No team preference.

This sounds super fun. I'm in for 15 stages for a total of 300 minutes.

No team preference, but hopefully a team that likes to talk a lot of smack!

Being new to a challenge, and having read all the threads, are you going to post a note on how to log time?   Also, will there be team threads and how to access those?

There will be spreadsheets , usually a google document that we  all can log into .  THe team captains check your logs to be sure you have the workouts in that the spreadsheets reflect but it really is an honor system that we trust your logs and the work you're doing.

I'm still looking over my training plan so my final commitment is not out yet.  The challenge is only running July 5-27 right?  I do 3 bike workouts a week but I need to count the hours on my plan for a final answer....also looking at the rearranged week with the FFF over July 11 and my next race the following weekend

patricia7 - 2008-07-01 1:44 AM I've never done a BT challenge and really not sure how this works. But this sounds like fun and would motivate me to be diligent with my rehab (I suffered hypothermia and crashed on my bike at the Worlds in early Jun). If my Dr. confirms tomorrow I don't need surgery and I'm allowed to ride on my Computrainer in Jul, I'm in for 10 stages and 450min. Cat, can I confirm with you tomorrow, would that be too late?

No definatley not too late - challenge starts on the 5th and I wont finalise the teams until Thusday night/Friday morning - so just let me know!

I hope the news from the docs is all good!

Hi Cat, I got clearance from Dr!  Please sign me up - 10 stages, 450min.

hi - absolutely... to give the new people an idea of how this works:

- Teams are posted in a thread here in the challenge forum... each team gets a thread in the same forum that I will post up at the same time as I announce the teams.... (I usally do it overnight USA time so it is all ready to go when most people get online)

- Your team thread is there for your to introduce your team mates and get to know everyone. Its also useful to access your team mates logs and leave inspires to keep them motivated throughout the challenge

- Generally I try to get around everyone and let them know what team they are on... HOWEVER with more than 100 people signed up you will understand this is a BIG job so might be a bit hard to do for everyone straight away!

- Teams will be posted and team threads Thursday PM/Friday AM so keep an eye out if you want to know straight away

- In terms of challenge logging you must log your workouts in your BT log... there will also be a spreadsheet set up online under google for you to put in your achieved total workouts goals each week (weeks will be set in line with the Tour De France weeks/rest days and I will post the dates in each of the team threads - promise!)

- Links to the google spreadsheet will be posted in your team thread with log in details

- If you have trouble accessing the spreadsheet either let me know or post your results in the team thread and Im sure someone will update them for you

- I will post two updates during the challenge... to give everyone a heads up on how each of the teams is progressing in line with the reporting weeks Ive mentioned above

Any questions, as always feel free to ask me!

I'm not too sure how this all works but looks fun. Can I still sign up? I'm not sure how to work out the stages but I'm up for hours. I'll say from 5-27th that I'll ride 10 hours. (had originally more time but in reading others times, figured maybe I was being too ambitious and not realizing it is not for the entire month...the 5th and 27th are included right?)

Hi - yes both dates are included... stages are just the number of workouts you are planning...

So... you are riding 10 hours....how many workouts (stages) is that based on and voila! There is your goal!

Ive got you on my sign up list now but any questions just let me know

Cat, just keep me away from that Silence Loto team. Dirty tricks, just downright dirty. And I suppose you're on that cruddy team.

Nope... Im not.....

But did you see Cadel got the number 1 bib for the race this year?

Cadel, No 1 crud, sounds about right. Robbie, No2 crud?

I'd like to join! I'm a TdF fanatic, and will be watching (and riding) as much as possible. Put me down for 10 stages and 300 minutes.

Team preferences: CSC or Caisse d'Epargne ;)

Hmm... so what if I hit the time goal before or after the number of stages? Like say it rains so I bag a bike ride but then double up the next ride or due to time constraints do a couple of short rides instead of a longer one etc...??

My best guestimate is 9 stages.
