I would really like to do this race but I have not been released by my doctor to run more than 3 miles on my foot yet!  I hope to get the go ahead in 2 weeks.  Will it be too late?

Hmm, all that beer and BBQ could cause said swim relay people to sink pretty fast in that warm lake should full racers come back and find it all gone...not that I know anyone who would stoop to violence though...but then again, it is BBQ...

Any relay swimmers that might be tempted, look at the name on this post and then go look at the hottie thread where she's holding serious weaponry. This would not be a wise life decision.

today was our 42nd day this summer above 100 degrees. last year was had only a handful and the water temp was 84. i'm betting it'll be that this year for sure.

Hot dogs and juice boxes????

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!

If I finish this race and am greeted by a hot dog and juice box, someone is going to die a very slow, painful, torturous death.

At least that...  Gary's clever joke about water handups during the swim may become a necessity. It has to break some day, though - right? please...?

Seriously. Have I mentioned my dad has a CPL and will be in attendance?

The website has said less than 200 for a few weeks.  I was just curious.  I am trying to get a friend to go ahead and sign up before it is too late.

There are now 100 BTers that have added this race to their race list!  How exciting!

Oh....and can you at least have some TURKEY dogs along with those hot dogs???  I guess that and a juice box is better than nothing....

Can't tell you how many times myself (or one of my friends) has played that game and lost. Most recently was someone that waited one day too long for Jack's Generic. If they're really gonna do it, it's time to sign up! If nothing else, signing up puts a little extra oomph in your training...

Hi local Dallas BTer's- I'll be there with the kids cheering everyone (including my spouse Grady- AKA gleser) on. Is there a planned meeting place that ya'll will all be congregating during and after the race? I know we'll want to hang out and see everyone we didn't get to meet at the Take the Heat race and earlier this season! Let me know so I can try to find y'all?!

Thanks-

Linda

Linda,

There will be a BT tailgate area for BTers' pre and post-race festivities.  Not sure exactly where it will be, but I think there are actually 2 spaces reserved, and if things go as previously discussed, it will include a large grill, plenty of meat, and lots of fun.

Hi Everyone,

Volunteering at LH and looking forward to meeting some of the BT folks at the tailgate party. What should I bring?
