Sandestin Triathlon

I haven't done it but I found one race report on the Race forum from the 2006 Sandestin. That might give you some idea about the race.

Last year the Sandestin Tri was actually my first triathlon. I have several friends that have done every year for the past several and they love it. I thought it was very well organized and very well run. The swim was not bad at all. We had perfect weather last year which may have spoiled me. I plan on doing it again this weekend! The weather may be a little different though. The only thing about the swim I did not like were the jellyfish, and there were plenty last year!

The swim started from the beach about 200 yards down from the finish. So you would go 200 yards out, take a left at the bright orange buoy, go roughly 500 yards back towards the finish, take another left and do about 200 yards back to the beach.
