You had to give your race shirt to your significant other because it didn't fit.

You're talking about an uncoming race and the other person says "Really - you're doing a triathlon?"

Ok, I didn't say IM - just a sprint bucko.

You might be a Clydesdale/Athena if...

You go to pick up your packet in a shirt that says:

"Id like to see you do this at my weight!"

or

  • ..the small container of Body Glide just isn't an option...

  • or

  • ..your idea of a Ladies Large Tri Suit and _______ <--- insert your triathlon clothing manufacturer of choice here....and YOUR idea of a Ladies Large are two TOTALLY different things....

  • or

  • ..you check the cut off times before you read anything else about the race...

  • or

  • ..(for athenas only) .. your jog bra looks more like you're expecting a terrorist attack and doubles as a bulletproof vest...

Man, does this hit really close to home. I have a bunch of race / rally shirts from last year, that I am just now fitting in. And then a certain bearded running guy on her, picked up my SunMart packet and grabbed a large polo shirt, when I was wearing 2 - 3x.. lol (by the way.. I am not hating..hahaha. Thanks for picking it up!).. It is all good though. He meant to do it. He was just motivating me to get into it by this year's race.

I did try it on, right after the race. As I put it on, a scene from a movie came to mind. Chris Farley, in Tommy Boy, when he put on David Spade's coat and ripped it.. lol

ok.. back the OP.... carry on..

...people have ever encouraged you to lift weights rather than swim/bike/run.

If I had a nickel for every, "Dude, you aren't going to have any knees left!"

Freaking hate that.  Most of the time, an XL fits just fine BUT they were giving away shirts at the end of my last HIM.  They had given all the "big" shirts away hours ealier to the sprinters and olympic lengths (eveyone like the oversized look).  I was OBVIOUSLY the biggest guy competing that day and I had to take a large shirt.

    I looked like "baby huey"

On the bike leg, you get passed on the uphills.

On the downhills, it's a whole different story --

    ON YOUR LEFT!!!

I think Bopper and I were posting at the same time!

You finish training at the local Y and notice that the scale in the bathroom doesn't go high enough for you to use.

... you're screaming "passing left" on the downhills while you coast past everyone... but couldn't utter a syllable on the next uphill.

...or you can carry on a full conversation on the uphills because you're walking your bike!

...or you used a talking scale once and only once because it screamed, "GET OFF YOU HORSE!"

...you get your first tri suit in the mail and you are pretty sure that it's going to take you as much time to actually get into the suit as it is to finish the entire race.
