Subject: Waupaca Area Tri?

I've seen some year old posts and a race report on this, but is anyone else doing the Waupaca Area Tri or have any info about the course?  Seems like a nice "local" race.

I only have two weekends completely free the rest of the outdoor tri season in which Waupaca would fill one and Devil's Challenge the other.  I'm holding out hope to add Lake Geneva/Fontana to the mix.

Waupaca was very nice.... locally run... the swim was very warm, a big hill up to T1.  The bike course which was labeled as "rolling hills" was actually very hilly.  The run was very short and flat.  Race food was very good.  It isn't a very busy race, but it was a nicely run one.  Good luck!

Did it a few years ago, nice race.  Lots of friendly people, we met a bunch of folks at the dinner the night before the race.  I agree with the other poster, it's a long run up from the lake to transition, and if I remember right, it's sandy.

It's a good "fun" race.

Racing it for the first time this year.
Flat run.
Hilly Ride.
And yes, there is a decent hill leading from the beach up to t1….I do believe that there are kiddie pools for rinsing the sand off your feet.

Was thinking about walking up to register, but looks like they sold out both distances, they must be doing something right!
