Not sure what number this is for me.  Let's just say somewhere between 2 and 347. Closer to two, though.

I'm in for the pain!

Also, I've heard there's drinking afterward. Is there any truth to this, or is it simply a dream I've invented?

Yes, there is drinking afterwards. There is even drinking during. Somewhere between miles 4-6 there is a keg stop. For real. A group of Harley bikers have a keg with free beer.;

I can't believe I am going to miss another drinking event. Well, I will be drinking in New York... but not racing. I am now having feelings of guilt.

My co-op student at work said his frat would have beer on the course for the runners...if they want.  Seems like beer fizzies though the nose to me!

YES, there is at least one "official" beer stop, and there always seems to be people handing out Krispy Kremes to ! However, the Krispy Kremes did not work well for me last year.. just sat in my gut. So, I advise against those. The beer will probably absorb quicker

Are the hills any harder than the ones you hit in the TUURI 10k? They realy didn't seem all that significant to me.

Have fun everyone, it's probably the best big race Michigan has to offer.

Have you done the Fifth Third River Bank Run 25K in Grand Rapids?

I've done both and except for the beer stops and novelty sightings, I'd say the Riverbank run is a better event.

Just saying...

See everyone there...I just signed up! I'm also in for the Brooksie Way Half Marathon...anyone doing that one? It works well with my marathon training.

Lgabbs

I would like to try the Brooksie.  I am not sure if I am up to the milage, but it's on my "Why can't I do it" list.  Longest run for me so far was a little over 7 miles.  Since then I have been trying to build my milage back up, over did the knee thing a little.

I did make sure I wrote on the calander already to have that day off.

I've not done the TUURI 10k. So i'm not sure. It's hilly by my standards. I live in a very flat area....thus it is termed trixieville

Robyn, I'll bring the martian.  It can be an all day event, yes. However 4 of the 5 times I've run the race it has been humid and hot and storms threatened just until most everyone is done and then in downpours.  It's like groundhogs day. Happens almost every time I'm there. I'll plan to stay and get stoopid with ya'll though!  Jorge said to have fun, which to me means have fun, not bust my a$$

I just sighned up yesterday for the 10mile and TJ is not sure her knee will let her run it(8k). We live close by and are down for getting together before/after the race. Also is anybody coming up for packet p/u in the days leading up to the race? We could do a big dinner Friday before if anyone is interested. Let me know, I can set something up.

So far Trixie, your weather prediction is looking accurate- it's supposed to be a high of 86 with isolated T-storms. Perfect!
