Swim
Comments: I was determined to stay in the pack, which I was for while, and then I ended up swimming wide for a while. Ther were three or four o us that stayed tangled up for a long time. I got a bit bumped off track at the first bouy, but recovered pretty quickly. I felt good - that's all I can say. One pink capper passed me, but hey she's speedy in the water, it's all good. Can you hear the song 'I'm so excited!' by the pointer Sisters playing - cuz that's what's playing in my head right now' What would you do differently?: Uhm - continue going to Masters swim - nothing really different. Transition 1
Comments: With what I had to work with - worked for me What would you do differently?: Next year after the foot has healed i am going to practice keeping the shoes clipped into the bike and jumping on. Bike
Comments: Not bad, I hated being sick and then busy each night. probably could have hammered it more. Okay I cut almost 5-minutes off my last years time too, so I'll just stop complaining right now. What would you do differently?: Der uhm - ride more Transition 2
Comments: Yeah my left shoe stuck I had already unclipped the right, couldn't get the left off for a few seconds. I had to laugh. Relaxed and it came out just fine. What would you do differently?: Again - practice coming in and pulling feel out of shoes on the way in. Run
Comments: You know I came home and read last year's race report. I did the SAME thing this year - I left my water back in transition. I know the run time is not stellar, but with a 'Gimpy Foot' as someone called it. I think I did okay. What would you do differently?: Different - not much. foot is still healing and I will be back to running more later in the year and off season. Post race
Warm down: Gatorade, and a recovery drink i bought from Luke's Locker. Chit-chatted it up, while drinking fluids and eating watermelon. What limited your ability to perform faster: Uhm hhmm you know - I wasn't trying to come in first. I set two major goals - improve my swim time, which I Did!!! and meet or beat my cycling time - which ... I DID!! And of course - finish - which ..yes.. I did!! If the foot is better next year, I will add better run into the goal set, but I am not really complaining. Event comments: I have a heart for this race. First tri was Irongirl, and each year I have the opportunity to see how i am improving within this sport. I hope it stays around, because I have to keep doing it. Last updated: 2008-07-05 12:00 AM

Usual - night before prepared the bag and all the mixed drinks.
placed in the fridge and freezer.
This morning - took Succeed Pre-Race caps with Cytomax after I ate a banana. Tried to eat a half-peanut butter sandwich and couldn't finish it. Gave to to Sadie.
Once I set up transition, I walked the routes (swim in to my bike, bike out, bike in, run out). They swept the area, no tender feet this year, considering the foot is still tender.
I finally went over and swam. The first circle I made i swam right into a patch of vegetation. I about had a heart attack, and thought it wouldn't be good because then i couldn't race.
The next time I just went to the last bouy, around and back to the ladders.
Felt good - still not one with the water, but much better.
Right before the 'Aflaaac!' yell I saw John, Marci, and friends chit-chatted, then parted off to mentally set.
