Run
Comments: Lots of people to run with and use for pacing. I was running mostly with people in the 20-30 age range. I picked out a young gal and stayed on her tail until mile 11 when she dropped back. What would you do differently?: Find a better way to carry electrolyte tablets. Trying to get them out of the zip lock bag cost me some time. Post race
Warm down: Walked, stretched, and waited for Tom and Eric to finish. Drank 24 ounces of water and had some gel blocks. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not knowing how to pace, where to push it. I need to become more aware of time splits if I ever want to push myself a little more in a race. I get locked in, zone out, and just run. Event comments: Nice course if you like running on city roads and bike paths. Nice scenic tour of Madison, great festival atmosphere, and lots of participants. Just a few hills but nothing major. Nice spectators in the neighborhoods with hoses, music, and support. One group had a free beer stand, no I didn't partake. Last updated: 2008-05-23 12:00 AM

Up at 5:00AM, shower, ate most of a plain bagel with nothing on it. Drank 20 oz of Cytomax, sipping it for about 90 minutes. Took a gel at 7:00AM.
Walked around one block near the race start and did 4 20-second pick ups to wake up the legs (coach speak).
