yes - the concert that I have tickets for started nearly 1.5 hours ago.....I thought it was TOMORROW until just now when I went to double check the starting time of 'tomorrow's concert'!!!!

Ugh - and it was for Jack Johnson - whom I absolutely [heart]......

anyone else done something like that!?!?!?

That sucks! Look on the bright side though, the alternative is sitting through a Jack Johnson concert.

If it started 90 minutes ago, that means the first band is just now finishing, then tear-downa nd set-up. You totally could have made it.

*snerk*  I mean, oh, dang!

My 3-1/2 year old always yells out "CURIOUS GEORGE" when his one song comes on the radio about "upside down" (yeah, I'm a big music trivia buff and I can't even come up with the proper title of that song.  I'm a knob).

I wouldn't expect 'most guys' to 'get it'......he is undoubtedly more popular with the 'ladies' -  cause he sure 'ain't hard on the eyes' and has a voice like butter.....

But no 'man cards' have to be turned in to like (Or at least have knowledge of) Jack Johnson.....(those with kids should know that he did the whole soundtrack to Curious George)....but he also has had lots of airtime with many of his other songs...

Not true! The purchase price of one of his cd's specifically says if you are a guy and this is your first jack johnson cd then you must surrender your man card along with the $13.99 + tax.

I saw Jack at an outdoor show in Tahoe about 3 years ago. Just throw on one of his CD's... pretty much the same amount of energy as seeing him live.

That being said, sorry you missed out.

He kinda looks like Curious George, now that you mention it.

Next time just send the $125 that you're going to waste directly to me. Not that that would be any smarter, but you would have one less person calling you stupid!

Cool

I refuse to use Google to confirm this, but didn't he have a CD called "Brushfire Fairytales"?  I'm pretty sure I borrowed it from someone a few years ago and downloaded it into iTunes.  Never could bring myself to listen to it just because of the title alone.

Now, tonight, I will definitely not miss seeing this guy at Pier 6 in Baltimore:

I'll be there at 6 pm when the gates open.

well - everyone knows MONKEYS ARE cuter than BEARS!!!!

my husband was (admittedly reluctantly) going to go with me but he is out of town right now (for some reason he wouldn't even go to George Michael with me last month!).....

I was going to take my 9 year old daughter with me (but hadn't told her yet fortunately!)....

I knew in my HEAD that the concert was on the 21st - but for some reason I thought FRIDAY was the 21st.....

and....I DID get a reminder email - but I didn't open because I thought I already knew when it was!!

yes.....that's his.....and I have it on my ipod!

I am going to guess that's Billy Idol?  I haven't seen a pic of him since I was a teenager so I am not sure what he looks like now?

I was once talking to a neighbor who said she was taking her kids to the White Sox game that night. I thought that sounded odd, as I was just watching the game live on TV five minutes before. She assumed it was a night game, not a day game, and we both felt kind of bad when I showed her the sports section with the times.

It convinced me there are two kinds of people in this world. People who have done something really, unexcusably stupid such as missing a concert or a baseball game and people under a year old. It seems to me that after a year, we should learn enough to avoid making really dumb mistakes, yet we all manage to make those mistakes.

I once sent a colleague to a three day conference on the wrong three days. Shame on her for not getting the details but double shame on me for not reading more closely. I once drove into work on a holiday. I once left my parents at the airport after an international flight because I messed up writing down the flight number.

I have missed many, many appointments because when I made them, they were in the future. With no warning whatsoever other than subtle movements in time, those appointments move to the present, or even the past. It costs me money or respect with friends, but I am incapable of keeping a calendar in my personal life.

and today it's like someone poured vinegar in my 'wounds'.....in the paper it says Jack Johnson same on stage - at 8 pm!!!!  the tickets say 6pm with no mention of an opening act.....I discovered my mistake at about 7:20 -and I live about 7 mins from the venue!!!! (although I am sure parking would have been a nightmare...but even I could have ridden my bike there in about 15 mins or less!).

The fact still remains that I had no childcare arranged for my 7,9,and 11 year olds (well technically I had planned on bringing my 9 year old - but not in a 'rush'!...I would have just gone on my own!).

And at the gym this morning on of the trainers had on a concert t-shirt!
