Sunny
Total Time = 1h 31m 58s
Overall Rank = /
Age Group = 25-29
Age Group Rank = 1/6
Pre-race routine:

Had an english muffin with peanutbutter and banana slices and a hot tea. Rode the race with our friend Matt as Scott had gone to race site earlier b/c he was working at the race. I got there, set up my transition area, picked up my timing chip and got body marked.
Event warmup:

Did a little running and then got my wetsuit on and got in the lake to get used to the chilly water.
Swim
  • 19m 52s
  • 750 meters
  • 02m 39s / 100 meters
Comments:

I had a little trouble seeing where I was going...the sun was in the my eyes and I am not good at looking up while I am swimming. I had to keep stopping and redirecting myself.
What would you do differently?:

I need to practice putting my head up and looking ahead while I am swimming.

Get more open water swim experience.
Transition 1
  • 01m 36s
Comments:

Considering this was my race wearing I wetsuit I felt I did well getting it off in transition! The trick to to bodyglide your neck, wrists and ankles!
Bike
  • 47m 25s
  • 14.5 miles
  • 18.35 mile/hr
Comments:

Great ride...I felt good and was pleased with my performace. We had both head and tail wind on the course.

Right out of the transition area was a steep hill leaving the parking lot. It was hard b/c there wasn't any time or place to gain momentum!
Transition 2
  • 00m 34s
Comments:

Since I only have toe cages and haven't got my toe clips and biking shoes on my bike yet I have an easy transition b/c I don't have to change my shoes. I felt pretty good coming off the bike. I did however, almost run out the wrong end of the transition area!!
Run
  • 22m 33s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 07m 15s  min/mile
Comments:

Once I got to the top of the steep hill right out of the transition I was able to find my legs. I had a much better run this race than two weeks ago and even had some left at the end.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe push myself a little harder on the run.
Post race
Warm down:

I hugged my hubby Scott at the finish line and grabbed a diet Coke.

Event comments:

Post race food...pizza...how can you wrong?
