Pre-race routine:

ate breakfast and 1 hour drive to race
Event warmup:

Ran for about 10 minutes.
Swim
  • 10m 52s
  • 400 yards
  • 02m 43s / 100 yards
Comments:

I kept a steady pace and did well on my breathing.
What would you do differently?:

Start on the outside of the group rather on the inside of the turn. A little too crowded.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

Transition times aren't broken out.
What would you do differently?:

I didn't run up the beach. I am always dizzy when I get out of the water.
Bike
  • 27m 13s
  • 8 miles
  • 17.64 mile/hr
Comments:

I passed tons of people!!! On the swim I was 115/228 and on the bike I was 46/228....Yes I know learn to swim faster.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing I pushed it as hard as I could. It was a very short bike course and my quads were burning the whole time
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

I took note of the clock when I came in my T2 was 1 minute.

What would you do differently?:

Nothing- possibly learn to run without socks. That might save me a bit of time.
Run
  • 27m 24s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 08m 50s  min/mile
Comments:

I had a hard time running. I had issues and hadn't really been running the past few weeks and I think I could really tell during the race. I just didn't have much left.
What would you do differently?:

Not walk the hills...I only walked for 15-30 seconds but I should have sucked it up and kept going.
Post race
Warm down:

Got a water and then went back out on the race course to find Kyle. Jogged in a little with him.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not much time in the pool and foot injuries.

Event comments:

Fun local super sprint tri. I wish the bike were longer (to allow me to make up for my slow swim LOL)

Excellent swim for me. No open water panic, I even started in the middle without waiting for everyone to go. Got kicked in the eye, but kept on going. I think the swim was a little long.
Suit:
Course: Start at on beach and swim around to the other beach. No buoys just hug the side as much as you dare. Lots of tall seaweed and if you get to close mud. I tried to stay in the deeper water. But it was good for beginners if they are nervous or what not.

So it was YOU that I was yelling "Go BT" at like a crazy-person! I remember seeing your son too - I think I passed him briefly on the bike. Congrats to both of you! Looks like you had a good race!
