Anyone interested in a group ride out north from Frisco?  We could meet at Starbucks - Main and Teel - then ride north passed 380.  Or we could meet in Celina and ride from there.  Or any other suggestions...I'm open.  I'm in for 2 -3 hours of easy riding.

I would love to, but I'm already paid up for "Head for the Hills" in Cedar Hills.  And the following week is Cross Timbers Century.

I might be down for this. I don't have my tri bike yet, but I can ride my roadie if the pace isn't too fast.

Define "easy".

AKA: 18 mph average at the end of the ride.

What starting time are you thinking of? And since when did 18 mph become an easy ride? Cripes, that's nearly my average for a f***ing race. Oh well, you don't get better by riding short and slow. I could probably handle two hours, not three.

I'm in.  How long depends on how early we start.  It is getting light by 6:30 or 6:45.  The earlier the better for me then 2 to 3 hours.  I have to go to 2 b-day parties in the afternoon so I have to be home early.

I say meet in Frisco and leave by 7am at the latest.

Ouch... I'll have to pass then. That is my race pace, not an "easy" training ride.

That's my thinking! So, is there a no-drop policy on this ride?

Yes. If you're dropped, nobody will know where to find your carcass.

Yeah, "easy" is all relative.  Remember Tommy Did IMAZ at over 18mph so  a 2 - 3 hour easy ride could be 19-20.  I rode with him and a few other guys once and they were pretty accomadating.  I went on my own after awhile as I was not training for an IM like them and would not be able to hold their pace for 5+hrs.  I am assuming this ride for Tommy will be easier than his IM trainin though.  Really the course is not bad and even if people are dropped you should be able to get back to starbucks.

I am still in though as long as we go early.

In all fairness guys... I did just kind of make that average up... joking around.

Seriously though, Tommy is fast and for him, an 18 mph average at the end, would be an easy ride.

I'm sure he will chime in with the average though.

This will be a no drop ride; no drop meaning we'll wait for you up the road if you do get dropped, i.e. at the next turn.  I'll print out a map but we can modify the route depending on the wind, how far we want to go, etc.  Meet at Starbucks at 7am and roll out shortly afterward works for me.

I'm really not a 'hammer head'.   May is my month to do whatever I want...no training plan.  So, just looking for some friends to ride with.

I guess I'd better pack an extra water bottle and buy some gel-type food.

This sounds great Tommy.   Thanks for suggesting this.

I need to do about 6 hrs at 17-18mph depending on wind and terrain.   If y'all are planning on riding 2-3 hrs, then I assume I should just be able to do the route 2-3 times, right?

I've rode the Celina loop, but are you planning a different route?  If so, what are the road surfaces like?

I've got a decently long ride planned Saturday, but I'll probably be on the same route at some point.  I'll look out for you, but don't wait around for me.

I'm officially in. Where is the Starbucks we're starting from? And is the time officially confirmed for 7:00?

Also, does the loop include a way for me to easily return to our starting point should my back give out after two hours and the rest of you want to do three? This will be longest I've been on a bike to date.

I am in and so is Brian.

You may want to start a list, Tommy.. so we have everyone accounted for when we leave Starbucks.

Dude.  Come out.  You're not going to get dropped.  This isn't the TdF.  We are out there to have fun, get some time in the saddle and enjoy the outside.  There is no pressure in these rides.
