I have signed up for this race as well. It will be a good early season race. I plan on adding another half in July in prep for IKKY in 2009. I am also signed uo for the Augusta 70.3

Is anyone else doing the New Orleans race? I am beginning to have 2nd thoughts about the race. I have heard the roads are in bad condition. I talked to the RD and the assured me that the roads were in decent shape

We were totally interested until everyone scared us about horrible roads and the threat of dying from swimming in Lake Pontchartrain.  Might see how the first year goes and decide.  It's too bad, N.O rocks and I've got massive amounts of family/cowbellers there.

I really want to do this race. The only thing I'm not sure about are the roads..they are pretty bad, at least from what I remember. Swimming in the lake I'm not so worried about because they have to check it and make sure it is safe for people to swim in. Right? I'm not rushing to sign up but it is definitely on my short list. I would love a reason to go to NO.

I'm contemplating it, but I do know the roads in NO aren't the best.  Also a little leery of an inaugural race. I am thinking about Augusta though.
