Subject: Why Dreyers Why!!!

So I'm at the store getting some ice cream and Dreyers is on sale for $3.99 so I grab one and.......it's now a 48oz tub instead of a 64oz. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy? I know they are doing this to charge more but not seem like they are but still I had to put it back and get Tillamook which is still a 64oz tub for the same $3.99. Anyone else find any normal products like this, that are changed.

Blame it on the man!!!

Actually I deal with retail alot and in the next few months you will be seeing a ton more of that. Food prices are skyrocketing if they haven't already.

Two options for them, keep the same price and reduce the size or raise the price. Neither is favorable to the consumer but necessary.

Coca Cola and Anheiser Busch have both announced major price increases coming in Sept. so be ready. Frown

Now we just need our COLA's to increase so that we can afford all these other increases.

Another vote for Tillamook.   But I stay away from ice cream.  (crying sobs)

a certain laundry detergent brand just did something similar (*cough /tide/ *cough)

they took a 48 load volume container and dropped it down to a 24 load volume container but made the solution 2X more potent, meaning that you only have to use half as much, meaning you should in the end still get 48 loads of laundry done. All the while keeping the price the same.

But they know that no one is going to only use half a cup of solution per load.

That reminds me. Fred Meyer must be getting paid huge bucks by pepsi because a 12 pack of pepsi is ~$4.00 and a 12 pack of Coca Cola is ~$7.99. How does that work? They always have coke on sale for ~$4.99 but I refuse to buy any soda from them because of it(not that I drink soda anymore usually, but before I started doing tri's).

I do! I've also found you don't need nearly the amount of detergent the box says to get your clothes clean.

Here is a recent article on this issue. You're not imagining it, the content IS getting smaller and we are paying the same price if not more.

My yogurt went from 8oz a container to 6oz a container so I started buying the big single flavor and using tupperware. Totally ripped off.

Gotta say, I LOVE the super concentrated detergent. As said, you really don't need all that much (stop shoving so many clothes into one load - helps immensely!), and for those of us using laundromats (*cough* friend's house *cough*), the little bottles are much easier to carry around.
