El Reno, Oklahoma

Tri OK
Total Time = 2h 19m 8s
Overall Rank = 16/144
Age Group = 35-39
Age Group Rank = 5/20
Pre-race routine:

coffee + powerbar
Event warmup:

15' spinning on the trainer, 5 minutes easy swimming
Swim
  • 27m 36s
  • 1500 meters
  • 01m 50s / 100 meters
Comments:

I didn't think I did too bad of a job sighting, but I did find myself alone a few times.
What would you do differently?:

Go back in time, start swimming at an early age.

I can't be competitive (locally) until my swim is in the 20'-22' range.
Transition 1
  • 00m 49s
Bike
  • 1h 04m 51s
  • 40 kms
  • 37.01 km/hr
Comments:

Since I had held 252 watts for Tornado Alley, I wanted to try and do at least that for this race. I was actually hoping for something closer to 260, but it wasn't there. Legs were sore and feeling a little dead from all the bodymarking yesterday.
Transition 2
  • 00m 40s
Comments:

Still haven't bought any tri shoes, so I'm putting on my road shoes in transition, and taking them off after I dismount.
Run
  • 45m 10s
  • 10 kms
  • 04m 31s  min/km
Comments:

Side stitch slowed me down for a couple of miles, ITB acted up in the last 1.5 mile or so, but not enough to slow me down.
Post race
Warm down:

Race site tear down & clean-up!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The bike is there, I just need a 42' 10k and 22' 1500.

Event comments:

For $45, can't be beat.
