I am registered to do the HIM distance.  I probably won't do the practice because it will be the week before IMLP and I will be in full taper mode.

I will be signing up for the sprint distance, this is my first season...I won't be doing the HIM distance until next year or later!

I may do the half, but I'm not registering for anything until Lake Placid is done and I see how I recover.

I now wish that I had signed up for the sprint as well as the HIM.  That would have been a blast, IMO to do both the same w/e.

Pretty impressive that this race has sold out more than a month beforenand in both of its first two years!

I just registered for the half today - I'll be looking for my first sub-5 hour HIM, which should be doable especially since the race website indicates that the ride is only 54 miles and the run is only 12.6 miles.

HAPPY NEW YEAR NEWS!

Dear Athlete,

It's finally 2009! Hopefully you've had a chance to see some of the accolades Pumpkinman and the crew received in 2008 - including a Best of the Best Award (see the Forum section of the website to read the articles).

As you begin training for the upcoming triathlon season, the Pumpkinman crew has been hard at work. We are pleased to announce the return of many of sponsors including: Gatorade, providing bottle handups during the Half Iron distance race; Xterra, who will once again be offering all participants a discount; Sperry Tents, hosts of the Pasta Gala on the evening of the 12th; The Little Hat Company of South Berwick, designers of all age group winner's special gifts; Bondgarden Farm providers of all awards and Half Iron Finisher Medals (to see more of our sponsors visit our webpage), and don't forget all the yummy food at both events including Whoopie Pies and Pumpkin Pie.

The Pumpkinman Sprint and Half Iron Distance Races, like last year, will sell out quickly. For those who want to conquer both events we have The Great Pumpkin Challenge, race in both and receive a discount! And---something special will be given to all who complete both races--the crew is finding just the right award!

If you're still planning on participating in 2009 but haven't registered, make sure you register soon, as many new and returning athletes have already taken advantage of our early sign-up discount and 2008 fees!--and remember without your support and kind words spoken over the last two years we would not be able to bring you this world class event!

Make sure to visit our website regularly for updates and important information. And, please stop by our booth at the Multisport Expo at MIT on March 21st & 22nd , to say hi, get a question answered or grab a piece of that all important Lindt Pumpkinman Chocolate.

Keep on Tri-ing,
Kat Donatello

Keep an eye on the Forum section of the Pumpkinman website. We will keep everyone updated on training sessions and how the race is filling up. The dates have not been choosen this year as of yet for the bike training sessions, but we should know by mid-March.

Registration for the sprint is nearly triple what it was last year at this time...so I see it selling out very soon. The Half is over double what it was last year, and should also sell out quickly. Any questions please feel free to email me at [email protected]

Happy Training!
