bootygirl - 2005-02-11 8:33 PM It's official. We are moving to Nevada. SOON. Like, before March. Even maybe the day of the group run. I hear Reno area has a few races..... ya'all can come on out and D will make noodles for us the night beofe the race.... I am sadhappy.

What a cheesy way of making sure I don't crush your swim times this year!  I, too, am sadhappy - but I'm sure you'll make the best of it.  Good luck to you and D!

Joe, mon cher, you can only dream of a time when you do not fear me swimming over you like a motor boat. it will be one of your recurrring dreams......but I am sad we will not be at the gravel pit together,,,,, if only to releave my inflated sense of power!

I'm with you. I have a feeling we may be in FL before March is out (nothing official yet, it just seems very, very likely). I'm afraid I'm going to spontaneously combust in the heat or turn into one huge mosquito bite, but at the same time, I think it'll be good for us and hopefully lots of fun!

COgirl - 2005-02-14 4:58 PM  Joe, is there a parking lot or meeting place for this run?

Yes, in fact there are TWO parking lots available.  I've been giving everyone directions to the parking lot at the top of Emma & Caria Sts.  It's also where the markers start.  Plenty of parking.  IF, however, someone were to end up in the west parking lot, it.s only .4 miles from the east lot, and I'm sure we'll all meet up easy enough.

For those still needing directions: from 287, turn left onto South Boulder Road, go west 3 lights (~.5 mile).  Turn right at Centaur Village Road (by the DAIRY QUEEN), and turn right onto Caria at the stop sign.  Head north about .5 mile, and turn left at the stop sign - you'll be turning into the east parking lot.  If you need more detailed directions, just PM me...

So when are you moving Mary?  My dad used to do a lot of consulting in Winnemucca - he's a mining engineer.  Definitely a big change from Denver!!

start date on the first.... my physical move probably the third week of March. I have been a long term visiter of Elko, Ely, Austin, and Reno, so I have been through Winnemucca a number of times. The mining sector is booming there, and I am going to open a new laboratory. It seems that houseing is really in short supply.

Yay - no snow in the forecast, so I'll be there

So, how far are you guys going to make me run?  I'm only back up to 4 miles right now - I might be kicking back at a picnic table while y'all finish putting in the miles...

OK, I hate to be a downer but this run probably won't be my best. That's because it's NBA All-Star Weekend and I'm going to be working an exclusive private gala for NBA players and 3,000 of their closest friends on Saturday night in Denver. Thank God the run doesn't start until 11 a.m but I'll probably be there around noon!

Also I'm bringing a non running friend is there somewhere she can hang out? Cathy are you brining Tara? Maybe she can babysit! She's really nurturing, she has to be she's MY best friend. Let's just say the girl is understanding!

OK, I decided I'm gonna be there. I think my friend Cherie and maybe my friend Kelly (both aspiring triathletes) will be coming as well.

Stacers, I'm far lower than 4 miles, so I'll be on that bench before you!

For any non-runners showing up on Sunday: from the start point, follow the trail to your left about .4 miles, and there's a nice little park (with new equipment - that means more swings to play on!) and there are benches all around the lake. The boathouse isn't open, but a portapotty is available. Bring water, as the water fountain isn't working, or, in Kim's case, malt-beverage of choice. I will run at least 6 miles, maybe more, and I'm thinking an easy pace would be the ticket for Sunday, but anyone can bail at anytime. Kim's bailing first to tap the keg, so the second person to bail should fire up the grill, right?

Looking forward to seeing you all.....I gotta remember the camera, and Ovetta's water bottle

Thank you, everyone who showed up!  It was great to see everyone again, and add some new faces.  The after-run feeding-frenzy was enjoyable too!  Look for pics in Stacers and infosteward's albums...

I'll get some bike rides going once the weather warms up a little bit.  Perhaps we can start moving the runs farther south, to accomodate more of the Denver-area people (and poor Ovetta won't have to drive so dang far!
