First - 1990 Toyota Tincan... err... Tercel.

Favorite - 1988 Silver Plymouth Voyager that I plastered with great liberal bumper stickers, replaced the hood ornament with a cast iron monkey in a fez, and a rubber chicken on the dash. That was a great heap of a vehicle.

Actual favorite - late model VW Polo that I rented and drove around Ireland for a week last year. Think VW Golf, but smaller. Awesome little car.

First car: 1978 Plymouth Horizon - 4 dour, hatch back.  Black exterior, red interior.  FUGLY

Favorite car: Tough call.   Probably my second car.  1978 Ford F-150.  351 modified Cleveland under the hood, dual straight exhaust, glass paks and no catalitic converter.  Loud and proud baby.

Subject: RE: What was your first car? What was your favorite car (that you owned/leased)?

Since I'm 27, was in school from age 5 to age 25, my cars have not been spectacular.

My first car: a tealy-green 1991 Dodge Spirit. An old company car that my dad bought for cheap and then had painted. Why teal-green, I will never know, except that it was the 90's. Teal was big. Drove it in high school until I went to college, where we couldn't have a car (no student parking lot at my 2-building college, and really no need for a car in Boston).

My grad school car: a red 1990 Dodge Spirit. (see a trend here? Yeah - dad is from Michigan - we only drive Chryslers/Fords) Owned by my late g-ma, who literally only took it to the store and church. Had 60,000 miles on it when I acquired it in 2004.

Current car - black 2006 Chrysler Sebring. Was given to me as a graduation gift in May of '06. To be fair, my dad's dad and my uncle both work/worked for Ford, so for anything in the Ford/Daimler Chrysler family, we get a discount. That includes Mercedes and Volvo, but my dad limited my car choices by the dollar amount. I REALLY wanted a red mustang coupe, but the insurance on those things is killer...and I am paying the insurance.

If I had to buy my own car (which I had every intention of doing until my dad said "I'm buying you a car"- I'm really not a spoiled brat, but in my book, you don't say no to your father, regardless - I've never asked him for anything), I wouldn't have gone Chrysler or Ford, necessarily. But it does include Volvo, and I do like them. And I will still be able to use the family discount...

My first car was a 1970 something Malibu. One of those huge things. Didn't have floorboards in the back so my guy friends could pee through the floor without me having to stop the car.

Favorite car was my Volvo 850, my first new car back in 1995.

1982 Ford EXP custom - roof had been cut off and replaced with a convertible frame. Heavy soft canvas top like a Mercedes. Body in perfect shape and looked like a 2/3 scale Mustang 5.0. Women loved that car. They would stop me in parking lots, never having met me, and ask for rides.

I was at a gas station once and a guy came over gushing about my car, wanted to drive it around the block, even asked if I were willing to sell it right there. I thought he was a bit nuts until I looked over and saw that he was driving A DELOREAN. Needless to say I gave him a shot with my car in exchange for a shot with his.

Funniest part about all of that is that the car had a book value of less than $100. It had a 1.6l 4cyl Ford engine that was best measured in Hamsterpower. I had to have a pro appraiser examine it and write a notarized letter to my insurance company so they would bother with comprehensive coverage on it because as far as they were concerned a 1982 Ford wasn't even worth scrap cost in 1994.

First: 1969 Chevy Nova

Favorite: 1984 Honda CRX Si. Pocket rocket, 'twas the perfect car for that point in my life. Likewise with my current 2007 Toyota RAV4. But them I'm a simple, functional kind of guy as far as cars are concerned.

First 1974.5 MG Midget.....like this except mine was flourescent dog-puke yellow. Notice the big rubber bumper pads.  My dad made me install a roll bar (which was a really nice mod). Actually it probably was my favorite car too.

First: 1984 Civic sedan.  Three speed automatic, and so cheap, that it only had a rear view mirror on the drivers side.

Fave: 1992 Toyota MR2.  Signal yellow, hard top, soooo much fun to drive.  Never should have gotten rid of it.

First: 1982 Subaru BRAT. Light yellow with a `fun roof' ... like T-Tops but not really.

Fav: 1993 Toyota MR2 Turbo. Custom, well, everything. But it was simple, no body kit or anything like that, just racing tranny, clutch, suspension, brakes, etc. etc. etc. Even had a custom paint job on it. OK not custom, per se, but a new paint job since red 90s Toyotas didn't use clear coat and they faded to a dark pinkish color.

Galdang I loved that car.

First car - 82 Subaru GL, Was my mom's new, then my brother's and sister's first car as well.

Fav Car - 2001 Audi A4 - I still have it, only 75K but starting to have issues.

WORST CAR - 1998 (9)? Cougar. It was the new model. I don't know what I was thinking, was cool in the showroom, but after 6 weeks, I realized my mistake. Oh, well at least it was a lease.

First: 1998 Ford Escort. Not fun, or cool, or much of anything other than cheap and (relatively) safe.

Fave: 1997 Mustang Cobra. Everything the Escort was not. Midnight blue, which was apparently a relatively rare color for Ford at that time. That thing would flatten just about anything off the line. She was totaled by a hit & run drunk driver on Jan 17, 2006.

Favorite: 1967 Mustang.

My dad had a '67 Mustang that my grandparents gave him, and when I got my license that was gonna be my car. But, when I was 14, he sold it. Bastard.
