Comments:

Wooohooo! PR, and I went into it with tired legs from a hard run on Webesday. Ultimate goal was to go sub 8s, but I'll leave that for the next 5K. I wasn't sure if I could get in the 7s, since I haven't been doing much if any "faster" running since IMAZ until very recently. As in 2 days ago.

Perspective on the progression:
2005 - 28:35
2007 - 26:38
2008 - 25:33

I am also about 14# lighter than last year.

Splits
8:30
8:05
8:13

I was surprised at the middle split since the course is flat for a mile, then slight rollers for a mile, then flat for a while, and my best split was in the rollers. COming into mile 3, off the rollers, I always think I'll pick it up but the rollers just freaking kill, and I start to lose focus. Same thing last year.

Garmin actually had it at 3.14 at 25:55, but the official time of 25:33 for 3.1 is the same pace. I couldn't tell where the finish line was, so I probably missed it by a few seconds.

Congrats on the PR, Chris.  That is always gratifying and sometimes make those tough training days just a little more tolerable.

It's cool to see your speed progression over the last 3 years!

Nice work Chris!  Hmm, I might have to challenge myself to beat you to that sub-8 pace in a 5K   LOL!

Sweet PB even if course is a little long!

I'm hoping to get sub 25 maybe next year.

Sweet PR on tired legs! One day I want to be like you. No, no, no, not the running--getting to stand next to Jeff by the beach. And heck, if I could EVER pop out 8-min miles in a row ...

Great job on the PR...did this race last year and it was the anti-PR for me (and for my wife)...deceptively rolling course and soggy ocean humidity...so congrats! Good job!
