Pre-race routine:

No breakfast. Apple and cup of coffee
Event warmup:

Swam 500 yards warm up. Felt great
Swim
  • 04m 54s
  • 437 yards
  • 01m 07s / 100 yards
Comments:

Again they all go out too fast. I just stayed in front the whole time but would have rather not had to go out so fast. Afraid it would be too hard to get around them all later. I was tired at the end as I had up my HR to high at the start. Fun stuff
What would you do differently?:

try to pace myself better and save my legs for the rest of the race. I kick when I swim fast and think I used my kick too much. My legs were very tired
Transition 1
  • 01m 58s
Comments:

I must not be running in and out fast enough because I didn't do anything here other than put my bike shoes on. No towel dry or anything.
What would you do differently?:

Run in and out faster
Bike
  • 42m 54s
  • 14 miles
  • 19.58 mile/hr
Comments:

My chain came off again. This hurt me mentally too.
That ride should have been faster. Next time it will
What would you do differently?:

Going to figure out what's up with my chain
Transition 2
  • 01m 19s
Comments:

I went as fast as I could.
What would you do differently?:

Smile for my moms picture
Run
  • 27m 3s
  • 3.42 miles
  • 07m 55s  min/mile
Comments:

Had trouble getting in the grove after the bike but was happy with second 1/2 of run. I did finish strong.
What would you do differently?:

Run faster at the start.
Post race
Warm down:

Ate some watermelon. Had some chocolate muffins. Walked around then hit the muffins again

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not able to accept a higher level of discomfort.

Event comments:

Lots of fun again. Like the rest of my races, I am impressed with how nice triathletes are. Fun to be a part of this group. The intake of free stuff seemed a bit light here but maybe I was spoiled from Seafair. Overall super fun!

Wow, your swim was really awesome! Oh yeah, your bike and run were really good too. Way to go. Do you have any more races planned for this year?

Thank you Dan. I am signed up for Flowing Lake Sept 13th. My YMCA is closed this week I am probably going to swim at the Marysville Y (it's closer than Monroe).  Do you swim there?

Yep, I swim in Marysville. It was closed last week, but opened back up today.
