recovery (after long rides and long runs) I eat Ben & Jerry's Phish Food Frozen Yogurt
So what's your secret

Don't have any secrets, just cliff bars and shots, chocolate milk for recovery.;-)

Not sure high-fat Nutella and peanut butter are the best "energy" foods though.

For a quick prep recovery, I like Balance bars. Taste good and usually 14-15g of Protein. Haven't found an Energy one yet, although I'm starting to venture into the world of Gels

If I'm going to the gym, a large cup off coffee on the way there, If i'm not, then a couple sips of gatorade before heading out. When I'm done, if I'm at home, a large, large bowl of ceral (wheaties, chex, lucky charms ) If i'm at work, instant oatmeal.

Energy - Lemon-Lime Gatorade with a scoop or two of corn sugar (dextrose) added.

Recovery - Toffee Chocolate Chip Harvest Powerbars

Pre race/workout-
1 bottle of Accelerade
During- IM Cocktail
2 scoops of Metabolol, 2 scoops of CarboPro and 2 scoops of Cytomax per bottle. In the next few weeks I will probably switch to Interphase instead of Metabolol
no gels or bars
