I take more of a break the few days before a sprint than I do after it. I want all my energy and training ready to blow up and go full out for the sprint tri, which is actually a fairly short (time wise) day for me. The day after a sprint is a great day for a nice long bike ride.

I always take the day off before a race, and taper two to three days prior to that (depending on the lengh of the race ). The morning of the race I am ready to explode. After my last race, Saturday, I did a nice easy long bike on Sunday to work out any sore muscles. However, as stated above definitely let your body tell you when you are ready to start again. |
