Subject: RE: Lake Logan Triathlon I did the race last year, but not doing it this year. Too far of a drive.
Great race venue. I remember getting a bit overheated swimming in my full wetsuit. They measure the water temperature where the river enters the lake. The water is way colder in this spot. This is also the swim exit. The water everywhere else is warm. A sleeveless wetsuit would be better, if you have a choice. If you don't have a wetsuit, don't buy one just for this race. The really cold water at the end will feel good by that point, and it's just a short little bit after the bridge. Speaking of the bridge, it was really exciting swimming under the bridge - I was vaguely aware of spectators on the bridge cheering me on. The water is clear and the bottom of the lake is creepy (twisted old tree roots ). I think they measured the course short last year, as I swam it in 25 minutes, which is 5 minutes faster than my usual oly time.
The bike route is not flat like they describe. I would classify it as rolling hills.
The run is exactly like they describe.
I didn't think of this last year, but if you are really hot after the run, go jump in the lake near the swim exit. It will feel marvelous!
Good luck! |
