Sharon, Richard and I are heading out tomorrow to help clean up.
As of 7:30 Friday morning it is still nasty out there, lots of wind and rain.

I thought I got away from this when I left South Florida.

[hijack] I'm assuming you mean the funky 60's pic.  www.yearbookyourself.com  Make one up...then post it in the thread in COJ.  Funny stuff![/hijack]

Looks like the storm is gonna move a little more quickly than originally anticipated (by me) so maybe it won't be as windy as I thought.

Sharon and I are heading over on Saturday to help with the clean up. Does anyone have a room that they won't be using? It is about an hour drive so it would be a pain to drive down tomorrow, drive home and then have to drive back again Sunday morning.

I left Camp Blanding about 2 hours ago; things are shaping up for the race.  I drove the bike course (along with Bob and Sharon, and a few others!), and it's fairly clean.  There are the unavoidable puddles and the area where you'll turn for the out and back portion will have cones and people to warn you to slow down.

The lake feels great and I swam from the swim entrance to the exit, right as a light rain started falling.  I love lake swims.

Looking forward to tomorrow.

Millco - 2008-08-23 7:54 PM does anyone know if it is wetsuit legal?

You're kidding, right?

That'd be a no..It's Florida, in August, in a lake.  They'd have to bring a cooler full of ice to hold the thermometer in to find a temp below 78.

How did you guys do?  You had the absolute best weather we've had here in over a week for your race.  It turned crappy not long after you should have finished.  Can't wait to hear how it went.

Weather did turn out nice...it DID get hot on the run though.

I killed last year's time.  2007 was 2:56...this year...2:32.  I'm sure my bike had a lot to do with it...and my nutrition.  Last year I failed miserably with nutrition.  This year it was spot on.  Plus the new P2C and the race wheels made a huge difference in climbing (not to mention all the squats and lunges...and my CdA race experience).  I had a great day.  4th in age group and 56th of 237 overall.  I'm happy with that since last year was a MUCH different story!!

I'll write a race report later today.
