This may be cheesy but I always give The Better Homes and Gardens cookbook as a wedding gift.  It's a great go to book for everything from roasting a turkey, to making a sauce, or baking chocolate chip cookies.   I always inscribe my wishes for it to get used for years of holiday gatherings, romantic dinners, and one day maybe cookies with the grandkids. etc, etc.  Since it only sets you back about 30$ I usually add a gift card to a kitchen store or place where they are registered.  Several of my friends have commented that it has been one of their most used gifts. 

 

Have you ever tried this cookbook?  I have both and really like this one over the other one.
